One of the latest addition to the F&B area in Jaya One is this new outlet Malones Irish Restaurant & Bar. The brand itself is no stranger to us as they have a few outlets located in prime location in KL shopping malls.

Malones (1)

Jaya One which is their latest outlet and one of the new findings to me is that this would be their first Non-Halal outlet as the rest are all pork free.

Malones (2)

Love this outlet as it provides modernise classic ambiance with all rustic furniture in the outlet that provides a very comfortable dining and drinking place. Been one of my hang out spot for drinks after work . .

Malones (3)

According to their Managing Director ““We want Malones to be the most loved Irish restaurant and bar in the Klang Valley. People come to Malones to be themselves, to unwind, and to have a great time with their friends.”

Malones (4)

Besides that, Mr. Andrew Reddy said, “The reason we selected Jaya One for our latest Malones outlet is because of its strategic location in the well-established commercial district of Section 14. We are definitely excited with the opening of our fifth outlet in one of the most happening part of Petaling Jaya and we look forward to serving folks in and around PJ with Malones’ special brand of hospitality.”

Malones (5)

As currently they are doing promotion for their new opening, we can get 3 pint of Guinness or Tiger for only RM48nett. That’s how I ended up here.  . 😀 also that they serve 6 types of draft beers.

To add on to the excitement, 30 pints of Guinness is given out free daily for a limited time – guests have to locate the QR code on the lift doors at Jaya One to download the e-voucher. (I know where is it) :p

So for the night, we kick start our meal with Porky Platter @ RM 37.90 –  Traditional Crackling Pork Belly, BBQ Ribs and Pigs in Blanket. Served with shallot vinegar, BBQ sauce and mustard.

A simple platter that I love to go along with my beer as what been serve pair well with it as the pork ribs are well marinated with bbq sauce, followed by roast pork dip with their special vinegar sauce and sausage with bacon dip with their special mustard sauce just perfect.

Malones (9)

Paddy steak Sandwich @ RM28.90 – Irish style steak sandwich. Served with poached egg and mustard spread with deep fried sliced russet potatoes on the side.

Malones (10)

If this steak sandwich is done medium then it would be a perfect sandwich with its poach egg semi hard that with one easy poke the yolk flowing out.

Malones (11)

One of my favourite for the night is this Irish Sausages on Colcannon and Guiness Onion Gravy @ RM29.90 – Grilled pork sausages served with Guinness onion gravy and Colcannon (cabbage and spring onion mash). Well prepared that the gravy is just nice, not too salty  and serve along with different types of sausages and best of all is their mash potato. Silky smooth and aromatic, we just kept digging it non stop.

Malones (12)

Of course with all porky dish being serve, how could we not have alcohol being order as enjoying along with my Guinness. . .

Malones (13)

BBQ Ribs @ RM49.90(Full) – Full back pork ribs slow cooked until fall-off-the-bone tender. Served with BBQ sauce, chips and coleslaw

One of the place that I used to travel 3 times a year is Jakarta. One of the country that I have many friends that can bring me for nice food. As for this would be my first posting upon arrival at Jakarta as we took KLM Royal Dutch Airlines as the fare is just only RM30 diff from Air Asia yet in KLM they arrange me for emergency exit space which is for the first time of my life took that space for return ticket. They provide superb customer service too . . Cafe Dermaga

Well, my air flight return just cost me RM 360 for economy class which I would say its a bargain. For this round heading to Jakarta for one of my best friend wedding also to see all my friends there. Trip is pretty tight in schedule and upon arrival, Lina came pick us up. . 🙂

cafe dermaga (1)

Then I told her I want spicy noodle that last time my friend used to bring me too. It was 5 years ago since I last went there and also the small little warung had turn into a cafe now. Cafe Dermaga is located in one of the prime location called Pantai Mutiara, which is a housing area that alot of super rich Indonesians are staying. Why I said that, you will see in the next few pictures.

cafe dermaga (2)

A cafe that have turn into a prime spot which is pretty well known for its spicy noodle and now they serve western, local cuisine.

cafe dermaga (10)

this is the signature dish that most of the people would come here for, a spicy noodle that you can choose the level of spiciness to be added on from Level 1 – 5 if I am not mistaken. We try not to be too hero as I know the spiciness in Indonesia is far more than the arverage Malaysians can take. So we opted for LVL 3. .

If you think you can eat very spicy, then go for level 5 . . and Iwish you luck that your lipes doesnt turn into German Sausage. 😀

In simple, I would say it as Indonesian Wan Tan Mee, as it filled with chicken slices, and the noodle is definately springy as my friend told me that they made in house. After mix with the chili, it really makes you scratch your head then sweat will flow out after a few bites. My friend she cant really take the spiciness and end up we finish half. I still find that last time it used to taste much better. . Well, if you are heading to Jakarta for the first time, this is a shop with trying for their Bakmi Sakaw

cafe dermaga (11)

Then Lina order Gelato which is made in house or consider a local brand themself. The ice cream is smooth and chocolate have the richest flavor of all.

This is what I mean why Pantai Mutiara house some of the richest Indonesians is because behind their house, there are a dockyard and not to exaggerat, some of the house have 4-5 boats. SIAU EHH!!!! and you can see some of the most unique house design over here. Its definitely a eye opener for my friend.

After read a few post on history as this restaurant at Singapore which alot people recommending not to be miss. . As for Malaysians now, need not have to travel so far to enjoy such a beer that Craft Brews is a Non-Halal Restaurant is the latest addtion to our very local F & B market that all of us can enjoy their special brew beers by locating themselves one of the prime location in Mutiara Damansara.

Craft Brew

Craft Brew (2)

Love their, dim lighting, modern contemporary style yet setting off a soft music on the background had put this place into my list for gathering and hang outs also love their waiter and waitress outfit.

Craft Brew (3)

One of the special beer brew from Singapore that serve on tab along with Monster Green Lager and English Ale.

Craft Brew (4)

At this bar area, you will see pipes pressure gauges and levers around the bar area design with international microbrewery look.

Craft Brew (5)

Craft Brew (6)

Yet we get a warm welcome with a box and a letter that contains our names and a few small packets teaching us how to brew our very own beer.

Craft Brew (7)

Wide range of drinks to select from and to be enjoy.

Craft Brew (8)

When I walked to this area, I got very surprise to see a beer in GREEN COLOUR? This would be my very first encounter and that is the beer that I must try first. The beer starts with (from right to left) Czech Pilsner, English Ale, Monster Green Lagger, Weizen (wheat beer).
Ended up my favourite of the night was Czech Pilsner and Monster Green Lager. Love the smoothness and the barley and wheat boil brew of the taste individually.

Craft Brew (9)

Everyone hit on the food which looks finger licking good.

Craft Brew (10)

Craft Brew (11)

‘Honey Mustard Ribs’ as I used to hate mustard years ago and now I have learn how to enjoy the taste of it. With a bit of honey sweetness that had been grill till the honey had soak into the ribs yet mustard seasoning which is a bit sour just combines both of the flavor very well as I am swallowing my saliva while looking at this pic recalling the taste.

Craft Brew (12)

Craft Brew (13)

Follow by ‘Mex-Tex Ribs’, juicy and succulent yet soft from the inside out with the seasoning that grill on the grill er is something we just do not want to miss out. I clean the ribs solid clean till the bone got dry after left a while on the plate.

Craft Brew (14)

After some chatting, eating and drinking, we are on to our Beer lesson. How do we enjoy our beer to the best.

Craft Brew (15)

All of us looking so serious and paying attention to our class.

Craft Brew (16)

One of the lesson is how do you enjoy the ‘Monster Green Lager‘ the best taste of it, is to eat along with a piece of bacon, that the saltiness that add in a layer on your tongue yet you drink with he smoothness, aromatic beer that wash away with the saltiness on the tongue add in extra kick on it. Its like red wine with steaks.
It was a great experience with Craft Brews with great food and beers. Surely I would return for their food as the price range is kinda reasonable and of course all credits to Hsu Jen for the special invites.
