In Changkat Bukit Bintang surely is a well known street to many of you. Street party, Bar HOpping & good food is where all those headline would fall into this one street. By strolling up and down this street you will find yourself being harrest by all these aggressive bar people to get you into their outlet. Of course there are some other outlets that approach you in a more friendly polite manner. IT really depends.

The Steakhouse (1)

One of the most recent visit is The Steakhouse by Werner Kuhn’s establishment and I am sure many of you have heard this well known pork place in the area – El Cerdo. Its the same owner as you just need to walk across the street. This place would be my second visit and make no surprise to me that on weekdays the restaurant is on 80% capacity also known as one of the best place to hunt for steak in Changkat Bukit Bintang.

The Steakhouse (2)

The Steakhouse (3)

If you are looking for a place with 1 stone kill 2 bird then The Steakhouse is one of the restaurant to consider as it is also part of The Whiskey Bar that seriously offer lots of whiskey that my jaw would drop off. If you look/ read thru their list you will be amazed on what kind range they are providing.

The Steakhouse (4)

Its a connected place whereby one outlet offer classy bar seating area and next door is more for dining.

The Steakhouse (5)

This is what I mean that they have a few cabinate that display most of their available Whisky and they have a lot of classic and 25 years old or even more than that available in here.

The Steakhouse (6)

AT their bar counter, there are mountains of opened whisky that you can order by shots.

The Steakhouse (7)

Not only that, if you love cigars then they do have it here and you will enjoy it by sipping on your whisky.

The Steakhouse (9)

Heading back to The Steakhouse as the menu is pretty straight forward. As what You see now is the only menu that they are offering. 3 pages as the last page is desserts.

The Steakhouse (10)

Being at such a bar before heading to Whisky, I started off with Cocktail ..

1) Margarita @ RM28 pretty decent as I find that the alcohol is very much strong and hint of lime is slightly visible.

2) Whisky Sour is one of my favorite drink. Easy to drink and lemon skin slices being added in to enhance on the taste. It pairs well with most of my starters. I had 3 glass. 😀 @ RM28

3) Classic Mojito @ RM28 is a well balance alcohol with mint leaves is sufficient enough to pull up the taste of it. .

The Steakhouse (11)

Next I ask the floor manager what is good to have next then he introduce drinks from Spain.

1) Rose Raspberry Sangria @ RM28

2) White Wine Pear Sangria @ RM28

Both are equally good and consider one of the best I have tried so far or maybe it suits my taste bud. A well balance of alcohol with fruits and among that 2 I prefer the White wine Pear Sangria more as its a bit alcoholic yet I can still taste the sweetness of the fruits being added in. Not only that, its chill enough and pretty refreshing. It goes well with my salad, Oyster and very very well with my escargot.

The Steakhouse (12)

Upon ordering our starters, we do not know what to get and the manager highly recommend us to get their Oyster as its fresh and flown in a day ago. We order without any hesitation and no regret after all. I am not a big fan of oyster but I ended up having 5 pieces myself. ITs so sweet and tasty just with squeezing a bit of lemon and 2 drops of tosbasco.  1 Fresh Live Oyster on ice with Shallot-Wine Vinaigrette RM9/piece. If you pair this with the right choice of white wine, it will be a bomb!

The Steakhouse (13)

Came next is Portobello mushroom with spinach & seafood @ RM26 per piece which I find it reasonable as coated with aromatic baked cheese serve along with big size mushroom and prawns.

The Steakhouse (14)

Something tone down abit your taste bud would be Caesar salad as they served their version here slightly different. Instead of using bacon, they are using smoked duck to enhance the taste of it also its slight chewy. One of the reason they using this also wanted to hold onto their Pork FREE status.. RM26

The Steakhouse (15)

Wow wow.. Looking at this picture makes me droll again as this is one of the places that serve really good escargots. It was baked perfectly with garlic herb butter and cheese. It was so aromatic upon it was serve and its perfect in taste as it smells that the snail is a bit chewy and did not over cook it and we drink the whole thing especially on the garlic herbs sauce that left behind. A MUST ORDER! RM 12 per peice

The Steakhouse (16)

Before we head into our red med, Duck Foie Gras is the last to serve. Nicely done = and the foie gras are still moist paired in chef’s special sauce. RM42

The Steakhouse (17)

The soup are prepared ahead and then baked in oven with melted cheese on top of the croutons.  RM22

The Steakhouse (18)

Mushroom soup with olive oil @ RM 20

The Steakhouse (21)

Beef Stroganoff @ RM48

This is one of the dish would falls into my very highly RECOMMENDED dish. I love this dish as I have tried a very good one over sea and locally its still hard for me to find one and I must say, finally I have found something that I like. YOu must not miss this dish when you are here as the potato rosti being pan fried till crips on both side and soft in the inside also as the side serve with beef stripes are tender and. Mushroom sauce taste pretty good too.

The Steakhouse (19)

BBQ Short Ribs @ RM78

The Steakhouse (20)

On my last visit, I did order this and this round order this again as I find it very good. Season well, then went into grill till the outer layer end up with grill mark yet inside is cook just nice. The meat is so soft that just by using fork, it easily tear off.

a

The Steakhouse (22)

Grilled Black Cod Fish @ RM58

Thick black cod fish fillet served with parsley, potato, mushroom and creamy wasabi pesto sauce

The Steakhouse (23)

First read to appear is Charcoal Grilled Australian Grain Fed Beef Medallion @ RM88

A medallion shaped cut beef and then charcoal grilled then place on hot plates upon serving to the customer

The Steakhouse (24)

Black Angus Tenderloin @ RM98

The Steakhouse (25)

Cook to the condition as I like medium rare and the steak is still juicy with the mark left behind too as the hot plate is still grilling on the beef while you are eating. Juicy and tender.

The Steakhouse (26)

I am very full till now then flipping thru what whisky set I should try, Full Japanese series or full 18 years old series. Ended up trying both.

The Steakhouse (34)

Serving the whisky takes a bit long as you all might know that its just pouring on a shot or 2. Well, one of the reason as they have this very unique kinetic mechine help to shape ice, just by putting a square cube of blog ice in the middle then let the top cover do its magic.

The Steakhouse (36)

Tadaa… after about 3 minutes it had been shape up like that to be added into the glass and serve with the set.

The Steakhouse (27)

Japanese Tasting Set which consist 4 different years whiskey on your tasting tray. Each were explained on its characteristic and tasting method. Please do not spoil this great whisky with coke as many of you do. ITs either on neat or mix with water. On this tasting series is the Japanese Suntory distillery’s famous Yamazaki, Hibiki and Hakushu ranging from 12 to 22 years. In here still Yamazaki is the winner for me.

The Steakhouse (29)

Next tray is Perfect 18 means 5 taster of 18 years old whisky from 5 different whisky disstealeries

The Steakhouse (32)

The Steakhouse (37)

Last but not least, when you are full till like a fat pig could not walk, who say you cant eat anymore! There is always room for dessert no matter how your full condition is. Love the Mango taste and the original is not bad too.

The Steakhouse (38)

Tiramisu @ RM22.50

The Steakhouse (39)

Baked Cheese Cake is pretty decent as its soft that can still taste on the cheese not too thick either. @ RM22.50

The Steakhouse (40)

Looking at their own dessert signature series, Andreas Special on the left come with difference ice cream! It come with white chocolate ice cream, milky chocolate mousse, chocolate crumble, banana in passion fruit and pear in red wine. If you are slightly adventurous and would want a slightly well balance taste then don miss this. AS Andres special (left) have a quite well balance taste with sour, sweet, and slightly bitter end then you must hunt this down!

The Steakhouse (41)

Werner and Andreas Special @  RM22.50 each

As the dining came to an end I discover that their most expensive beef is not the best I have had and I find that The Steakhouse have its advantage as the one slightly cheaper taste better for me. Moist, juicy and just right! Since everything is juicy, our receipt also very juicy.

Sometimes, drinking needs to come with an option. Not always I drink the same brand and of course depends whom I party with. One of the brand that some of my girlfriends love is Belvedere. Once they have tried out this brand, whenever they feel like drinking Vodka, this is the one that they always ended up with.

belvedere (1)

Recently I get to go one of the latest event from Belevedere. Belvedere, the world’s first luxury vodka, is authentic and natural, handcrafted the way Polish vodka has been made for over 600 years. We use Dankowskie Gold Rye along with pure artesian water from our own wells, distilling four times for a perfect balance of purity and character. The unique result is unadulterated. We think you’ll love it but we know you have to try it to believe it.

belvedere (2)

The event took place at Butter Factory.

belvedere (3)

belvedere (4)

It was another great event that have great line up with DJ’s and those who came was able to get special promotion for this brand.

belvedere (6)

Some of the people that order in pairs came with little fireworks to showcase the exclusivity for you.

belvedere (5)

One of the best reason why my friends are into it because they have exciting range of fresh fruit-flavored vodka use only real fruit and a proprietary process of maceration to create amazing, natural flavors. Black Raspberry, Pink Grapefruit, Citrus and Orange — no other flavored vodka tastes like this.

belvedere (9)

Drinking will always be best when I have my friends of course those people that I must have around is Marilyn & Samuel

belvedere (13)

Guesss whom I saw at this event is my friend whom I get to perform at my NYE party last year. They did a good job and now he have a whole new band to play with him and of course Kelly is also often one of their lead singer.

belvedere (14)

How not to miss my cool friend Yukiko. She is just awesome and those of you thinking of hitting on her, we can save our time now as she is getting married soon. kekeke

Another great night with the rest of the people and of course one of my favourite Vodka for the night, that easy to go along with many mixture, taste awesome and smooth. Of course can drink this neat.

Ahhhh, finally a place whereby I can truely enjoy my dessert with quite a good selection, quality and reasonable price. I have always like cakes and even did consider myself taking up patisserie course to satisfy my cravings at random times. Nosh is the place certainly would be one of the place that I will be back hunting whenever I am craving for dessert.

nosh (1)

Nosh is one of the shop that had been just establish for the past 6 months and already well known to its neighborhood in Bangsar. The person behind this whole establishment is a person who have passion and love towards dessert. What can we expect is as below.

nosh (3)

A shop which is not really big but certainly a comfort place for dining with friends and family. To show you their passion on dessert, they have build a separate counter just to prepare all their dessert to ensure quality and freshness of their product. Not only that, of course other food are also available.

nosh (4)

Some cakes available for you to choose from ..

nosh (5)

For some food, we started off with Smoked Salmon Salad @ RM29. Filled with Crisp greens tossed with tangy vinaigrette and slices of smoked salmon. Its something simple and light to start off with, little sour end of the dressing and the potato is well boiled till its soft. I enjoy every bite of it. Salmon is fresh.

nosh (6)

Next dish is Pumpkin & Smoked Chicken Risotto @ RM38 had turn it into our favourite. Cleverly play with ingredient with healthy option, this risotto, delicately sweetened by the pumpkin and the smoked chicken pieces  pairs perfectly well that are thin slice yet very aromatic, with little cheeze slices on it. It wont be too cheezy at the end and I can actually finish this whole plate by myself.

nosh (7)

Lamb Gnocchi @ RM38  is something that soft and filled your stomach instantly. Sweet potato gnocchi in a lamb ragout cooked with red wine is very flavourful and the lamb cook till soft and filled with flavor

nosh (8)

Before our dessert menu start, I was introduce by Ann to try out their chocolate signature drink, Trinity Chocolate. Chocolate lovers would not want to miss this as there are 3 special ingredient to add up this flavorful chocolate drink. I must say one of the near perfect chocolate drink I have come across, slightly thick yet very smooth. Highly Recommended!

nosh (9)

Chocolat Orange (comprise with alcohol)

Chocolate lovers will fall in love with this as its rich in chocolate filled with Grand Marnier-flavoured chocolate mousse, glazed with dark chocolate and with little line of citrusy orange. Slightly in bitter end and surely will goes well with a cup of coffee.

nosh (10)

Earl Grey Creme Brulee is one of the dessert that you must  not miss if you are a tea lover. Aromatic earl grey flavour yet did not overpower the rest of it and just delectable. – Recommended

nosh (11)

Creme Au Chocolate

Baked chocolate cream paired with a tangy fruit of the forest mousse and served with a delicate crunchy nutty tuile.

nosh (12)

Coconut Panna Cotta

Something to chill on your mouth with local tropical twist? Panna Cotta – with addition of coconut cream, served with pandan-infused palm sugar and topped with a crunchy tuile.

nosh (15)

Strawberry Cheesecake

One of Nosh’s signatures is a pretty dessert,  topped with fresh strawberries and pistachios follow with French cream cheese, this  cheesecake is nice.

nosh (13)

Sweet Potato Azuki Gateaux

I find this dessert look weird at first glance then only further understand that its actually a deconstruct dessert that they have come out with their creativity. Green tea sponge chiffon sponge cake generously filled with twirls of sweet potato mousse and topped with rich azuki red beans.  Good for some one who prefer less sweet.

nosh (16)

Lemon Peach Tart

Another deconstructed dessert is buttery crumble with cubes of peaches, tangy lemon curd and topped with crunchy swirls of ginger filo pastry with a light dusting of ground cinnamon.  I love this too as its something unique that I have come across and filled with sweet sour taste.

nosh (14)

Walnut Tiramisu with alcohol

Another deconstructed version: rich chocolate sponge soaked in espresso and fine port wine, complemented by luscious creamy mascarpone, caramelized walnuts and generous dusting of dark cocoa powder.

nosh (19)

Apple Cinnamon Cake

Something warm and cold then Apple butter cake, filled with light cinnamon, is served with Nosh’s own gourmet vanilla bean ice-cream topped with crunchy sliced almonds on a bed of warm creme anglaise and for added flavours, a drizzle of butterscotch sauce.

This would be like a limited edition cake that is only available from May till June… just perfect for your Mother’s Day and Father’s Day celebrations!

nosh (17)

Black Forest Pavlova with contains alcohol

Among so many dessert, I love this the most which is also the well presented desserts in Nosh. The chocolate meringue lusciously topped with a rich indulgent chocolate mousse, decorate with dark cherriesand fresh strawberries.  Drops of zingy raspberry coulis dots the design on the plate for a gorgeous presentation. Love the chocolate flavour with crips on the body and the fruits on top pairs perfectly well. Not too sweet and perfect to my likings. Highly recommended!

nosh (20)

End with a glass of Latte and Trinity Chocolate is the clear winner in their warm drinks.

nosh (21)

If you love ice cream, its actually made fresh by them and no doubt that all of flavors are good and sorbet its a must not miss.

nosh (22)

Hahaha, its pretty true though if you have not dined well. Feed well on yourself.:D

No doubt that I would highly recommend this place for cake lovers with their huge selection of cakes that made fresh and price is absolutely cheap with their quality that they have.

A place that I have heard numerous good feedback is El Cerdo and always wanted to dine here if I have the opportunity, as always do not have a strong reason to come here. A place that is famous for plate breaking that will shoo your badluck away is one of their signature ceremony and when you dine here, often you will hear glass breaking sound.

El Cerdo (1)

Well, El Cerdo is definitely a place to die for if you are a pork lover with its little quote ‘nose to tail eating’ which every part of pig can be eaten. A place that specialize in pork that is not stranger than El Cerdo also means ‘The Pig’ in Spannish and here you go by learning a new word. This restaurant serve Cochinillo Spanish cuisine that smack right in the heart of busy night spot at Changkat Bukit Bintang. One of the reason that this restaurant is quite famous because  they have a Award-Winning Master chef that specializes in home-cooked pork flavours from all over the world like Europe, the Caribbean and Mexico.

El Cerdo (2)

Upon entering the restaurant, you will be greeted by a pig statue on the floor besides the friendly waiter that greet and ushering us to our table.

El Cerdo (3)

El Cerdo (4)

In the restaurant, you can find many cute piggy icons, pictures, statues around it and this piggy means HUat arrrhhh~

El Cerdo (5)

El Cerdo (6)

El Cerdo (7)

One of the reason they have so constant repeat customer is their quality and service also, that also won them a few awards. Now you know why~

El Cerdo (8)

Even the menu also have a cute pig chef picture that ready to blast you with its food range.

El Cerdo (9)

In the menu is pretty simple and straight forward with all the porky range that they have and everything looks tempting.

El Cerdo (10)

El Cerdo (11)

Later we were served with a few Werner’s Special, as we leave our fate to the waiter to recommend us what drink is nice.

El Cerdo (12)

El Cerdo (13)

El Cerdo (14)

A place that would be perfect for any special celebration as on that night itself, which is on weekdays already have a few birthday celebration in da restaurant and its quite pack too for a normal weekday business.

El Cerdo (15)

We were then seated in a private room for 4 of us. 😀

Jamon Serrano – Assortment of Jamon Serrano and Jamon Iberico with a Variety of Chorizo Sausages and Condiments @ RM 48

Serve with Imported High Quality Spanish Cured @ Air Dried Ham serve with Rock Melon and Salad

El Cerdo (17)

This would be my first time dining a full range of ham, and never had I seen so much ham in one meal. This is one of their signature that feature many types of ham that being serve fresh, air tight bag and flown all the way from a few countries.

El Cerdo (18)

To eat it, I always try a combo that one of a restaurant manager that taught me before is pair everything up on the plate that you can find as it is always a ingredient that they would go along and for me this round, I am taking a slice of ham, a vegetable and one rock melon, slide it into my mouth and it taste awesome.! Sweet yet refreshing and slight salty from the ham just pair the taste very well.

El Cerdo (19)

Oven Roasted Iberico Spare Ribs

Serve with Pineapple Salsa

El Cerdo (20)

When this was serve, Jason and Me Was like woahh!! and when it had landed on the table we cant stop drooling as the smell of the fresh roasted pork ribs trail on the air. Quickly we took the pictures and rape this ribs after that.

El Cerdo (21)

Indeed, was well marinated along with perfect roast of temperature that make all the side crispy and every bite filled with crack sound. The meat is just so tender and we have to pull out the meat with our teeth, by enjoying every bite of it.

El Cerdo (29)

We had not enough and we order another portion for big meat eater like us.

El Cerdo (22)

Cochinillo Alestili Segoviano

Roasted Suckling Pig (Oink Oink)

HALF PIGLET   @ RM188

WHOLE PIHLET   @ RM358

El Cerdo (23)

This is one of the signature that all of you must not miss, the suckling pig.

El Cerdo (24)

When the manager came over with the plate and told me that he can cut the suckling pig with the plate and I am so suprise till I ask him ‘ARe you SErious?’ he answered yes. One of the reason that it had been so easy that the pig had been marinated for a few hours before it was put to roast and that is how it ended up so crips and fresh.

Besides that, there is this Spanish tradition before you eat on this suckling pig which is like a little ceremonial to chop. 😀

You have to knock hard on the wooden board for 3 times before cutting it with the plate. Follow by cutting its head, body and tail as it means after chopping 3 times, it will transfer bad luck into the plate then you have to break the plate in the prepared wooden pail to cast away the bad luck and welcome Good Luck. Huat AHH!!!!

Hmm, didnt know that to eat a pig have this cute little ceremony to chase away bad luck. Its fun and you have to really try it yourself. One of the signature thing that many couples and friends do in this restaurant.

El Cerdo (26)

Serve along with special gravy.

El Cerdo (27)

And here you go, the well perfect cut of the roast skin, meat and everything. Smells just so good. One of the set back is, it has a bit pig smell that some of you might not like it. To us we find it good!

El Cerdo (28)

The skin is super crispy, aromatic that makes me keep eating and eating, definitely it had different taste compare to our Chinese traditional suckling pig. Its different league I would say. Meat is soft and juicy and I prefer to eat it like this than along with the gravy. Its just perfect portion for 3 huge guys like us!

El Cerdo (30)

Mountain Paella

Paelle Style Rice with Pork Bacon, Chicken and Fresh Mushroom @ RM 88

El Cerdo (31)

El Cerdo (32)

Something special to end off our great dinner Werner’s Special – Fresh Strawberry in Mango Sauce with Chocolate Mousse and Wild Raspberry Sherbet . At first it looks weird to all of us that nobody wanted to touch it, and it doesnt bother me and Jason till our expression came up good then Eric only took it. Sourish taste just as my liking that is just perfect to end this meal with this great desert. RM22.50

Overall, I enjoy myself in this dining and if you are saying would I come back again, I will say, DEFINATELY YES! as one of a pork lover this is surely a place that you would not want to miss. Recommended Restaurant. Bare that the food here doesnt comes cheap that you might have to dig a bit into your wallet as easily can comes to RM80-RM120 per pax depending on what is your order. 🙂 Its well worth spend.

Back in those years when I was studying, I was expose to Vodka with the very classic type which is Absolute Vodka with my very very first shot of that night had make me phobia of drinking it again. Since then, they had an improve range of Absolute Vodka – Pears, Blackcurrant, Vanilla, Mandarin, Citron and started to like that range with certain mixture, it surely pull up the kick on it.

Not until recently, Sidney tag me along to this brand new launching of Vodka at Changkat Bukit Bintang which I get the opportunity to expose myself to this brand new taste of it. Actually, it is not a stranger to me as I have seen the bottle on the market but never tried it before and since there is an opportunity come with this alcohol range, of course I am interested. This area had since gain its name to local and internationally which to me had transform to something more like Bangsar in town area.

I did not manage to capture the bottle so I have to loan a picture the net. Tonight, there wont be a big happy family around, but I am gladly to present you 3 sexy, slender chics to you with exquisite succulent fruit taste.

‘Skyy Infusion Raspberry’, ‘Skyy Infusion Lemon’ and last but not least ‘Sky Infusion Passion Fruit’ Their new range is to create for those desire fruit would be one of their ideal choices with their classic bottle design and make over to skinnier, taller overall, with a taller neck to suit the current contemporary lifestyle.

Twenty One Kitchen and Bar was being the selected place to host this wonderful launching, as I previously tried to arrange a birthday dinner here with nice, dim interior yet simple and classy look that gives you a relaxing feel that’s being my selected restaurant here besides that, I love their house music playing on the next level.

As we proceed to the next level on the event floor, you will be warmly welcome by this two great representative for Skyy Vodka.

We were there early, and it that was not many people on that time. As the time past, the people just filled up the place like minutes. As most of the people are attacking on the free flow of vodka serving and mingling around to widen their networks.

I consider this as their VIP area filled sofa’s and pillow which make up a great area to have birthday partie.
DJ spin deck area.
Of course must take picture with them la~ if not feel guilty. :p
Then I walked around to scout for my very first glass of Vodka till I came across this. Fresh passion fruit that infuse with vodka in it, a great way of combination that with the sour’ness of the passion fruit and the strong taste of passion fruit vodka had make it a perfect combination to eat it.

With their Skyy Vodka range this are the flavors that I manage to kidnap from the waiter. ‘Citrus in Lime’(if not mistaken), ‘Citrus in Orange’ and ‘Raspberry with Ice and crush fresh raspberry’. Every mixer distinguishes its unique in the flavor and Orange and Raspberry is my preferred choice.
The very next round, I saw a waiter brought a bunch of these serve to one of the table outside and I also do request for it. Looks nice and something which I don see around in the bar. A shot of Vodka with Raspberry, Lemon and Passion Fruit and my favorite among those 3 are Raspberry.

As the night proceeding where there is more people had filled up the place, the emcee had do some talking and presenting the range of Skyy Vodka and the best part is there is lucky draw and its not one, its many. Sidney was being one of the lucky winners. Then there are a few performances that arrange by them. One of it are:

I was standing way back when this guy was doing performance with its magic trick and if I do not remember wrongly this guy is one of the best magician in Asia. He was walking around to show us his magic trick. Some were impress, some were guessing what’s his illusion trick and some weren’t impress as they were busy talking. I were impress.

He showed us his empty hand and then make into fist and shoved the cloth in it.

He asked you to look carefully as he showed you his empty hand again. The next thing we know he starts to pull the cloth from the mouth. Yeng. I ask him what is his trick he said, this is magic…speechless. . . . . !
Next trick he is going to be one of the character in X-men. His flame hand trick.

It was a great night with me enjoying the shots and meeting new people there.
