Plan B had received a huge buzz over blogging for quite some time when they first started, cuz of their unique concept that they have. Modern New York chic concept that had gain many diners heart that is cosy, nice interior that made them stood out from many of other cafe outlet. Then I try out another of their concept or I would call a slight changes of their concept from Plan B which is Journal by Plan B at Publika. Many people say good things about this outlet on their food. I try out their brunch turns out to be good too.

plan b (1)

plan b (11)

Soft Shell Crab Spaghetti Carbonara @ one of the more oustanding dishes compare to the rest we have although its near tasteless, with soft shell crab quite oily. .

plan b (12)

This soup is very normal, nothing special as it taste like alot MSG in there and its very salty . . .

plan b (13)

Cheese Burger

plan b (14)

It had won our heart when we first saw the presentation with melted cheese on top of the patty. Nothing special, yet sligltly salty . .

plan b (15)

Signature of the night which is Lamb Pie, over baked that the crust is hard as the colour itself already mention it, lamb in it is overcook and the best of all, its way too salty.

This is the first time we never finish our food yet Marcus was way too hungry, he tried to finish it just left a few bites and gave up. We ended went down to the lower ground to hunt for snacks. 😀

One thing I understand which is different mall have different market as this outlet we think that its a let down or the crowd for Plan B just love salty flavour or it was the chef that had overdoze it. Anyway, with the price that we are paying, we can try other food. 🙂

Hopefully they improve on that.

Some of us would have dinner outside almost everyday. Sometimes, we are just lost in hunting for what to eat on next meal. There is one outlet that newly operated in Sunway Pyramid new wing that sit directly across Starbucks is this famous restaurant chain from Singapore, Paradise Inn. Yes correct! I think you have the same thought as me when I was like huh? A restaurant not a hotel? Well, the word Inn definitely mislead many of us yet it is confirm that its not a hotel and it is actually a restaurant.

Paradise Inn (1)

The restaurant is decorated back into the olden days with contemporary look as you can see at the main entrance is like back to the 70’s style design high class restaurant at that time.

Paradise Inn (2)

Paradise Inn is one of a well know restaurant chain in Singapore that they provide good home cook style food at a very reasonable price.

Paradise Inn (3)

The food in the menu looks very tempting, everything in it looks good~

Paradise Inn (4)

One of their signature is their double boil soup that I can see nearly all tables have this classic pot sitting at their table.

Paradise Inn (5)_resize

I love the drinks that they are offering with a very light hint combination of the flavours and my fav is the one in the middle, which is one of the best seller (I suddenly forgot the name) then follow by Lavender Tea filled with some natural herbs and flowers like chrysanthemum too.

Paradise Inn (8)

Traditional double boil soup – Clam with pork ribsRM39.90/pot

Paradise Inn (9)

since every one order this, we were serve along to try it out along. This pot is enough to feed for 2-4 pax.

Paradise Inn (10)

Very clear in taste yet boil till the soup is aromatic, something that I have miss for quite some time and now I know where to hunt for nice double boil soup that is added into my list.

Paradise Inn (12)

Crisp-fried Crystal Prawns with Salted Egg Yolk one of the must order item. A prawn that had peel all the skins out and cook along that the whole prawn meat chew in your mouth blends with aromatic fried salted egg along just burst in flavour in your mouth. I always prefer to have prawns that already peel off its shell so can get the full taste of it. @ RM 29.90

Paradise Inn (13)

Crispy fried Fish With Preserved Bean Paste (Nam Yue) – Dory Fish fillet battered with preserved bean paste that fried till crisp on all side.

Paradise Inn (14)

Sliced Tea Smoke Duck is something for you to go for a start and chew, well marinated and finely cut slice is just enough to keep you going. @ RM 12.90

Paradise Inn (15)

Another one of my favourite which is Crisp-fried Crystal Prawns in Wasabi Mayo Sauce. Sauce is not too watery that is just at the right texture to coat along with the prawns and at the end of the taste a hint of spiciness that just burns your nose a bit.  @ RM 29.90

Paradise Inn (16)

Seafood Supreme Fried Rice is cook with ‘wok hei’ till its a bit dry and best part is you wont see a fried rice that cook along with Ebiko. Its unique. @ RM19.90

Paradise Inn (17)

This is one of my all time favourite, that I had this so often when I was in Melbourne and came back not many people can cook this well. Certainly Poached Chinese Spinach with Egg Trio and Minced Pork in Superior Stock is one of the recommended dish also that cook along with 3 types of eggs (Century egg, salted egg and normal egg) and mince meat. @ RM16

Paradise Inn (18)

The melt-in-your-mouth meat dishes, the Stewed Pork Belly Served with Lotus Bun

Paradise Inn (19)

It would be best to order along this Fluffy lotus bun as it is made fresh upon order.

Paradise Inn (20)

This is how you eat the stew pork with the bun, its one of the way and if you prefer to eat it without the bun also would be a perfect pair with your rice, because of its great sauce.

Paradise Inn (21)

I never like eggplant before because of its soft moist texture and after I have try good food when I was in Hong Kong i fall in love with this dish. Stewed Eggplant with Minced Pork and Salted Fish in Claypot that will pair along very well with your rice as the taste of it just absorbs. @ RM16

Paradise Inn (22)

One of a unique dish for the day is Coffee Pork Ribs, its a bit bitter at the end taste as that’s the result of coffee flavor. Very well prepared as the coffee taste do not over power their sauce that cook along. @ RM 19.90

Paradise Inn (23)

Crisp-fried Shrimp Paste Chicken crisp from inside out. @ RM18

Paradise Inn (24)

Braised Vermicelli with Pork Trotters is something that I used cook often when I am at oversea and now they have it here too. Its not too salty as it looks and the taste of pork trotters is in it without the vermicelli fried too dry. @ RM19.90

Paradise Inn (25)

Braised Tofu with Crystal Prawns @ RM25

Paradise Inn (26)_resize

At the end of the dinner, how can we not have desert when I scroll thru their desert page I am tempted to order all to try. So I guess my wish was granted and we have all it here. Corn and Barley, Mango Desert and Chilled Lemongrass Jelly with Lemonade

Paradise Inn (27)_resize

Mango Pudding, Black Sesame Paste and Almond

Paradise Inn (33)_resize

Double-boiled Hasma with Red Dates and Longan and Black Glutinous with tong yuen.

At the end of the meal, I was so full and satisfied, as rarely a Chinese restaurant that would serve quite a good range of food and taste is control best of all the price is very reasonable.. Definately I am looking foward to come back and dine here.

One of a recommended Restaurant!~

Nadese (1)

My friend told me that they previously started off with a shoplot then they gain their popularity very fast with its first of its kind to offer multi layer thin cakes in chill that had attracted alot local and inter states crowd, then they have took over another outlet that now people can dine in too.

Nadese (2)

People only come here for their cakes, which is in the version of millie crepes which made bythe owner which is from Japan if I am not mistaken. Crepes means a very thin pancake that made from flour top with many layers ontop which is origins from French. Since then, the crepes had evolve to suits local taste of each countries with the chef creativity.

Nadese (3)

The cafe is always jam pack with people from most of their operating hours. . .

Nadese (4)

Ps: it really depends on individual taste some find it milky and some find it nice.. for me I find it a bit milky but still nice. Also note on their service as it might be slow ..

If you are looking for a kopitiam with standard nice food to eat, I would say Kedai Makanan O & S would be one of the best neigbourhood kopitiam that served alot of nice hawker food. I have been here many times with my collegue which they rate one of their favourite kopitiam and always have to reach here before the super peak lunch time 1pm which will flock by most people that work around the area. I have nearly tried the food range at this coffee shop and I only took picture once just to share on that it . .

You have to stare at the person that sitting at the table to ask them eat faster, its my turn to sit and eat those kind of atmosphere. If you want to get a place easily in this coffee shop, just come after 1.45pm where most of the office people have to go back to work.

ons (1)

ons (2)

Beef Ball Noodle apparently turns out not bad, that clear in soup base and I love mine to have a mixture of all parts in my bowl. The soup is a bit sweet with reddish taste which can be told that had been boil for quite some time. The beef meat is soft and love mine to dip with their own homemade chili sauce. Not bad for a quality like that, can give it a try .. RM 6

ons (3)

A few times I walked pass this Char Koey Teow stall that fried till very aromatic and smells so good, then decided to order, it smells nice, not in taste as its  a bit blend and texture is a bit moist which I prefer it to be a bit more dry.

ons (4)

If you are craving for Penang Laksa, this would be one of the recommended place to stop your crave from Penang. Fish meat chucks with strong blend of fish meat in the soup base is soury, and a bit spicy , add on with the ‘har kou’ would be just nice. One of my collegue favourite.

ons (5)

Next is this Chee Cheong Fun stall which have a bit similar taste of my Penang favourite style with thick shrimp paste style add on with sesame and fried onions . . Taste very nice at first, but till the end I find it a bit salty, well, my colleague they all love it . .

ons (6)

Another dish to recommend is this Yeong Tau Fu Stall that you can see many tables or at least 8/10 tables will order this. Sweet in soup base and the fried ‘sui kau’ is a must order that crispy edge and stuff with mince meat is good!

One of the crowds favourite which I did not take picture is Penang Prawn Mee or Har Mee which is one of the best that I have eaten so far in PJ or KL, with the soup is sweet with prawn shell and pai kuat taste, that you can add on extra ingredient like Penang style. starts from RM4 which is highly recommended~

If you are craving for some Penang food or hawker food, then o n s kopitiam would be one of the Kopitiam I would recommend to stop on your crave.. .  Do look out for their Penang Prawn Mee and Laksa. .

Last weekend, I had a very short trip back to Penang to help my friend photo shoot on his new range of food that going to promote for the next 6 months which I have previously blog about it (click here to view) and while I was there, I manage to think back to find a place that it had been long time have never dine there. Kedai Kopi Chip Heng

When I was a kid, my dad used to bring me here, that I used to bugged him on weekends, as it was quite a distance from Penang to mainland to hunt for this meal and at that time I was addicted to their soup taste, sour veggie.

Yam Rice

When I reach there, I remember one of the shop used to be my favourite but I could not remember which is the one as there are 2 shops side by side selling the same thing but different taste, as I lost my memory, I just chin chai entered one of the shop which turns to be Kedai Kopi Chip Heng.

Yam Rice (2)

What they sell is called, Yam Rice (one of their main selling item) to go along with soup that filled with mixture of pig’s spare part.

Yam Rice (4)

You can choose the parts that want to be added in into your bowl or mix everything ( I love it to be mix of everything) in the small bowl boil it for a while till its cook, then they will add the soup after that.

Yam Rice (3)

Yam Rice (5)

This is ‘Salted Vegetable Soup with Pork Innards’ with one of their special taste was the soup base, which is created much from salted veggie (Kiam Chai – in hokkien) and it had been quite some time since I last taste it and find it another feel like sour plum which happens to be quite strong which me and my friend find it quite weird but as I remember the when I was a kid it doesn’t taste like that (more on sour veggie).

Yam Rice (6)

Then the auntie introduce us their ‘Tau Yew Bak’ that had been stew for quite some time till the pork intestine its very soft and a bit chewy and if the meat would have been softer a bit it would have been perfect. I just love the taste of the Tau Yew as it similar to my grandma’s cooking that I had long missed. We just finish this bowl within seconds.

Yam Rice (7)

If you are in this coffee shop and ordered white rice it would be just very weird (would be more like ordering Wan Tan Mee without Wantan) as they are famous for their ‘Yam Rice’.

Love the Yam Rice that have diced yam cubes are deep – fried to a crisp, add in sauteed dried shrimps to cook with the rice till its not too dry is just delicious to go along with the soup.

Yam Rice (8)

The best part is all the pig spare part must dip with their special ‘In house Chili’ to add in the kick of it.

After finishing the meal, I am still not satisfied that it doesn’t give me the umph of it then went to the next stall to tap au back their taste and while I was at home after reheat it again, I just found out that that’s the shop I wanted to go with its strong taste of sour veggie. Both shop also had their own customer with different taste wise, hence for me, I love the one next to this shop and as I remember, my cousin loves this shop compare to the one I like. (depends on your taste bud)

Total damage for 2 pax is RM15 including drinks which we find it very cheap.

Last week, my colleague introduces me to this place where they often have their lunch around this area. They visited this place Yang Kee Beef Noodle quite often and the price charge is quite reasonable. One of their famous signature dish is the Beef Noodle and upon that, what I read from a few bloggers that, ‘Yong Tau Fu’ is also one of their specialties that sell very fast.

I was there during lunch time and expected to wait a while as the crowd starts to pour in, then when comes to ordering, I would always prefer beef noodle in soup version as that’s the best way to test on it with strong sweet aromatic soup base is the best, then my colleague help me to order and recommended to go for their egg noodle as its freshly made.

yang kee (2)

‘Mixed Soup Beef Noodle’ @ RM4.30 for small and RM4.80 for large

My bowl of mixed soup beef egg noodle, that tastes quite different from Penang’s taste, as the egg noodle is definitely a great recommendation, that it is fine and quite springy while eating it, soup base is a bit thick that serve along with beef ball, beef slices and some of other beef spare parts. Its not bad, but I still prefer Penang’s version.

yang kee (3)

‘Stewed Beef Brisket with Radish’ had been stewed for quite some time, but I prefer the meat to be softer a bit as if when add into mouth will melt into slices. RM 4.50

yang kee (4)

‘Dry Beef Noodle’ @ RM 4.50

yang kee

One that catches my attention is that, this is the first time I come across that beef noodle in dry version with minced meat add on. The gravy that added on is a bit spicy, salty but when mixed with it, the taste is quite alright.

yang kee (5)

According to my friend, they said the beef ball here is hand beaten by the chef that is why the beef ball is so springy like what we always see in TVD drama series or in TV.

Overall, three of us did have a nice lunch while chatting all the way. Worth a try if you are around the area, around the area there are not much parking space and just wish for your luck on that day.
