Usually during lunch time, my colleague will bring me to dine as many places as possible, and Yoke Heng Seafood Restaurant is one of the restaurants that they had introduced to me. I have been here a few times as most of my colleague love this place. During lunch time, this place will be pack with people and it is advice to go early go get quick food and also to avoid the big crowd.

The chili for us to add on during our meal serving.

I have always been wondering when I pass this shop no matter day or night, its always quite pack. It is that nice were the question I have been asking myself…cuz I have a very bad experience with their Sunway Branch. Till we went to lunch for the Shabu Shabu next door and they said, har..not that kind they prefer then we shifted to this shop and I start to say, weiii..don wan this shop can ah, then most of them agree here then what can I say some more. So just tag along la..

Papa Rich interior design is always kinda exclusive kopitiam concept as when I stayed at my aunts place at Seapark there are 1 Papa Rich also which is quite pack with people and the same with Old Town. Currently I would rate that Old Town main competitor is Papa Rich which had been mushrooming like crazee. Popping up in most of the makan makan area.

In the menu, picture illustration is even better than Old Town but the only thing to test on was their quality of food.

Kopi Si Peng was strong in coffee flavour but disappointing the ais is to much which for a few sips its gone. Left the ice-bone.

Their Kaya and Butter Toast’ which is a bit different because they separate it out and let you spread it over yourself and the best part is the give you the whole slice of butter. The bread was bakar to crispiness on the edge and spread kaya and butter given is just very nice.
Nasi Lemak which the rice is cook with some santan which we prefer and the curry chicken is not that spicy, a bit lemak and the sambal is just nice. Not too spicy but eat along just pull up the taste of the dish.

I love their version of ‘Curry Mee which is very lemak and a bit thick in soup base. A bit spicy yet the soup is boiling hot which suits to my likings and I eat till sweating all over.
‘Prawn Mee look very disappointed but we were surprise by the taste of it. It was serve very oily base and we slowly scoop it off and left a bit which its original version should be and the soup base is very flavourful, taste like they had take the prawn shell to crush and cook with it. Its very sweet prawn shell base aroma and added in the chili making it spicy is just perfect yet its boiling hot.
‘Dry Ipoh Koey Teow which I find it nothing special to talk about as there are better ones.
I have lost the receipt but I can say that the price is slightly more expensive than Old Town but for this branch I definitely do not mind to come here again and its a good place for hang out with friends too.

I have always heard that Kajang stay is good and how good but thinking of travelling there is always stops me from going to that area till few weeks back, when we went for a food testing to get a tender for new Canteen operator and since we were half way there, we decided to go there for lunch then. SATAY!!!!! In this kind of situation, I surely support 200%. 🙂

When we reach there, I were told by my friends that the like this stall compare to another restaurant. Their taste and my taste is about the same so I will trust their selection.

After we place our order, an old uncle was standing start to grilled the satay. The stick looks so tempting as its well marinated, judging from the looks of it.
If you were eating satay, one of the thing that you must not miss or the extra kick to the satay which is the nut gravy. The add on a bit of the sambal in the gravy gives the extra kick in it and I just cannot stop eating by dipping with cucumber and onion. Then I request the guy to take another 3 small bowl for me.

Here comes my juicy satay as we order:

Chicken RM0.60, Beef RM0.70, Mutton RM0.90, Duck RM0.90

Chicken is soft and well marinated. The beef did not grill till very hard still taste good. Mutton is my big time favourite with its stink lamb taste with its marinated sauce with its seasoning. Recommended. Duck meat taste like lamb cross over with chicken but still thumbs up.

‘Hailam Noodle’ A bit salty but still edible.

‘Wat Tan Hor’ taste normal, nothing to boast about.
I cant remember this name but copare to those 2, I would prefer this one. A bit salty too but at least well fried.
For me, I can just hantam the satay for 20-30 sticks only withouth eating the nooodle. Sure gives me the satisfaction. I will sure be returning to enjoy the satayz and Jonathan told me that the ‘Fish Satay’ is the best choice among those all(surely I will be ordering next round). Even though travelling quite a distance, but paid off.

Closed Tuesdays.

Just found these pictures back and nearly forgot about it. Wok café seems to be quite famous and been visited by a lot of bloggers, that created my curiosity on their food quality, as it has been given thumbs up. The shop is also famous with mostly Penang Hawker variety which recommended by most of the blogger.

Then so coincidently my friend from pg came down and known the chef of the café as she told me that they are good friend. Of course gladly I am taking them there which is not too hard to locate.

The shop is decorated in a very classic Nyonya style filled with wooden chair and marble tables which I rate it as a kopitiam style.

So our pesta makan starts.
‘Hokkien Char’ Filled with wok hei, yet pour in the sambal given just add in the extra taste. RM8

‘Char Koey Teow’ Me and my friend enjoying as it was fried to perfection, yet filled with si ham, and prawns. I would prefer if it was a bit more spicy. RM8
‘Otak Otak’ It is soft, with a big piece of fish chunk in the middle but I have eaten a better one. RM4
‘Ju Hu Char’ Was a complimentary by the chef to my friend, which we always take it and wrap with the veggie an eat. A bit sweet in taste but I prefer my grandma’s style which is abit salty.
‘Roast Pork with Garlic’ We enjoy this dish, which is quite a bit sweet and salty, yet the fats of the roast pork are just what we prefer. RM16
The ‘Lorbak Set’ ss one of their signature, is quite big in a roll, fried till crispy on the outer layer filled with meat but I prefer other stalls. RM8

‘Kerabu Mango’ Sweet and sour create sensation on our tongue which is one that I would recommend. RM8
‘Sotong KangKung’ It is quite watery after got served, which they did not dry out the kangkung enough, the shrimp paste have to be added in with some of the chili added to bring in the kick. If the shrimp paste is a bit thicker it would be even nicer. RM10

‘Sago gula Melaka’ RM 3.50 Find it too sweet with the floating layer of santan and thick layer of gula Melaka.
‘Mango Cendul’ Unique in the name which I have not tried before, but just not my taste which the mango doesn’t go along with cendul and gula Melaka. RM3.50
I would say that the service was prompt as the dad were seated next to us which is the cashier, and the dad got quite surprise that 3 person of us eating so much, which is me and another 2 girl.

As overall, I don think I know how to enjoy eating Nyonya food but I would surely return for the Penang Hawker food.

Remarks: please go there early to avoid disappointment which is the signature like Hokkien Mee and Curry mee already finish. Be there b4 8.30

After very disappointed lunch and still hungry cuz did not finish the meal and thought of having desert here, again as alot of times I passby saw quite alot of ppl and the food they offer seems good.
The food stall is mange by 2-3 auntie, thought that ppl around that age would cook good food. As I look around alot of ppl are eating the Nasi Lemak which I think is their signature food. Judging from the Nasi Lemak it is a very plain, just with egg, nuts, anchovies and sambal. Do not look tempting to me.

This is the look of the stall.

From the picture of the ‘Tong Sui’ it sure look very nice and so to be happened that on that day itself I forgot to walk over to see the quality of the ‘Tong Sui’ as you can peek at the counter where they warm it with rice cooker.

This is what I order Yi Mai Fu Chuk (front) and ‘Black Glutinous Rice with Coconut Milk’(back)

To my dismay, I was like so watery till ike drinking water. Do Not look like tong sui at all! The ingredient that they gave in there is like 1/8 of the bowl the rest is water. Too little. The taste totally gone..no sweetness or the taste of fu chuk or bali. Hopeless drink. I only manage to drink 3 sip.

This is the ‘Black Glutinous Rice with Coconut Milk’. By looking at the picture will know that it is a bad 1. I have never seen such tong sui before. Not sticky, the coconut milk like mix with water as the colour of it is so pale.

The Bak Chang’ also not nice, it is dry, full with nuts and abit tasteless. Quite expensive for noting much in a chang. Only nuts, salted egg yolk and mushroom.
Total for the 3 item is RM10 which is WTF!!! with the quality they are serving. Just not my lunch day. Eat every thing also tasteless and down loh~~~
Just wondering, the food is so not nice, why is it still so many people?

Got invited by Lucia to join dinner with her friends at SS 2. Did not know this place exist even used to stay at my aunts place nearby. I was so surprise with the crowd in this restaurant. So crowded and so pack of people. It is like, ‘Welcome, Only RM 15p/pax eat all you can’ that kind of crowd. I was already late 30 mins for the dinner and hell!!! to find a parking spot in the area is not easy. After round and round 2 rounds then round back in front of the restaurant and so ngam nice nice got 1 parking spot can fit in my small car. Lucky me~

This is Lucia and Malcom her friend which is always standby anytime and any where, with your camera ready to snap, they are ready instantly even they are still chatting. Lol. After snapping they are back to their conversation~ This is downstairs + outside of the restaurant.
We were gladly sitting upstairs with air conditioning.

Started of with ‘Salmon Lou Sang’. The salmon is so so, not that fresh yet not that hard to eat. With the sauce and everything pour in, it taste good, not too sweet for the sauce and salty and with some of the oil and spices, just ngam ngam. Nice lou sang. Did not put the after effect of the lou sang as it was too messy. Censored~

This dish don know called what as the order are all done by Malcom. When I was there, the food was like served instantly. Not much taste on this veggie. Can’t really taste the garlic also but the veggie is nicely fried.
This is the veggie with long beans fried with eggplant, mince meet and some tiny shrimps. It taste a bit spicy, but goes well along with the taste of sambal and the petai. The taste nicely covered the petai smell not that strong on it.
This is the Chicken in don know what, one of the famous dish in the restaurant as I did observe alot people ordered it. Was nicely cook, abit of sweet watermelon taste, the chicken is nicely cook and the mean is soft like steam and fried chicken.

This is their signature Taufu. It is very soft and the mince meet is a bit salty. Perfectly goes along with the taufu as it is nicely fried.

I must say that, this is the best dish of all night. The fish is nicely steam out, the meat is so soft and the fish is very fresh goes along very well with the gravy similar to soy sauce. Do not know what type of fish is this but it is very nice. Should try it out.

This is the ‘Pai Kuatcuz extra order it when i was there. The pork is very soft in it and the gravy is a bit sweet and sour.

This is the receipt for the whole course meal. The receipt comes in a total of RM198 shared among 8 people. The price is so so for the food they provide. The service is good as there are alot of worker standing by nearby. The dish name is in Chinese totally do not know how to read it. The whole experience was nice to meet you guys~
