Food selection here is pretty interesting as the shop name noodles gave me the impression that they going to serve lots of types of noodle but its a good mixture, find that their Pan mee would be their signature.

dai ban (7)

We did quite order a number of drinks that night, with many using fresh ingredient especially passion fruit series that caught my attention with lemon and asam.

dai ban (8)

Dry chili with shrimp here is good as we just ate it like that and very aromatic to go along with noodle and not spicy. Next to it is sambal here is definately will give you extra kick as its homemade and spicy enough to make you sweat

dai ban (9)

We order some starter to start with. As this was serve, Salted Egg Squid smells very good with the trail of salted egg left along and no doubht that it taste as good as it smells. Cripsy with golden brown crust outside that fried to perfection. RM 11.90

dai ban (14)

Crunchy Prawn Roll @ RM7.90

dai ban (15)

Smoked Duck is price @ RM 8.90 and I would say its cheap. At that kind of price it give me doubht on the quality of it and the dish itself proves me wrong. The taste of smoked is strong, just the way I like it. Recommended

dai ban (10)

Dai Ban Pork Burger, find that the patty is a bit peppery as no doubt its thick and juicy top with cheese and dark charcoal bun, accompanied by the crispy golden wedges on the side. Not the best I have come across as it can be further improve on the taste. @ RM 15.90

dai ban (11)

dai ban (12)

Traditional Handmade Dai Ban Mee is one of the signature in the outlet for the handpeel series. @ RM 6.50

dai ban (13)

dai ban (16)

This is one of the dish that capture my attention instantly when I was browsing thru Claypot Pumpkin & Pork Rib Congee @ RM10.90. Serve pippin hot in claypot with golden yellow texture and I must say this is one of the winner in the outlet. Very soft and smooth congee, with little sweet end aromatic and pork ribs pairs well. – Recommended

dai ban (17)

One of the highly recommended by me would be Lemon Grass Pork Chop with Fried Rice @ RM 12.90. Pork chop cook to perfection that its not too hard yet season to fragrant and soft and they are quite generous with it as the pork chop is pretty huge. Fried rice pairs well with it. I must say its one of the simple dish I have come across.

Ahhhh, finally a place whereby I can truely enjoy my dessert with quite a good selection, quality and reasonable price. I have always like cakes and even did consider myself taking up patisserie course to satisfy my cravings at random times. Nosh is the place certainly would be one of the place that I will be back hunting whenever I am craving for dessert.

nosh (1)

Nosh is one of the shop that had been just establish for the past 6 months and already well known to its neighborhood in Bangsar. The person behind this whole establishment is a person who have passion and love towards dessert. What can we expect is as below.

nosh (3)

A shop which is not really big but certainly a comfort place for dining with friends and family. To show you their passion on dessert, they have build a separate counter just to prepare all their dessert to ensure quality and freshness of their product. Not only that, of course other food are also available.

nosh (4)

Some cakes available for you to choose from ..

nosh (5)

For some food, we started off with Smoked Salmon Salad @ RM29. Filled with Crisp greens tossed with tangy vinaigrette and slices of smoked salmon. Its something simple and light to start off with, little sour end of the dressing and the potato is well boiled till its soft. I enjoy every bite of it. Salmon is fresh.

nosh (6)

Next dish is Pumpkin & Smoked Chicken Risotto @ RM38 had turn it into our favourite. Cleverly play with ingredient with healthy option, this risotto, delicately sweetened by the pumpkin and the smoked chicken pieces  pairs perfectly well that are thin slice yet very aromatic, with little cheeze slices on it. It wont be too cheezy at the end and I can actually finish this whole plate by myself.

nosh (7)

Lamb Gnocchi @ RM38  is something that soft and filled your stomach instantly. Sweet potato gnocchi in a lamb ragout cooked with red wine is very flavourful and the lamb cook till soft and filled with flavor

nosh (8)

Before our dessert menu start, I was introduce by Ann to try out their chocolate signature drink, Trinity Chocolate. Chocolate lovers would not want to miss this as there are 3 special ingredient to add up this flavorful chocolate drink. I must say one of the near perfect chocolate drink I have come across, slightly thick yet very smooth. Highly Recommended!

nosh (9)

Chocolat Orange (comprise with alcohol)

Chocolate lovers will fall in love with this as its rich in chocolate filled with Grand Marnier-flavoured chocolate mousse, glazed with dark chocolate and with little line of citrusy orange. Slightly in bitter end and surely will goes well with a cup of coffee.

nosh (10)

Earl Grey Creme Brulee is one of the dessert that you must  not miss if you are a tea lover. Aromatic earl grey flavour yet did not overpower the rest of it and just delectable. – Recommended

nosh (11)

Creme Au Chocolate

Baked chocolate cream paired with a tangy fruit of the forest mousse and served with a delicate crunchy nutty tuile.

nosh (12)

Coconut Panna Cotta

Something to chill on your mouth with local tropical twist? Panna Cotta – with addition of coconut cream, served with pandan-infused palm sugar and topped with a crunchy tuile.

nosh (15)

Strawberry Cheesecake

One of Nosh’s signatures is a pretty dessert,  topped with fresh strawberries and pistachios follow with French cream cheese, this  cheesecake is nice.

nosh (13)

Sweet Potato Azuki Gateaux

I find this dessert look weird at first glance then only further understand that its actually a deconstruct dessert that they have come out with their creativity. Green tea sponge chiffon sponge cake generously filled with twirls of sweet potato mousse and topped with rich azuki red beans.  Good for some one who prefer less sweet.

nosh (16)

Lemon Peach Tart

Another deconstructed dessert is buttery crumble with cubes of peaches, tangy lemon curd and topped with crunchy swirls of ginger filo pastry with a light dusting of ground cinnamon.  I love this too as its something unique that I have come across and filled with sweet sour taste.

nosh (14)

Walnut Tiramisu with alcohol

Another deconstructed version: rich chocolate sponge soaked in espresso and fine port wine, complemented by luscious creamy mascarpone, caramelized walnuts and generous dusting of dark cocoa powder.

nosh (19)

Apple Cinnamon Cake

Something warm and cold then Apple butter cake, filled with light cinnamon, is served with Nosh’s own gourmet vanilla bean ice-cream topped with crunchy sliced almonds on a bed of warm creme anglaise and for added flavours, a drizzle of butterscotch sauce.

This would be like a limited edition cake that is only available from May till June… just perfect for your Mother’s Day and Father’s Day celebrations!

nosh (17)

Black Forest Pavlova with contains alcohol

Among so many dessert, I love this the most which is also the well presented desserts in Nosh. The chocolate meringue lusciously topped with a rich indulgent chocolate mousse, decorate with dark cherriesand fresh strawberries.  Drops of zingy raspberry coulis dots the design on the plate for a gorgeous presentation. Love the chocolate flavour with crips on the body and the fruits on top pairs perfectly well. Not too sweet and perfect to my likings. Highly recommended!

nosh (20)

End with a glass of Latte and Trinity Chocolate is the clear winner in their warm drinks.

nosh (21)

If you love ice cream, its actually made fresh by them and no doubt that all of flavors are good and sorbet its a must not miss.

nosh (22)

Hahaha, its pretty true though if you have not dined well. Feed well on yourself.:D

No doubt that I would highly recommend this place for cake lovers with their huge selection of cakes that made fresh and price is absolutely cheap with their quality that they have.

[Update: 1/5/2016 – now have move to SS2)

Damansara Uptown is famous for a eatery place whereby we can hunt a few nice place to eat with a great mix. One of the latest addition outlet to the area is this Private Kitchen that I have been told that they started off with small little privite dining and its popularity had grown then they have to operate into a shop. Hence Private Kitchen was the name and now is available in bigger space  with both ground floor and first floor (more for private functions or family gathering).

Private Kitchen (1)

I have travel to Hong Kong a few times and yet find something similar here. Hong Kong food is definately must not miss. Well this new discovery,Private Kitchen is no ordinary shop like those restaurant in shopping mall as they are offering more authentic home cook Hong Kong Cuisine. The man behind the master creation is Chef Lam with experience of more than 20 years on him. Being in Malaysia for less than 18 months, he had creatively come out with many unique dish to impress.

Private Kitchen (2)

A cosy dining area with wooden chairs with many pictures that resemble on Hong Kong that certainly makes you think you are in Hong Kong Restaurant.

Private Kitchen (3)

Private Kitchen (4)

Private Kitchen (5)

Chicken wings are well deep fried to golden brown, crisps on all edges, with mild spicy and salty at the end. A great way to start off our dinner.

Private Kitchen (6)

Follow by this delicious Smoke Duck with Mango. Juicy and chewy slice of smoke duck which is aromatic and blend well with light sour sweet mango, perfect! – recommended

Private Kitchen (7)

I love my meal to start off with soup, and this double boil soup.

Private Kitchen (8)

Is just a great way to make our stomach warm. Boil along with pumpkin, pork and some other ingredient makes the soup sweet enough just as I like or its just me that love soup, any kind of soup is tasty to me. 🙂

Private Kitchen (9)

As we all had the introduction of the meal, then we head to the next meal section which is their set lunch menu that I am totally jealous with most of the office worker working around the area. Set lunch start off with as low as RM 7.90 and below are some of the items can be found.

Hong Kong style steamed chicken in sand ginger powder noodle soup @ RM 9.50

Private Kitchen (11)

Finely chop ginger slices is one of the extra condiments that you must not miss out to pair with the chicken. I finish it and asked for another additional. Not too spicy ginger taste which had tone down and suits many people I think. Well, if you are not a ginger person its worth for you to give it a try.

Private Kitchen (12)

This is no ordinary steam white chicken. Been perfectly marinated and bath with ginger serve along with hot soup noodle is one of the way to satisfy your lunch. Soft tender chicken meat, with slightly fragrant sauce that blends well with the noodle soup. If I drink the sauce it will be too salty as it is not meant to drink that way. I pour the gravy into the soup it made it extra flavorful.

Private Kitchen (10)

noodle in the soup to pair with the chicken

Private Kitchen (13)

Noodles with mince meat & fried egg in tomato soup @ RM 7.50

Private Kitchen (14)

This is no ordinary instant noodle. Well, I often got scolded for ordering instant noodle at restaurant because of the pricing and its easy to cook. Sometimes I just crave for it and cant help it. This here is a must try. It look pretty ordinary or simple yet the hidden ingredient why I love it so much is they cook their own soup base with tomato and pork that makes it sweet enough (something like ‘Loh Shun Tong’) filled with mince meat and a simple sunny side up. Love the soup as its slightly sour tomato base and we just finish it within seconds as the instant noodle cook to springy. – highly recommended

Private Kitchen (16)

If you love to have some pork, then you can opt for this Typhoon shelter noodles with Pork Chop in Chili and Garlic Soup @ RM 15

Private Kitchen (15)

Comes with deep fried pork as the side dish and noodle, perfect for raining weather at this moment.

Private Kitchen (18)

Stir Fried Pork Ribs with Rice @ RM 12.90

Sweet and soup pork ribs might looks ordinary, but this is a well balance taste, mild sweet and more pineapple sour taste as they cook along where you can buy chunks of pinapple. Deep fried pork are in cubes and soft that pairs well with the rice.

Private Kitchen (20)

Fried Rice Portuguese Style with braised pork belly & Seafood @ RM 16 is filled with wok hei and too bad that they don have sambal or chili oil to pair with. If not it would make it more outstanding.

Private Kitchen (21)

Private Kitchen Stir Fried Prime Beef Fillet with Strawberry Pepper Sauce @ RM28

Now lets head to more of its ala-carte menu. Begins with this is pretty unique dish with me, as strawberry is being used to cook along in this dish.Cook till the gravy is well coated onto the beef, tender soft and juicy with mild pepper spicy after taste makes it a great dish for me.

Private Kitchen (22)

Something creamy and palatable then go for this one of my favorite for the night, Deep Fried Pork Ribs with Special Salad Sauce @ RM32. Me and Ken just enjoying this dish by just munching it half a plate with it well coated salad sauce, sweet and slightly creamy that make it appetizing.

Private Kitchen (23)

Creating your taste bud dancing, Stir Fried Squids with vermicelli   in Special Chili Sauce is next to hunt for. YOu have to eat it pretty fast and if not, the vermicelli will soak the soup pretty instantly. Soup taste of it is pretty amazing lime, sour spicy and squid is just fresh, chewy bouncy as I like. RM 28

Private Kitchen (24)

oh oh, this dish is pretty Hong Kong style as Portuguese Style Baked Chicken Chop @ RM 18. Slightly can taste on powdery ginger curry taste which definitely relates back to HOng Kong dish as the chef hvae slightly change the ingredient as he mention the ingredient here is pretty good and the base of it is potato is amazing. -Recommended when you have your rice.

Some of you might find the curry slightly powdery but that is what Hong Kong curry taste like. 😉

Private Kitchen (25)

I know I am being called taufulou, yet this is another amazing by the chef. Crispy fried Tofu with Salt & Pepper @ RM 16

Private Kitchen (26)

The chef have made the toufu so delicately soft that nearly melts on your tongue  with crispy base outside with light after taste of pepper and the bite of it taste as soft as taufufa. Is the chef special mixture to make it outstanding. If you have beer on your side, this would be the best option!

Private Kitchen (27)

another dish that was gone within seconds as the aroma of the spicy garlic trail on our nose that make it so tempting. Private Kitchen Typhoon Shelter Prawns with Chili & Garlic @ seasonal price. Huge succulent prawn being deep fried along with chili and garlic make this dish simple and nice.

Private Kitchen (28)

Any vegetable with pork, I am up for it. Private Kitchen Sautéed Chinese Chives with Dried Shrimp and Shredded Dried Cuttlefish @ RM18 is a well balance vegetable that comes with me, and the best part is the small little salted fish is crispy and the saltiness that bite after it with the vegie and pork.. ooo so hard to resit!

Private Kitchen (29)

End with this healthy herbal jelly. Not many people will like it but its something unique to end off with. I am okay with it and I believe my parents would love it.

I must say, this is one of the most impressive Hong Kong Restaurant that I have come accross and you do not know where to dine, this is one of a highly recommended restaurant in my list for Hong Kong Cuisine.

To most of us, Jaya One is no longer a place which is a stranger to us, which is currently now hosting a lot of restaurant, café’s and Bar in that building itself. If you do not know what to eat or having headache on variety, take a stroll around the area that you can find variety of food range available.

One of the latest editions into the family is The Bee which just started their operation about 3 weeks and the crowds already start to love this place.

[close down on Jan 2014]

Bee

Most of us do watch F.R.I.E.N.D.S as they usually hang out in a café, but what I feel The Bee has is that similar kind of concept which is a perfect place gathering place for friends and colleague.

Bee (2)

I love their interior that really portray classic style café that I have went when I was at Melbourne, build up with red brick design and coffee counter with cake display fridge and a mini menu of food to choose from.

Bee (3)

A mini bar table type area with wifi and plug available for your online convenience.

Bee (4)

One thing that I love about their concept is that this cake display fridge is that they are going to feature most of our local bakers to sell in this fridge as part to promote local baker talent.

Bee (5)

They have not really launch the place yet and this is their only temporary menu.

Bee (6)

With currently limited choices to choose from but will be more starting from June.

Bee (7)

‘Dukkah Prawn Salad’ RM16

If you love salad for lunch or dinner, then I would say you will surely fall in love with their salad range. Fresh salad that dress with their very own, homemade salad dressing, top with fresh grilled prawns is something I enjoy.

Bee (8)

If you want more healthy or diet meal, then ‘Roasted Pumpkin Couscous Salad’ would be the preffered choice also caught my attention more, RM18 comes with fresh softly baked pumpkin with their own seasoning to enhance the flavor up and sprinkle with the white crumbs(which I forgot the word), and I just can finish this alone. –Recommended~

Bee (9)

One of their in house specialties ‘The Bee Burger’

Bee (13)

With their very own handmade beef patties which is certainly well mince, grill till its soft and juicy then baked with a layer melted cheese on top of it and its nice! – Recommended~

Bee (10)

‘Huevos Rancheros’ wrap with egg, bacon, melted cheeze, sauces, then perfectly toast till the skin is crispy and solid yet not burn with bacon is very aromatic, and so far it is the best I had. – Recommended~

Bee (11)

‘Ebi Fry Burger’ is something unique that I came across.

Bee (12)

Deep fried Ebi which the prawn is solid and fried perfectly add in with their own salad dressing to make it juicy, worth a try.

Bee (16)

‘Chicken Avocado Burger’ with chicken grilled to perfection coated with cheeze.

Opening Promo – ALL burger and drink for RM15 (which is certainly a great bargain)

Bee (14)

‘Deep Fried Ebi’ is something have not include in the current menu that would be added in their new menu very soon. The unique is the sauce that by dipping in it, our tongue get to taste sour yet sweet and spicy and its good till we dip it the whole sauce dry.

Bee (17)

‘Churros’ is something that I tried at Victoria market and not many people enjoy this desert which is very new in Malaysia, as I love to have mine, cripy on the outer layer and very soft in the middle then sprinkle with with cinnamon sugar is good~

I love this place and certainly, to all those who love burgers, go after their burger range which I felt very delectable as the catch is they have hired one of a very famous young lady chef from Australia to prepare the café’s menu and train their chef, thanks for hosting us that night.

A few days ago, we went back again to Hai Thian restaurant in Equine Park for a feast again. It was one of the post that I had forgotten to blog about it, that I manage to find back the pictures and now it is a combine post of both event the first one was after Chinese New Year we came here for lou sang and second time was few days ago to celebrate Kebbie’s Birthday. This is regard as one of a recommended restaurant by my colleague. One of the reason I did not blog about it as I do not have the receipt, therefore the name in here is base on my own estimation.During my first trip to this restaurant, I find it very far from my office as it is deep inside Serdang, but when I reach the restaurant I was shock! to see the restaurant occupied half of the stretch of the shop lot, might taken up around 5-7 shop lot to convert it. With the effort, I have rated it as dont play play restarant as it must be a standard to be able to conqueer such a big place. As some information from my colleague as this restaurant is very famous and they had just move to this new premises, as during on the old location, it is always pack!

Hai Tian (2)

A modern interior with some Chinese calligraphy printing on the pillar, with high ceiling and a stage, occasionally a lot weddings are held in this restaurant, based on our estimation, it is able to cater up to 80 tables.

Hai Tian (3)

The menu is heavy and the pricing in here are very reasonable.

Hai Tian (4)

Hai Tian (5)

For the first round when I was here, we had ‘Salmon Lou Sang’.

Hai Tian (6)

‘Chicken Fried with dry Chili’, the taste is absolutely fantastic, fried evenly that the chicken is soft and tender yet the sauce that fried along in it makes the aroma stick on the chicken that the gravy is sticky.

Hai Tian (7)

I have eaten a lot of salted egg crab, pork, chicken and others but I have not tried before ‘Salted Egg Pumpkin’ as it turns out to be very good. The salted egg had been finely chopped till its like sand and pumpkin to fried along with it, is just as good as it is.

Hai Tian (8)

‘Chinese Herbal with Prawns and Vermicelli (tang hoon)’ when this pot came over, it was finish within seconds and not enough that we order another pot of it. The soup is very aromatic with chinese wine that did not overpower the herbs taste, just the right amount and taste is very inviting.

Hai Tian (9)

‘Fried Lotus Root, Chinese Pea with Macadamia Nuts’. Fried with wok hei that maitain the freshness of the vegetable and the ingredient of Macadamia nut add the extra umph in it.
