It has been a while since I wake up early head out for breakfast till my friend came to my house and drag me out. Usually I will have a simple breakfast at home, either cereal or bread spread with peanut butter. It was not that early when my friend came pick me as she brought me to one of her favourite Hainanese breakfast food place to eat.

This little hawker area that operate in Taman Midah, in front of Public Bank if I am not mistaken. All these hawker area, do not have a proper name like Ah Meng Kopitiam or something something that you are able to recognize as this stall is famous among its neighborhood.

Cheras (1)

It is a very busy stalls and the amount of customers packing up this place is amazing, even the tables and chairs have to be extended to some parking lots or infront of some shop houses.

Cheras (2)

Price is pretty cheap  . .

Cheras (3)

Full house as we reach 11am . . As we start ordering, quite number of items had been sold out left with only 2-3 items in the menu, as we got no choice  . .. Look around to see what other customers order the most and turns out to be :

Cheras (4)

Curry Mee @ RM 4.40 is one of the famous dish here I suppose that 70% of people are eating this or are only left with this few choices. Its pretty unique that I did not know that Hainanese Curry Mee is a very simple version that filled with ‘cockles, taupok and pig skin’. Its a very simple dish actually that taste is just perfect for not heavy taste bud eater. Mild curry fragrant santan taste that is not so spicy and I ask for another scoop of chili to make it fiery red, yet its not too spicy. I guess have to just enjoy a plain style in the morning.

Cheras (5)

Scouted another thing is most of the customer’s there order Kopi and the colour of it looks good! solid dark brown that show’s the umph of the coffee. . .Order in 2 version, one cold and one hot.

Cheras (6)

Hot Kopi – its thick in flavour and you can taste strong robust coffee flavor and just comes to my liking. Perfect way to enjoy my morning coffee. . – REcommended – either in cold or hot.

Cheras (7)

Prawn Mee @ RM 4.40 serve in small decent bowl that looks just fine for me on breakfast. Soup base looks pale yet can smell the taste of being cook with prawns. First sip of soup amaze me that it had a Penang version Har Mee and the slight different this Hainanese stall version bends towards more sweet. Taste pretty good tho.

Cheras (8)

After finish our meal and look around wonder why so many people order Wan Tan mee, and we decided to order along. Noodle is slight springy and I see many people order it in curry soup base. Then I put into my curry soup and turns out to taste better. If you do order this, order for Curry soup base with Wantan noodle.

This stall operate from 7am-12pm daily (I think)

Cheras (9)

I know its a bit hard to explain on this place, therefore I took some pictures on how to recognise it.

Cheras (10)

And there is only 1 bus stop here.

Cheras (11)

After finish our breakfast, she brought me to hunt another stall which is famous for ‘Ham Chi Peng’ which is a few stalls away from then Hainanese stall. Filled with variety that you can choose from and its family operate business.

Cheras (13)

Dad making the dough . .  Mom frying on it and son taking orders and take away. Friendly uncle. . .

Cheras (12)

One of my friends favourite is the Prawn Fritters that sells here. as in the picture you can see its on the far right.

Cheras (14)

Cheras (16)

Prawn fritters are good, crispy on outside and all edges and soft on inside. Add on with their chili sauce just pair very well. Do drop by to this stall if you are here for the Hainanese breakfast. Worth to buy as its cheap too . .:)

For morning breakfast that you prefer something not so solid in taste then this is one of the stall that you can drop by. I am sure that i will be coming back to try out their other stuff by being early.

During this season, if you are craving for Japanese food, this is the restaurant that you should be looking for. My very first time encounter Vegetarian Japanese Restaurant.

A Japanese sushi menu.

While I was looking at the menu, then do not know what to order and I ask the person to introduce me what is their signature then she request me to try out ‘Shin Yu Sushi’. Even though the structure doesnt look nice but it was something that can cure my craving. Its nice. RM6
Then for my main I order Miso Udon doesnt comes near to my taste but as it rejects the flavor. Nothing near to the taste of Miso soup and the mushroom taste had overpower most of the ingredient in there. RM8
Besides Japanese food, they still do offer alot of stir fried end on their wall, there are a few newspaper cutting mentioning on their dishes even though I do not know how to read Chinese. For this round I am giving what I eat above. Might try out their stir fried if got chance.

For the first round I didn’t manage to find this restaurant as double K’s told me is along that stretch of Public bank and just right beside it. I have turn in rounds to make sure the place or I wasn’t too concentrate on searching. After the very next day I told them they said cannot be what, then only realize that the last time the dine was few years back. Maybe change location or Chap lap liau (bankrupt). Google it up for a while manage to locate one just on the junction of that street. Since its nearby, so go and try la, it was good and this posting will be my first and second visits of this place. Its located behind Times Square.

This was my very first visit and I came alone as in KL not many people go vegetarian during this festival. Its only a in thing happening in Penang. For me to try out veggie shop is to try out their curry. As, if they can cook a curry well, means the rest of the dish would be good. That’s what I think. So try out their very simple dish.

‘Curry Chicken Rice’ Love the curry, a bit mild spicy yet the thickness level is there, not too watery and the chicken was cook alike. A great single meal. RM8.90, comes with a ‘Lemon Tea or Lemon Coke’ and Ice cream which I think its a great deal.

Then last night I went there again to try out their stir fried. When we reach we were like fulamak! So many people, full house. Luckily there is a table paying at the moment as I was in the hurry. Then looking at the stir fried menu with picture looks good on a few dish also.

We manage to pick:

‘Honey Pork Meat’. The portion is just nice for 2 person and the first bite you will be surprise how tasty it is. The texture is similar to char siew and amazingly the sauce that they use feels like this dish is also been roasted out.RM10
‘Butter mixed Mushroom’, butter taste is there but the chili leaves had overpower most of the flavor yet we still enjoy this dish as to steal some of the gravy to accommodate with rice. RM15

another dish that would be a great companion of a rice.’Ma Po Taufu’ RM10

If you are looking for something reasonable that serve good quality of Vegetarian food, I would surely say this restaurant is in my recommendation list also. What we had would be just nice for a 3 person instead of a 2 person.

My friends from Indonesia came over to visit me, so as usual for night supper what I usually bring my friends go is Murni. I feel that the food is nice and the price is reasonable. One bad thing about here is, if you are very hungry, this would not be a place I would recommend as sometimes, have to wait extremely long for your food to arrive. There are times that I waited for an hour.

Surprisingly for that night, the food came pretty instant. Just order and came around 3 mins later. Which I also kacau the guy, saying that ‘ eh eh, this is the orang cancel order 1 iziit?’ he laugh and walk away. But the food is warm and hot. Just out from the kitchen. Told my friend that she was lucky tonite that the food serve so fast. Maybe knowing that, there are tourist s eating, so priority 1st.

So this round decided to try the ‘Roti Dragon’ which waited for around 15 minutes cost RM10.
I have never tried out this before but knowing that it is one of the famous item there but but but when I cut open, it is like chicken pie full with filling.

The taste is extremely good, the sauce taste is abit creamy, like mushroom soup, the slices of ham in there is a lot and huge, the chicken cubes and slices also a lot. It is like a mixture of mushroom soup and chicken pie to make it like this. The sauce on top of the skin is tomato puree which is to make their spaghetti bolognaise which goes perfectly well with the serve. The nan skin is soft and warm.

By just eating one of this, is enough to kill you off. We eat it till the very last bite. With the price tag on this dragon, I feel its pretty reasonable for such a huge dragon and also ingredient in it.

I used hate Murni when I was in the college days because the taukeh speak only malay but cannot denied that the business had been whooping good and for the 1st time in my life that a chinese can open a mamak stall with such a good daily business and crowds. The shocking 1 was he conquer the whole street. Never seen in PG before. So recently been constantly me and my friends hang out area.
This is in my hot list favourite which is the ‘Spaghetti Carbonara. With the pricing of RM8 per plate, I am well satisfied with the serving comes in lost of sausages, chicken meat and of course lots of sauce and must tell them you want it hot. If not they will just take the ready made on the side area and pass it to you. That the QC would not be there and it wont be as nice as it is.
2nd in my Fav hotlist also the Roti Hawaii’. With the price of RM5 and the ingredient which they are not kedekut with, it is satisfying, filled with whole piece of chicken burger piece, small chicken cubes and pineapple. But today one was quite cold. So it taste so so only, usually it had one also not enough that type.

This drink I would never miss. Every time that I go, this is the only drink that I order and also in Jumbo size. It is the ‘Mango Special’. RM5 for this also. Filled with nata de coco, watermelon, longan and lychee. not only 1 or 2 pieces, it is many piece to stuff your mouth with.

‘Honey Dew Special’ will be next in the list as filled with the same thing but more milky abit thats what I feel. Compare to Mango, still feel mango taste nicer. RM5 for this.

Of course with the reasonable price and the serving is big, we do not mind coming back.
