Pork Meat

Browsing

One of the place that I have heard quite alot is this Sanbanto restaurant that serve premium pork. They do sell fresh pork meat on the spot and you can dine along in this little restaurant that have limited capacity. I have actually visited their 2nd outlet before heading to this one which is The Pork Place located in Puchong IOI Boulavard (click here for review). Its actually one of my favourite there, but find out there slight in consistency yet still good on overall.

Sunbanto (1)

Sunbanto (2)

As you walk in, you will be greeted with fridge filled with pork meat from all sort of part that is available and the price of pork in here is slightly above market rate but you can see the quality of meat is there.

Sunbanto (3)

See what I mean . . .

Sunbanto (4)

Sunbanto (5)

In Sanbanto cafe, you can also choose what kind of pork meat you need and cook instantly. You can choose from all available parts.

Sunbanto (6)

Pork Bacon sandwich was a total let down that they are like using Gardenia bread, bacon is over cook.

Sunbanto (7)

Sunbanto (8)

Sanbanto Bacon and Cheese Burger @ RM 17.00 (Sanbanto Home Made Patty with Straight Cut Fries). Not bad, as the patty is soft and just nice

Sunbanto (9)

Pork Bolognese with Home-Made Pappardelle @ RM 17. I have tried this in another branch and the taste is there. Like it and its the best among the rest.

Compare with both branch, I prefer the other outlet in Puchong – The Pork Place where I find that their food is much better than this outlet.

In KL it is quite hard to find some place that serve nice instant cook Pork Noodle, and as one of the recent introduction by my friend Ian that turns out to be  one of his favorite place when comes to Pork Noodle soup, Restaurant Hong Cha that serve a mixture of Japanese home made sushi and their mains are Pork Noodle Soup.

Hong Cha (1)

Located in the heart of OUG right whereby pasar area, or infront of BP station if I am not mistaken is filled with a side by side kopitiam that flank this shop.

Hong Cha (2)

As I was told by my friend, they do sell in the morning/ afternoon session right behind at the corner coffee shop that most people would know and pricing its slightly cheaper compare to this shop that only cater for night crowd.

Hong Cha (3)

Price are pretty decent and there are other options too if you dislike pork noodle.

Hong Cha (4)

Hong Cha (5)

I was highly recommend by Ian to go for dry option that it actually separate the soup and noodle. Look at those chunky pork lard that they have added in and shredded pork along.

Hong Cha (6)

Then serve along with a bowl of pork soup that filled with some seafood. ‘Pork and Seafood Mee’ @ RM 6.50.

Hong Cha (7)

They are pretty generous with the ingredient that being added in with chunks of pork meat and best of all, which for the first time I came across they added some seafood, squid and prawns to make the soup base more sweet. Slightly salty to my liking with a fried garlic and oil being added on to make it a perfect bowl. Looking at the additional item I can add, of course egg is a must to be added to make it even better.

Hong Cha (8)

Overall, I still prefer my pork noodle soupy version and this place is still quite a decent place to dine for pork noodle during night time.  By my list so far, I still love the stall at Restaurant Win Heng Seng for the instant cooking pork noodle at Jalan Imbi.

I have never been to Bali before, but its a must visit place for me very soon after I have got tempted by alot of my friends on their great scenery and especially on the food! Well, since I have not been there, and right now we can get a taste of how actually Balinese food taste like The UMA. I have actually dine at this restaurant a few times that I just did not blog about it and I guess I should now ..

uma (1)

The Uma which located in Kota Damansara next to the Strand that offers a great selection of Balinese food and best of all, its a shop that offers NON-HALAL food. The chef cum owner had work in Indonesia previously and decided to come back to spread Balinese cuisine to locals.

uma (2)

The whole interior was decorated to get as much feel of Balinese as possible, with wooden chairs and tables, and if you prefer something different for dining, you can head upstairs.

uma (3)

uma (4)

With simple decoration that put on the wall of scenery of paddy field, makes you feel like as if you are dining next to it and up in here, they do not have chairs, that offer to sit on the floor style with pillows for your comfort.

uma (6)

They are reasonably price with the portion they serve, you better opted to share and it is advice that for a pax of 3 person you order 2 person’s meal. If not enough then only decided to order extra.

uma (7)

Jus Apokat (Indonesian Avocado Juice) behind – RM 9
Fresh avocado & milk drizzled with chocolates! I am not a Avacado fan but its good, not too thick nor milky

Es Timun Segar (Fresh Cucumber, Lime and Mint juice) – RM 7
Refreshing cucumber mix with lime and some mint. Its the best drink among all, really a thirst quencher. I do not mind to have another 3 more glass. Highly recommended~

Our dinner was rather simple to order as in sets, a set that can just satisfy us that serve most of the authentic balinese food under one big plate. A meal with reasonable price and companion certainly we will be back for more again!

Worth a try as you get to sample different texture and taste of it and best of all I love their homemade style mustard sauce that goes along perferctl

Lastly that served up is their desert Apple Strudel , puffy crispy on the outside layer, not too sweet on the filling and eat along with ice cream is sinfull. Its just a great desert to end our superb meal.

Next heading to d’Italiane Kitchen (click here)

Sometimes to dine in a restaurant to give us good memory, food taste definitely will attract us to be back there as there is one new restaurant with its catchy name Chyniss Restaurant which a new restaurant located in SS2 mall that will serve best Chinese cuisine that combines into under one roof..

[Close Down]chyniss (1)

chyniss (3)

chyniss (5)

chyniss (6)

Tawau Special Fish Maw Soup with chinese wine. This huge bowl are able to serve 4-8 pax and if you love your soup to be rich in ingredient, this is one soup I am recommending. The ingredient in it is very generous that every spoonfull is chewable with it. Some people might not like it because of the texture or too rich in ingredient as we find it is just nice for all of us.

chyniss (7)

3 Cup chicken known as Sam Pui Kai

chyniss (8)

Which is surprisingly good, cuz it is similar to the taste that I had it when I was in Taiwan with strong taste and well coated sauce on the chicken and cook till soft. If you eat just like that, the taste might a bit too strong, and as along with rice, its just perfect. Basil leaves might look alot as I find it, the taste is not too strong.

chyniss (9)

Pork meat that had been soaked for a few days in herbs, comes this good dish ‘Salted Pork knuckle’. Look solid from its look, once you hear the cracking sound of the skin in betwee, that is where your saliva start dripping with its a bit salted herbs aroma filled the air. Pork lovers, this might be one of the dish for you to hunt for.

chyniss (10)

One of the most unique vegetable that for the first time I taste on it is called ‘Moonflower’ that is very nutritious that cook in clear fried style. Texture of it is very soft and abit soggy, as it was well fried in clear style.

chyniss (11)

Fried Garupa Fish with Thai style in plum sauce.

chyniss (12)

With fish meat been slice out with equal thickness then deep fried till its outer layer is crispy then showers along with the sauces. Normally, I do not really take fish, as the fish meat is very fresh and the best is the sauce that soaks onto the crispy skin and soft fish meat.

chyniss (14)

Next dish that open our eyes big big is by serving this huge ‘Crab in Kam Heong style’.It was well fried with wok hei and taste of kam hiong just soak onto the crab shell and meat. We just enjoy this dish.

There are three sizes of crabs available here at Chyniis; Indonesian Mud Crab in medium (RM50 per kg) and large (RM75 per kg) size, and Australian Mud Crab which is huge (RM120 per kg).

chyniss (13)

Next that me and Jason really like it is this, ‘Sauteed Lai Mien’ . love the texture of the noodle which is springy and well fried. Recommended~

chyniss (15)

One man behind this great this is this chef that had been one of the neigbourhood for many years. . No wonder all his dish that prepared are very aromatic and delicious.

chyniss (16)

One of the most unique desert that you must try, but it is not always available, depends on your luck if the chef do prepare it for the day.

I have no doubt that this is one of a recommended restaurant if you are hunting for nice chinese food both the aroma and taste will thrill you. The restaurant is also conveniet that jockey service is available directly infront of the restaurant for arond RM4-RM5.

Another Puchong discovery as I felt that there are alot of food outlet in this area. One of the latest discovery is this shop LSY-Pot which their signature is on claypot. One of famous chinese eatery by using claypot to cook the rice and with some add on ingredient as I love my version with alot of chinese sausage and one chunk of salted fish.

Oriental Claypot Chicken Rice @ RM6.90 small, RM13.50 large

This is how I like my claypot chicken rice to be, aromatic of a bit chinese wine, chinese sausage and the most important is they use a very good quality of salted fish.

If you prefer your Claypot chicken rice to be seperated out, they can do it ‘Chicken served on a plate on top of white rice’. To me, this taste better than the mixture of everything inside the claypot, as it manage to seperate the taste out of it and the watery gravy on top of it perfect to go along with rice!
