I always satisfy my craving for Ramen (Menya Musashi) inside Isetan as this new Japanese Eatery, area EAT PARADISE  was added since Isetan open its door in 1-Utama. I only always walk on the customer service side wing and never did I even bother to walk on the other side, till I read Bangsarbabe’s blog on this restaurant, Tonkatsu by Ma Maison, I was like why did I never walk to that area.

tonkatsu (2)

Before you walk into the outlet, they have a huge cabinate located at the near entrance that feature all their food and what you can expect when its been serve. I must say the portion is pretty huge.

This cozy little area hidden in the back corner of Eat Paradise house this Tonkatsu by Ma Maison. Ambiance is cozy and all staff are friendly.

Menu are pretty straight forward as they only serve Tonkatsu series and there are a few types for you to choose from. I am quite impress that they design the menu and order of food like steak. Small portion with about 180-250G of meat(your choice of selection chicken or Pork), or large with 250g and above if not mistaken. All order comes with rice, soup and unlimited refill of cabbage. For rice we get to choose White rice or Multi grain rice for healthy selection.

tonkatsu (8)

Before you dine, we are given a little ball of Oroshi (white reddish) with tamari dressing to eat before the main course. I read on the pamplets, the reason of this is to help refresh the palate and digestive process. Interesting.

tonkatsu (10)

On the table itself, they have special sauce, soy sauce, sesame, sesame dressing.

tonkatsu (11)

tonkatsu (12)

On the table there is a guide for you to show how should we eat our meal.

tonkatsu (9)

I ordered extra with Potato Salad @ RM 5.90 Something simple, not to heavy mayonnaise and its a perfect balance. Love it~

tonkatsu (13)

Here comes my Nameton Set @ RM 32.90

tonkatsu (14)

Its a mix with fried prawn, pork loin & Pork fillet. Both the prawn and pork were fried to perfection with crisp on outlayer and pork is still moist and juicy. Prawn is very fresh and pressing lemon brings extra taste in it.

tonkatsu (15)

Dipping with Mayonnaise is not one of the best option for pork but goes well with my prawn.

tonkatsu (16)

The miso soup is way too salty for my liking.

tonkatsu (26)

On my set also comes with Tonjiru, noodle is cook well, warm enough to finish the whole thing in seconds.

tonkatsu (17)

 My healthy multi grain rice.

tonkatsu (18)

On our tray we have a sauce tray that we follow on the instruction for our pork cullet dipping area.

tonkatsu (25)

with Salt, spicy sauce and original sauce.

tonkatsu (19)

Jumbo Rosu Katsu Set @ RM 28.90

tonkatsu (20)

Jumbo means you have your pork loin in bigger cutting.

tonkatsu (21)

and look at how the pork is being fried, will still pale red meat left behind  and with well balance of fats in between makes it yummy!

tonkatsu (22)

Love the wasabi mustard that pairs uniquely with the tonkatsu.

tonkatsu (23)

as all our set comes with finely cut vegetable and of course dressing for it is to enhance the flavour and I ended up refill twice. The sauce is perfectly good~

tonkatsu (24)

Since our sets doesnt have  Tonkatsu house special miso sauce I ordered it and try. I prefer their house special sauce. @ RM 2.

tonkatsu (27)

It looks pretty decent when it was serve and Anna end up cannot finish her jumbo Rosu which is about 300g of pork.

Tonkatsu is not bad but certainly one of the best I have come across so far. Price I think its slighlty expensive compare to the normal ones. Worth to give it a try.

Japanese food would be consider one of a food temptation that hard to resist by many people, especially served with fresh sashimi along with sake would be the perfect but fresh sashimi itself would be enough to kill most of us.

Enju

One of the latest introductions to us is Japanese Master Chef Heiji Kasuga and we were privilege to get a chance to have him cook for us. He’s 46 years of experience in cooking Japanese Cuisine both traditional and fusion that makes his cooking style unique and more authentic.

Enju (2)

The California and Ebi Tempura Maki was good as the rice is more sticky yet not too wet  which is just perfect to make a sushi roll, with the ingredient in it makes it simple and nice dish to start off with.

Enju (3)

Assorted Makimono

Enju (4)

ENJU Dynamite Roll was made from fresh salmon, cucumber, flying fish roe, tempura flakes, avocado and sushi rice wrapped in dry seaweed. One of the best I had so far as the really use pure ingredient with minimal of rice and the salmon is very fresh. RM22

Enju (5)

Sashimi Fuji @ RM140

If you are looking for something fresh to tantalize your mouth, this platter would be something you would not want to miss, with variety of fresh sashimi are served in one plate, I surely do not mind having the whole plate by myself if I can. Most pieces of the sashimi are quite juicy and dipping it with wasabi is just heaven.

Enju (6)

Murugai Yaki @ RM32

Grilled Mussel is grilled perfectly that manage to make the meat still soft and juicy, by topping up with a bit of cheese on it and by putting it in your mouth, it is burst with flavors.

Enju (7)

Maguro Yamakake @ RM29

Cod fish was grilled to perfect by the small chunk of fish able to spread into slices when put it in our mouth in it is soft and fragrant

Enju (8)

Soft Shell Crab Karaage @ RM28

When this was served, the smell of it get us eager to try it out and goodness, it was crispy that served along with potato salad that I can just finish the whole scoop by myself

Enju (9)

Curry Udon  @ RM28

One of the classic taste that I miss a lot as I was not able to find many places that can cook nice curry Udon, and I would say this is one of the best curry udon that I have had so far with mild and sweet curry flavor that is a bit thick and creamy in taste yet the udon was cook wholly that its not too soft yet not too hard.

If you love something homecook or authentic Japanese food, Enju is one of the place you would want to dine in and with their new promotions, its worth trying out.

I have try so many burger in KL and still cannot compare to Penang Burger stall. The weird thing in KL was their burger special is egg only. Why they don call it burger Egg. In Penang Burger special is everything, with cheeze and egg.
This is one of the big time favourite of mine for Ramlee burger. You have to wait for quite some time and it is worth all the waiting as after you eat the burger you will ‘Wah…Satisfied’
You can also called up and pre order and go 15-30 mins later to pick up. This is the best way to do it.

This is the burger stall infront of the Jelutong Post Office that is why it is called Pos Burger. The business is always very good, whereby there is none that you go and will be your turn. Always have to wait.

This is the menu you can order from. Customise request like mine can be ordered upon

What is so special about this burger stall compare to the rest was they have their very own potato salad and their own mix of vegies. That is why it is much special compare to the rest.

Tadaaa..this is my very own personal favourite that I always order, ‘Burger Special with Sausage’. RM 4.80 for this. The taste is with black peeper and some mayonnaise with less SOS. That makes the whole burger very juicy.

If you do go to Penang and hunt for food at night, this stall would be highly recommended by me.

This is my second visit to this restaurant. My friend introduce me to this place beginning of the year. Then suddenly thought of eating Dorae Korean BBQ and thought of this restaurant.

The boss and the son is very kind and friendly. One thing you must know that the staff here are alot. Really alot.

You will be given a bowl of soup to start of with. The soup is nice, filled with cabbage and taste abit like miso soup.
The garlic in olive oil is heated in the BBQ pitt.
Jason is so excited till he has to msg his friends about this.
For the starter, there are alot of variety to choose from, as what I remembered in the beginning of the year, the starter was not this choices, they have potato salad. Then I was told that they change occasionally. To keep fresh ideas so that customer don eat the same thing.
This is the ‘Ginseng Chicken Porridge’. I thought it would be very nice, strong with ginseng taste. I can say that, it is tasteless, it is not what I expected, would have some taste of Ginseng and the wine thing. This dish is totally out. Would not recommend to friends or readers.
This is the ‘Korean Pancake’. It is someting like other ordinary pancake, the taste is different. It is something simple and nicely cook. I would recommend this dish.
I remembered that they ‘Pork’ is nice. why is it nice, see the process then you will understand why. First Grilled…then…
Turn the side, so the other half can be cooked
Cheng Cheng Cheng…….It is done, nicely cooked by one of the helper..Thank you!!! The pork that they cooked out, is juicy, and with the sauce that they have marinated, is strongly preserved. So when you take one bite of it, you can feel the softness, sweetness of the marinated sauce and dip with the sauce given, is totally perfect.
This is the ‘Lamb’ my personal favourite. Cook with the marinated herbs that they have deep seasoned it.
The nicely golden brown yet not so burn lamb is ready to be eaten….. I like this alot because when you bite it, you can taste the herbs and the marinated sauce something like teriyaki sauce in your mouth. The lamb that they use is so soft, not like some satay stalls you bit it cant bite through the skin of it.
The best way to eat these BBQ is to take the cabbage they put on table, then wrap on it and eat it in. I will just taste so so so nicee….
This is the ‘Beef’. Disappointed with this 1, as the slices of the skin is a bit thick. Scared that it might be overcooked or never cooked. You know la..with the ‘bangla’ at work. Hardly communicate

This is what it had came out. Disappointed. Asking us what we want, we requested medium rare. Based on the picture and the real thing was just in front of me, I would say this looks a bit like ‘ Bak Kua‘. did not manage to finish this dish because not nice, hard, no juicy. You have to look at the meat when they cook, how you like it just take it up instead of BBQ’ing in there for too long till so dry.

This I totally do not have idea what is it call as it is the complimentary of the restaurant. Looks like chawanmushi, but does not taste like one.

Jason is like Hahahaha…we also manage to finish all the food. We really GILA… 1 thing for sure most of us will like, the service here is amazing, 2 tables for 1 waiter. So it is like lightning fast if you need anything. Standby just for you. With all the lovely dish, we do not need to cook ourselves, they are the chef, specially trained, would not say professionally.
