I guess to many of us that when we dine in Lammeeya, it is pretty straight forward that they are famous for their signature Lammeeya, Lam Mee. One of their outlet in Uptown Damansara offers more than that. That they do offer home cook delicious dish on their extended menu which mostly had started off with this menu.

Lameeya (1)

I have heard many good things about this branch that their taste is always consistent and in tip top that hardly disappoint you. This is not my first time here, as I have came here a few times that I did not blog about it till  now. 😀

Lameeya (2)

If you come here during lunch time, you will have a massive hard time finding carpark as Uptown already famous for their congested area, and one of the best time to come and dine of course after work hours, which is much easy to find car park compare to day time. Not only that, to find  a seat in the restaurant would be much easier too.

Lameeya (3)

In this outlet, interior of the outlet which is a bit more contemporary compare to other outlets you have seen and you shall see more of the new concept from Lammeeya on other outlets as they plan to upgrade.

Lameeya (4)

In this outlet they also offer cakes which is made by them too . .

Lameeya (5)

I am usually a big fan of their healthy drink with many type to offer and some of the combination they made out create a curiosity for me to give it a try too.

Lam Mee @ RM 13.80

Lameeya (11)

Their Lam Mee including prawns and own home made pork ball, and soup base gravy is thick as I usually eat and to make it more best, I usually add on two mini bowl of sambal they provide as I love mine to be spicy.

Lameeya (12)

If you have work outside quite often and miss some home cook soup, they do offer some double boil soup to please you and the taste of the soup is just there, brings out the right amount of taste that pair very well with inside ingredient that they have added in.

1) Watercrest Soup

2) Old cucumber soup

3)

Lameeya (13)

If you want some simple dish to make you satisfy or craving for some sort of Penang, Char Koey Teow, they do cook it very near to our style and its a recommended dish by me as the koey teow is cook to perfection with wok hei and its not spicy. For me I just love mine to be extra spicy, one thing that make it good is because they cook along with Duck Egg.

Lameeya (14)

Another super star dish of the night which is Stew Pork with Potato.I know, I know, its simple dish that we used to eat it from home cook or economy rice? How many actually can cook it till very nice and this is exceptional that when it was serve with the aroma flying around our nose, it was instantly rape and gone within seconds. – Recommended! @ RM 19.80

Lameeya (15)

A simple ladies finger that been soft boil in hotwater for a while add on with soy sauce and some finely mince chili with garlic to make it chewy and nice to bite, along with it, its a simple nice dish to start off with.

Lameeya (16)

Pork Leg Vinegar  @ RM 23.80

Lameeya (17)

Chu kiok chow.. one of the favourite terms that my friend always like to use as it is one of his favourite dish, as whenever he come across the availability he would never miss to order it as he always compare back with his grandmother style. For this round, he hardly commented because it was perfectly cook, with the meat is soft, and some juicy fats is thick yet it had been boil for long enough to make it soft that nearly melts on your tongue. The salty sauce is just right not too salty yet with enough of rice wine to make it aromatic. To go along with rice is the perfect combination for this.

Lameeya (18)

Wine chicken that cook along with herbs and lots of ginger. Some of you might like it or hate it with one of the reason the wine is pretty powerfull. Well, to me i am good with it as for a dish like this, I always prefer it to be in stronger taste.

Lameeya (19)

Hee, why why we do not go for white rice as they have the option of Pork Lard Oil rice that cook in mini claypot. Surely, it brings the omph in with so many dish that we can pair along.

Lameeya (20)

You and I might have the same thought on looking down this dish which is Ginger & Wine Omelet @ RM 19.80. This simple dish proves us wrong when we had a bite of it. With strong fried egg taste and did not over cook as the wine taste just blend in very well.

Lameeya (21)

One of my childhood favourite dish, simple yet delicious. Steam Pork with Dong Choy @ RM 19.80 – REcommended

Lameeya (22)

Lameeya (24)

Lameeya (25)

Mushroom with Mince Meat Chee Cheong Fun @ RM 11.80, hehe,  I prefer the normal dry version to my likings. Some of them they prefer this, well again depends on you. 😉

1) Tiramisu

2)

3) Oreo Cheeze Cake

4) Chocolate mud cake which is pretty good that is not too sweet, warm with chocolate oozing out. – REcommended

Lameeya (29)

For desert, the super star that blew our mind away is this Banana Crepe with the warm banana dressing which is cook and  made on the spot, that pairs very well with the aromatic crepe. Ice cream to compliment along with the hot and cold sensation enough to make your teeth numb. – Highly Recommended!!

Now its my turn to share with you all on this great food that this outlet have to offer, that for the next few days we dine there again for lunch as they have set lunch available. Again never disappoint us with most of their food are pretty good. This branch top in my chart that is worth recommending. . 🙂

It had been ages since I last came to this shop. The last time when I came was back to 2009 which I did blog bout it before when I just started blogging (click here). As today I went for my first medical check up, thought of revisit this shop and Just got to know that they have change their name of the shop, from restaurant Living Food to MKP Lam Mee or Uptown Lam Mee (wondering is it the same) which I thought should be as the whole shop setting still the same.

The only difference in this shop is the crowd as I remember few years back, to get a spot in this shop is quite hard, as it was one of a famous Lam Mee shop in Uptown or among the neighborhood as my friend recommend to me.

Well, I still stick to their traditional signature ‘Lam Mee’ whereby the difference compare to Penang we call this ‘Loh Mee’ as our Lam Mee is in clear soup version. You get to choose their thick noodle or thin noodle as I still remember they are famous for their thick noodle. The soup base is still thick and a bit starchy yet still the same taste as I previously ate before the only difference is the texture of the thick noodle had change. Find it a bit sticky not so nice to chew compare to last time and I prefer mine to add on with their 2 small plate of sambal to make it extra kick! If next round I would order, I would go for their thin noodle. I think it would be better.

Only difference between the thing is the noodle and of course price had increase. A plate of Lam Mee, 2 pieces of ‘Fried Sui Kaw’ and 1 chinese tea cost RM10.10.

One of the place in Melaka to hunt for food, Jason introduce us this fresh seafood that he constantly visit and now, it is not only famous to local crowds as many Singaporean also drop by this place according to him. The place is about 15 minutes’ drive out from the town area towards very ‘kampung side’ Seri Muara Alai Nasir Ikan Bakar and turn into a small lane with sandy rockies road with paddy field at one side to reach this place. We were advice to start the journey early as it is easily filled up very fast. We reach here at 6pm, so the whole place still pretty empty.

haji nasir (1)

This place is located at Alai and by the eatery place name of HJ Nasir Ikan Bakar (Grill Fish).

haji nasir (3)

Now I understand why they said the seafood here is very fresh, some of the fisherman come back from the straights of Melacca, which is not too far from here and he get all the first hand fresh seafood first.

haji nasir (5)

In a hot weather like this, it is always best to sit outside for more cool wind.

haji nasir (2)

When we move over to this mini stall to order our food, we were spoil with choices, with so many types of fish and seafood available.

haji nasir (4)

Then grill fresh on the pit area. . .

haji nasir (6)

All off us were pretty full from some other food hunt earlier, and make it 2nd last stop before heading back to KL.

haji nasir (7)

Small pack of Nasi Lemak was served which is optional, and decided to give it a try, and it was a let down. The rice was damp, not much fragrant and the sambal look very spicy which is not really.

haji nasir (9)

Kam Hiong Clams

haji nasir (10)

Fried Squid were really good, fresh squid which is very chewy and the amount of crispiness on the layer of it, just nice and dip it with chili sauce is perfect. We order another round of it.

haji nasir (11)

Spicy Fried Stingray, well prepared with crispy edge on its tail and the meat in the middle is still very soft, and spread with their own homemade sambal on top just right.

haji nasir (12)

They just cant wait ..  too hungry again . . as we have seperate the right table are all small eaters including me, and on the left are all heavy weight champion eater.

haji nasir (13)

BBQ Prawns

haji nasir (14)

Grill Kembung Fish with sambal.

Cannot deny that the price here is cheap as we paid around RM 20 per pax after divided out and all of this are in 2 portion and the seafood is fresh. Taste wise, nothing to shout about, yet if like kampung style dining, this would be a place to go after.

It is quite surprising that my friend told me there is a place that offer good coffee. Then he just said, lets go and try it out. Based on the location given, I find it very weird as it leads me to residential area and no sign of coffee place to be found and asked the guard he told me is correct and I just park my car in the covered area free parking (which is super good). Ristretto

One of the place that my colleague really fond of when comes to lunch time, this place had attracted them to drive all the way from Bukit Jalil to somewhere behind Istana Negera, Jalan Bellamy to hunt for this Ikan Bakar (Grill Fish) stall around the area. I used to think, what is so good about this place as they always mention Ikan Bakar ya for lunch, till I tag along.

ikan bakar (1)

In the area, it is very obvious that there is a stretch of Ikan Bakar stall with only one of it is extremely busy compare to the others. The trick is, arriving early to get a parking space as the area are quite small and its limited parking available, also long queue in the line for food and finding tables.

ikan bakar (2)

I am suprise to see the huge frying pan filled with alot of seafood being grilled and consistant grilling till after lunch, with common grilled seafood are, sotong (squids), udang (prawns), ikan (fish), and many other types more. Most of the seafood are huge in size.

ikan bakar (3)

Then there is a tray located next to the grilled pan and from there, is where you start hunting for your favourite seafood to be place on your plate.

ikan bakar (4)

The things that you must not miss out when eating ikan bakar is their special sauce ingredients, as most of the stalls have different taste and types of chili to be added onto the seafood as condiments for this stalls is called ‘cicah kicap’ that I usually added it on with fish to add on some extra kick to it, filled with lime taste, and a bit sweet in sauce. Next is the ‘spicy sambal’ that my colleague whack it like nobody’s business as if like not spicy. One simple dip on it, makes my tears instanly flow out and sweat oozing out. It is very spicy, do try it out if you love the challenge under this hot weather.

ikan bakar (5)

One of my favourite seafood ‘Ikan Pari’ (sting ray) as I like it with the meat is easily peel off and dip with both the condiments. Just do note that the bigger the fish is, the meat are harder, I usually prefer mine in a smaller piece which is nicely grilled with the banana leave wraping over it to create the extra aroma.

ikan bakar (6)

Then I tried ‘Siakap’ (if not mistaken) as I prefer this the most. Grilled till very aromatic with a bit burn on the skin and the meat is very soft.

ikan bakar (7)

Sotong (Squid)

ikan bakar (8)

One of the food I was told by the Makcik to try on it is this homemade ‘Tapai’, a type of traditional fermented food origins from East and SouthEast Asia which is made of cassava and rice or glutinious rice. I usually do not like the taste of it, but for this homemade version, I find the taste quite okay, with the fermented taste is mild and the rice is soft. I finish one of it by myself.

ikan bakar (9)

If you feel that you do not like what offer on the pan grill then there is a Nasi Melayu behind the stall which offer alot of food on the tray for you to choose. By the time I left was around 1pm and the place is crazy, with all the lunch crowd pouring in and the traffic had worsen.

Overall, the food is okay, once a while to dine here is pretty alright as the price is a little pricy compare to the location of it. . .

I like it very much as I ended up having 2 glass.
