Another of my favourite dish whenever I am in Korean restaurant is Kimchi fried rice. Not every one can cook a nice one, as every one have their very own Kimchi fried rice 김치볶음밥 recipe. This is what I learn and I DIY my own How to cook Kimchi Fried Rice Home Recipe.

Prep time: 5 minutes

cooking time : 10 minutes.

best kimchi fried rice

Ingredients:

  1. 120g SPAM
  2. 20 g Garlic
  3. 70 g onion
  4. 350g kimchi (2-3 weeks old prefer)

Others:

    1. 1 tbl spoon sesame oil
    2. 1 tbl spoon soy sauce

Over the video, I created an ADSMR cooking for Bacon Kimchi Fried Rice for you to follow.

classic kimchi fried rice

There are a lot of SPAM and I got this bread as there were not many choices left. SPAM – Portugeese Sasuage – so so only this spam. Do avoid as it doesnt have the spam fragrant.

kimchi fried rice (4)

I only use 2 slice from the whole can cuz there is only 2 of us.

Steps:

  1. Fried onion and garlic first, for about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Add in spam to fried for another 3 minutes
  3. add kim chi for a quick fry of 2 minutes
  4. Add in rice (do not use Basmati rice as it taste weird and the texture is not right) – normal jasmine rice should be ok.

15 minutes later. Tadaaaaa. My Korean Kimchi Fried Rice, topped with sunny side up.

My other home cook recipe:

  2. Spaghetti Vongole
  3. Dalgona Coffee
  4. Tau Yew Bak
  5. Pork Leg Cabbage
  6. Malaysia Curry Chicken

Among a few German restaurant that I have try, Brozaits still remain one of the top ones in my list. I have previously celebrated my birthday here 2 years ago (click here) and the food till date still remains. I must say the consistency of their food quality still remains till date, which I am impress.

Brotzeit® offers authentic Bavarian Cuisine accompanied by world-famous German beers in a chic and contemporary setting. Brotzeit®” is a typical Bavarian expression – “Brot” being German for bread and “Zeit” for time, referring to a cozy meal complemented by fresh beer.

brozeit (1)

The place remain unchange yet still one of a favourite hang out spot for many of my friends, which is easy to locate inside Mid Valley.

brozeit (2)

A few German Beer on tap for you to try on . .

brozeit (3)

as for this round I am here aftering for the tea time menu that offer more on Bar Bites selection.

brozeit (4)

Before our meal, of course must try on one of their latest German Beer that offer to us for the first time which is  Thurn and Taxis Fursten Gold Beer, a Marzen style brew is crafted in small batches in St. Emmeram Castle using the finest German malts, hops and yeast. This beer is usually served annually at St. Emmeram Fursten Gold Marzen Fest but you can now enjoy it at Brozeit. Light bitter end and its smooth for our heavy palate, a refeshing pint for the hot afternoon.

brozeit (5)

Mini Brozeit Platter – Cold Bavarian smorgasboard of obatzda, gouda, emmenthal cheeze, pork belley, leg of ham, pork liver pate and bacon spread served with a selection of German Bread @ RM 29

brozeit (6)

For those who want something like to go along with their beer, I would say this platter would be a great choices as its filled with a few selection for you to pair with. Cheeze & pate goes well with the new beer that offer a light aromatic bitter taste after it.

brozeit (7)

Gypsy Pork Belly Roll @ RM13 is pretty decent as there are 3-4 slices of pork belly roll and its something simple to munch as for those who do not like meat then Smoked Salmon Roll is alternative option. @ RM15

brozeit (8)

brozeit (9)

Seafood teaser @ RM15 – smoked salmon, seared tuna and prawn

brozeit (11)

Pork meat balls comes with a few slices of bread to dip onto the sauce along. Slightly sour end and the meat ball is soft and chewy which is just nice. Not too heavy and can share with 2 pax if you prefer something light. @ RM13

brozeit (12)

Breaded Camembert is one of my favourite, one of the reason because its cheeze and follow by the chef homemade special cranberry sauce. Mild in sweetness with sour end that pair with this very well. @ RM15

brozeit (13)

brozeit (14)

If you prefer something simple then Sausage Duet will be spot on. For RM13 you will get 2 types of sausages one is pork cheeze sausage and spicy chicken.

brozeit (15)

Comes to desserts, they are offering Cinnamon Sugar Apple Fritter on Vanilla Sauce and Orange Cream Cheese Flavoured Tiramisu. I find that the tiramisu is very unique as this is the first time I ate it in Cream cheeze as the traditionally its with mascarpone cheeze. Texture bout the same and the chef said its even better.

brozeit (16)

brozeit (17)

Another unique creation is Crispy Chocolate Bacon served with Lemon Pepper Marinated strawberries with apricot sauce and white chocolate mousse.

brozeit (18)

When it was served, I was dumbfold for a moment and ask the chef twice, are you serious in this. He said why not, sometimes is good to have something unique in the menu which is pretty true, for me I would sure end up ordering as its something I have yet tried. Great combination of the chocolate with bitter and and salty taste from the bacon. I did not taste weird and turn out to be pretty nice.

brozeit (19)

After all that we had 3 shots of Berentzen flavoured Schnapps , that turns out to be first to offer in Malaysia, that are made from natural juices of fresh sun-ripened fruits and Berentzen wheat spirit. Size is not the matter as the alcohol content ranges from 16-20%. We tried the Crisp Sweet Apple, Fruits of the Forest and Juicy Aromatic Plum –  find that apple is the best as it easy to drink, not too heavy and with fruity apple end.  It is priced at RM15 per bottle or RM60 for a set of 5 bottles, and for every 3 sets, you get a cute Berentzen shooter glass.

A new outlet that had just pop out in the neigbourhood of Damansara Kim. Tug in a quiet area but it had start to gain its fame thru online platform. We got to know that KomPassion one of a NON-Halal Thai food, then it makes us even more eager to try it out. Then decided to head to that outlet and do menu attack again..

kompassion (1)

kompassion (2)

I love the interior of the outlet which is creatively set up, that is very simple yet look elegant, with zink atap roof, wooden platform chairs on the side with pillows and lights below  . .

kompassion (3)

Water paip s as the support frame of the lap. .

kompassion (4)

A group of us sitting there quietly browsing on the menu, then got slightly excited as they offer quite a range of food to choose from and many new items or signature to hunt for. Price are slightly more expensive . .

As usual, when we go in a group of food bloggers without any invites, the usual still we will be equip with our gear – lights and camera. As the food came, every one in the restaurant were very curious on what we are doing. Then only the owners drop by our table to introduce themselves as Desmond Wong and Tan Huat Jin (who are brothers-in-law). Even better to know that both of them actually  teamed up with Chef Nikom Uatthong to set up this restaurant.

How the name Kompassion came up is they know the chef have alot of passion in cooking hence by using his last 3 character of his name and combine with this and that is how the name being created.

kompassion (6)

We started off with starter. KomPassion Chicken Wings @ RM17.90 A very simple dish that well marinated with spices and I was saying, if order a beer would have been perfect.

kompassion (7)

Stir Fried Kai Lan @ RM15

kompassion (8)

First pork dish and we are all excited, as The Paneang Curry Pork Loin came first..

kompassion (9)

A bit dissapointed on the other end as for the price of RM 35 its a rather small portion. Curry is thick with a hint of basil taste after that. Its not bad to go along with rice.

kompassion (11)

If you prefer something light and more soupy gravy, Green Curry Crispy Pork is the one that you should go after. Filled with basil leave taste, slightly creamy curry gravy and the pork cook along can still taste the crisp of the skin.@ RM35

kompassion (10)

Tom Yum Fried Rice with Grilled SeafoodRM18.90 , is cook in a healthy way with multi-grain brown rice is used and the serving came with grilled squid rings, a medium-sized prawn, crabsticks and salmon fillet. At the price I find this is very reasonable and rice being fried to fragrant and the sauce pairs very well, with seafood is fresh.

kompassion (15)

If you travel to Thai often, then many of us would not miss pork leg rice, as its the same in Kompassion Pork Leg Rice, when we saw this in the menu, its a must order. Pork meat is soft and juicy with gravy and the chili sauce that pair along is mild spicy and sourish end taste.  @ RM25.90

kompassion (13)

One of my favorite which is under KomPassion Special, we ordered the Double Cooked Pork Belly and Soft Shell Crabs with Cucumber Salad @ RM65. The pork skin is awesome, that its crispy on every bite and the meat is tender. Unami sauce that shower into it that makes the taste even better. Soft Shell crab on the other end fried to perfection till crisp and top with ebiko to make it even more bitefull feeling. – Recommended!

kompassion (14)

Tom Yum Fish @ RM45 with a spicy level of 2 (choose from 1-3, 3 being the spiciest). For those who cant really like spicy then would advise to go for level one. As the spiciness doesnt kicks in immediately, will suddenly shot up and I down a glass of water instantly. Its challenging yet I would not mind to go for level 3. 😀 Fish slices that cook along is soft and fresh. – recommended!

kompassion (16)

Tako @ RM10 is one of the signature in the outlet as its better for you to pre-order first when you are ordering your meal. Smooth coconut milk texture on the top and pandan base makes it hard to resist and and Ice Cream with Jackfruit and Red Ruby @ RM10, I find it pretty average..

Cheese cake are complimentary for us to try (bottom left)

In the end our bill came into RM 382.50 for 6 pax. Slightly more expensive than normal dining restaurant but its pretty satisfying with the offering in the restaurant. Surely will come back again as there are a few dishes that I am looking to back for.

Remark: do note that this is a Fusion Thai restaurant as the taste might not be at your expectation as the taste had been tweak.

If you are looking for some nice Thai food, surely this would be my another recommended restaurant.

Instagram really had made friends connected more and I do follow a bunch of hungry goers and whenever they always eat, sure they will insta first. I guess now insta had become a term of it. Nevertheless I came accross Kelly’s Insta when she said she had one of the best ajitsuke tamago, along with comment in this ramen shop is worth trying, can be rated as one of the best Ramen in KL City or within Golden Triangle is this Marutama Ramen.

Since I am in KL and its rainy Sunday yesterday, will make it a pit stop then. Located on 1st floor in Farenheit 88 located this Ramen Shop hidden at the back corner. Manage to find it thru Foursquare (I guess app now pretty usefull).

Mafu (1)

Mafu (2)

With traditional Japanese dining ambiance.

Mafu (3)

I never have enough when comes to ramen add on. Will usually top up.

Mafu (4)

Price in the menu are pretty decent, not only that, I am keen to try how their chicken broth will taste like. Since most of my favourite came from is with pork bone or pork soup.

Mafu (5)

They are being generous with the ingredient with unlimited fried garlic. I just took one slice and eat it just like that, crispy and flavourful. Just perfect to be added onto the ramen.

Mafu (6)

I will as always try on Gyoza (餃子) for RM10. I would say that one of a great quality gyoza that the ingredient that added in is pretty solid, soft meat with hint of ginger soak along chili oild and vinegar base make it nice to bite.

Mafu (7)

Among in the list, what attracted me the most is this combo Kakuni Tamago, @ RM 27 that have all the ingredient that I want, with ajitsuke tamago, slice pork and pork belly. When this was serve, I look down on this petite bowl and thinking will it ever fill my stomach, then quickly I took my spoon and sip on the soup base as very keen how chicken soup base would taste like. Surpise with the taste, thick and flavorful that I continuesly drinking for a few more sips before I stop.

Mafu (8)

Ramen is pretty springy in thinner version and it was not over cook.

Mafu (9)

This is what Kelly meant, and I have to agree with her that its one of the best egg with egg yolk can be ooze out and well season. Every bite is soft and I don mind to order 2-3 more for this. Its a must have in your ramen if you do come here.

I am surprise to dine ramen with such great soup base especially with Chicken Soup base. A soup base that had been boil for hours to make it thick and nice. As good as what others say. I surely dont mind to come back again to dine another round.
