Hmmm, this year I do travel alot and lets start off with my Australia journey that I have done which I have always wanted to go back visit my friend. This round did not stop by Melbourne but head direct to Sydney. One of a trip that is pretty last minute but nevertheless I have to thanks to Jun Wen for all the best hospitality and knowing I love food he bring me to all his favourite restaurant – Bassim.

On my late arrival, it was well just nice for dinner time. Therefore he introduce me one of the place that he drop by at least once a week to whack on all his favourite beef slice. When he ask me am I okay for Korean BBQ, of course my reply is hell yah. As far as I know till date, there are still none of the Korean restaurant can still beat anything here yet.

Bassium (1)

Bassim – Steak and Seafood House is like a neighborhood restaurant that located in Strathfield which is about 25 minutes drive away from city. The reason being here is that nearby my friends house.

Bassium (2)

Its a place that fully pack with humans during dinner time as I snap this pic when they are about to close the shop. Yap, we ate from 8.30pm till closing. That’s how much and how long we spend our time there.

Bassium (3)

This is what I mean when getting a spot in the restaurant wasnt easy.

NED_3114

If without any conversion rate, the price is definitely much cheaper to any Malaysian restaurant can offer.

Bassium (5)

Normally, Korean restaurant will give you alot of side dish, but this shop give you selected side dish to pair along with their bbq.

Bassium (6)

AFter BBQ this is the ingredient that you have to wrap along with, a slice of cabbage, garlic, cucumber and green chili.

Bassium (7)

Dipping along with the sauce to make it even more perfect.

Bassium (8)

Charcoal BBQ that bout to bbq your favourite ribs away.

Bassium (9)

Before that, order Denjang (if I am not mistaken) Bean paste soup with vegetable and beef. A perfect dish to go along with its winter outside something to bring back body heat. Pouring the soup over to the rice just  makes it a perfect combination to eat along. Slightly sour with mild spiciness.

Bassium (10)

2 types of meat we order for the night is Spicy Dak Galbi @ AUD 16 marinated along with special spicy sauce.

Bassium (11)

Here comes our ribs So Galbi @ AUD 19 with 3 portion. Look how pretty the red meat is with their own special marination sauce.

Bassium (12)

AS the ribs was added on top, the smell of it generated is aromatic. Cant wait to get a bite of it.

Bassium (13)

Grill till its medium well and left the bone there to char grill. Beef had been own grill to perfection, flavorful, and the seasoning that they use, makes the beef slice juicy. I keep picking up the beef slice and keep ordering till I was totally stuff.

Bassium (14)

Along the way my friend order this, to be eaten along with Beef slice to make it even more kick. We ended up ordering 7 portion of beef and 3 portion of chicken for 4 pax. Definitely all of us are big eater. :p It was a very satisfied dinner, whereby I have long forgotten the best taste of it. At the end of the meal only understand that why this is his favourite Korean place or he rate Bassim is the best Korean BBQ restaurant in Sydney so far. If you do have the time, this is definitely a restaurant worth trying.

It has been a while since I last visited Pavilion that I have less reason to be there now after I have moved. Traveling down town is just being lazy except there are friends from overseas that came over or any special occasions or events to attend. Well, we bought a discounted voucher from a website to try out this outlet Morganfield’s which is doing a discount of RM 25 voucher for RM15 which i think about 40% off which quite a value buy, so we decided to give it a try.

Morganfields (1)

Morganfields is located at the GSC Cinema wings or directly next to Overtime Pavilion. One of the reason we to get this voucher as Morganfield is Europeanized American casual diner specializing in pork ribs. Pork Ribs how can we miss that? Not many outlet that serve that even the famous Tony Roma’s also serve without pork (which is their signature too).

Morganfields (2)

Standing right outside the outlet and it was full house on Friday night, every one just hop onto bar and restaurant to get out from work as its heading weekend to chill with friends, thank god that I made my reservations which I am used to it already.

Morganfields (3)

They have outdoor area too especially for smokers.

Morganfields (4)

I love their interior design or would love anything which actually have simen wall/ interior base that create their own style of ambiance.

Morganfields (5)

Happy Hour certainly a good buy . .

Morganfields (6)

Love this bar dining section as the cool dim lighting just lit it perfectly.

Morganfields (7)

Interior with red brick wall, wooden planks, tables and chairs just blend the whole concept very well.

Morganfields (8)

Morganfields (9)

I was suprise that I was given what they so called VIP room. Its great to be in here as it is quieter compare to outside with full house and every table talking, just imagine that. One of the set back in this room is, its a bit hard to look for waiter / waitress as it is a bit hidden.

Morganfields (10)

Long hot day, so we ask the waitress what is nice for such weather and Cucumber Apple Mint Spirit was recommended! indeed it is a great drink with hint taste of cucumber that mint taste blends in very well and apple base at the in make it a perfect start. – REcommended~ @ RM 13.90

Morganfields (11)

Mango & Lime Lassi taste good just that one of the set back of it is the lime and its skin was blend along too that make it bitter with every sip. If without the skin in it, it would have taste perfect. RM 14.90

Morganfields (12)

 Smokehouse Club Salad @ 17.90

Morganfields (13)

As all of them wanted to start off with some thing light then salad was the first dish to arrive. Chicken meat breast was being the top of it and nothing special to shout about.

Morganfields (14)

Cheesy Fries is something similiar to Dog food(click here)  that we have tasted yet much better as this is Morganfield version. The whole plate was covered by cheeze and with some dippings to go along, certainly if beer was pair along with this, its a good combination and for the price of RM 14.90, its a good bargain with its portion.

Morganfields (15)

I didnt have this much for Tequila Spiked Chicken @ RM 32.90

Morganfields (16)

Ribs & RibsRM 65.90

Morganfields (17)

The signature for their outlet, pork ribs, being grill to soft and their bbq sauce is nice to pair along with its meat and we have opted for 2 sauce in here, BBQ sauce and Black Pepper sauce. On my preference, I just prefer this with their in house BBQ sauce. Black Pepper just taste weird with pork ribs.

Morganfields (18)

Lamb Chops was a bit overcook as its had turn to solid meat, burn the taste of the lamb taste and if it were to cook a bit medium well, would have been just fine. RM 49.90

Morganfields (19)

I find this Pork Chops is one of the best after the ribs with its texture of meat is soft and blend well with their special sauce. Something to look after for the price that they are offering. RM 29.90

Then funny thing for the night is, I wanted to order desert to end my meal, all of them give me many excuses to order later with:

– wait la, 2 of them went toilet

– eh, you got eat desert after dinner 1 meh? I thought you don like desert

– wait for me to finish my meal 1st la.. I was like huh? order first la.. “wait wait wait”

– can I have the menu please, “har u want to order d ah” can you please just wait for the rest to come back?

– Me- where they go so long eh..I want to order my desert now! ” others reply – okay, we help you order right after we came back from toilet!

Morganfields (20)

To my suprise, cakes were served along with them and it was a suprise bday arrangement from them. No wonder I cannot order my desert. . .

Morganfields (21)

Morganfields (22)

These were the crazy friends that celebrated with me on 2 weeks ago.. Thank you guys~ Hugsss!~!~!~

Morganfields (24)

As every one left, I took again a picture of this area. Just love it.

Morganfield is one of the outlet I would just drop by for a drink as I find the food so so only, and on the pricing wise, its a high to pay for meal like this..

I prefer Chicago Ribs House (click here) over this, in terms of price and food quality . .:D

All of us we know that when we crave for Bak Kut Teh, the first location that pop into our mind is Klang or some where in Kuala Lumpur, never did it ever cross my mind that a new township that build by SP Setia at Shah Alam which is the new upcoming area that had attracted some restaurant to be operated around the area. Fang Xiang Bak Kut Teh

Restaurant Fang Xiang Bak Kut Teh is one of the new restaurant that had been operate in the area for just less than 2 weeks yet had attracted quite a number of crowd to the place, one great thing at this restaurant is that they operate long hours from early morning till night. The place is fairly easy to be sighted as you travel along NKVE highway towards Klang and will see Tesco Setia Alam and with one of the big sign board, that would be the restaurant.

fang xiang (1)

With a cartoon girl on the signage, there is a reason behind it and there are ample of parking space.

fang xiang (2)

As the restaurant is still new, future expension is under consideration as currently the whole restaurant, smoking is allow.

fang xiang (3)

With many parts of pork to choose from, and they sure do have one of their signature pork is one part that must order!

fang xiang (4)

This is our order, for da day . .. They served by bowl and limited soups is available as the owner had cook more than 100 times to get it right and also by trail and error, most important is the customer feedback given to them that had made her own style of bak kut teh out. The soup served here is very mild in taste, not too watery.

fang xiang (6)

As some of the customer loves ‘Tau Pok’ and for this restaurant, they are giving it complimentary.

fang xiang (10)

Yau Mak veggie with fried garlic.

fang xiang (7)

Go Hui meat which lies in between spine bones and ribs. The meat in this part is soft with fork poking through it easily split out that is sitted by the side of the bone.

fang xiang (8)

The pork belly meat (Sam Chan Bak) lives up to my expecation that cook till soft and thin layer of fats at the top of the meat.

fang xiang (9)

As I mention one of their signature dish, which is the back part of the pig as mention by the owner, she said that there are only 4 pieces of it at each pig and not many places sell this part. The best part of this is the skin fats with a thin layer at the top, as this part is easily obtain by the owner is because the dad is a butcher and always reserved the best part of pork for the restaurant. Only limited pieces are available.

This is Yvonne the owner cum chef for the restaurant. You never be so suprise that its just a young chef as usually Bak Kut Teh in our mind is cook by more mature people with their great recepi had been pass down from generation by generation. Most of the people working in the restaurant are mostly family members and most of them are very young. I did ask her why she open the restaurant, she is a big fan of Bak Kut Teh that makes  her own very first restaurant.

Price ranging from RM8-RM20 which is reasonable.

CrisTang is no longer a stranger to most of the foodie, this is not an ordinary burger like our fast food chain or Ramly burger, when comes to the crave of this, I have been reading a lot of foodie blog about this place with certain selection which is must have or must try! Famous Pork Burger CrisTang

It was not until recently, I manage to drag my colleague to dine at this place which I have been wanted to go for so long~ In this restaurant, besides the famous pork burger, they have a unique dressing which is sambal petai to add onto the burger!

Christang

Cristang Restaurant is located at 8 Avenue Business Centre Seksyen 8 PJ, which for the first time I took the wrong turn and lead me to one big round to reach this place.

Christang (2)

It is a cozy restaurant that lightly dims . . .

Christang (3)

with some decorations feels like old english . . . .

Christang (4)

and the place of the restaurant is not huge, limited spaces are available as when we reach there, around 6.30pm, the place were arleady 90% book up. Only left 2 tables for us to choose from.

Advice: please make a reservation, if you plan to visit this place on the weekend~

Christang (5)

Christang (6)

A mini bar that serve variety of drinks and alcohol, especially Germen Beers.

Christang (7)

This are my siau bestie, colleague that makes them a good drinking, travelling and siau people to go along with but the day turns very miserable for one of them.

Christang (8)

This place cannot be denied that they serve pork, so piggy is everywhere with the pillow for you to sit on and to accompanied you eating too.

When we look at the menu, its full with temptations, with the description written in it, everything sounds delicious. Comes to a conclusion that, we start off with a must order item . . . . Besides serving their famous pork burger, they do have other selection such as pasta, western food and some local cuisine to choose from. Their famous pork burger with P1 – P9 to choose from.

After read a few post on history as this restaurant at Singapore which alot people recommending not to be miss. . As for Malaysians now, need not have to travel so far to enjoy such a beer that Craft Brews is a Non-Halal Restaurant is the latest addtion to our very local F & B market that all of us can enjoy their special brew beers by locating themselves one of the prime location in Mutiara Damansara.

Craft Brew

Craft Brew (2)

Love their, dim lighting, modern contemporary style yet setting off a soft music on the background had put this place into my list for gathering and hang outs also love their waiter and waitress outfit.

Craft Brew (3)

One of the special beer brew from Singapore that serve on tab along with Monster Green Lager and English Ale.

Craft Brew (4)

At this bar area, you will see pipes pressure gauges and levers around the bar area design with international microbrewery look.

Craft Brew (5)

Craft Brew (6)

Yet we get a warm welcome with a box and a letter that contains our names and a few small packets teaching us how to brew our very own beer.

Craft Brew (7)

Wide range of drinks to select from and to be enjoy.

Craft Brew (8)

When I walked to this area, I got very surprise to see a beer in GREEN COLOUR? This would be my very first encounter and that is the beer that I must try first. The beer starts with (from right to left) Czech Pilsner, English Ale, Monster Green Lagger, Weizen (wheat beer).
Ended up my favourite of the night was Czech Pilsner and Monster Green Lager. Love the smoothness and the barley and wheat boil brew of the taste individually.

Craft Brew (9)

Everyone hit on the food which looks finger licking good.

Craft Brew (10)

Craft Brew (11)

‘Honey Mustard Ribs’ as I used to hate mustard years ago and now I have learn how to enjoy the taste of it. With a bit of honey sweetness that had been grill till the honey had soak into the ribs yet mustard seasoning which is a bit sour just combines both of the flavor very well as I am swallowing my saliva while looking at this pic recalling the taste.

Craft Brew (12)

Craft Brew (13)

Follow by ‘Mex-Tex Ribs’, juicy and succulent yet soft from the inside out with the seasoning that grill on the grill er is something we just do not want to miss out. I clean the ribs solid clean till the bone got dry after left a while on the plate.

Craft Brew (14)

After some chatting, eating and drinking, we are on to our Beer lesson. How do we enjoy our beer to the best.

Craft Brew (15)

All of us looking so serious and paying attention to our class.

Craft Brew (16)

One of the lesson is how do you enjoy the ‘Monster Green Lager‘ the best taste of it, is to eat along with a piece of bacon, that the saltiness that add in a layer on your tongue yet you drink with he smoothness, aromatic beer that wash away with the saltiness on the tongue add in extra kick on it. Its like red wine with steaks.
It was a great experience with Craft Brews with great food and beers. Surely I would return for their food as the price range is kinda reasonable and of course all credits to Hsu Jen for the special invites.
