Love pastry? Why not try out something new .. There is a shop I stumble upon 2 weeks ago at Publika that sells Hungarian bread. How I got attracted to it is that the friendly owner himself handing out the tester and it was pretty good. Then during my purchase got to know more about the little stall more. I ask him how do I describe this, he mention its a type of pastry taste like bread and a bit soft like cakes. Interesting I say.

kalac (1)

This whole bread or cakes originate from Transylvania also known as one of a traditional wedding Pastry. It name as Kurtos Kalacs in Hungary languages. Kurtos means Chimney, where as Kalacs is a type of pastry.

kalac (2)

You can see Malaysians at his shop as baker but the main lead is from the owner himself as the secret recipi comes from him, hence that is how the name secret 009 came about. All their dough are being made from scratch at the shop and bake fresh daily.

kalac (4)

They turn out in a form of rolls and easy to peel. Not only that, there are a few flavours for you to choose. Ranging from original – its a must try, rather plain and aromatic with its dough softness and special add on flavours. You can try if they have tester before you buy.

kalac (3)

Besides that, they have peanut. . .

kalac (5)

Cinamon. .

kalac (6)

Chocolate.

I bought 3 flavours home, with Cinamon, chocolate and original and find that its best to eat it fresh. As the owner told me that if you want to eat it the next day, use oven to reheat it about 3-4 minutes then its fresh to eat again. My advice is not to buy the chocolate flavour as its easy to melt.

Love the texture of this Hungarian Kalacs, that I would say its in between pretzel and bread. 😀

Worth to give it a try as they sell in 3 different sizes, for Small is RM 6, then have medium and one full roll.

[update 1/5/2016:Close Down] know now as Pretz and Beanz

Coffee industry in Malaysia is picking up, as there are more and more of these stand alone outlets that offer different kinds of coffee to consumers. One of the latest brand which is Chilla Cup is growing fast around Klang Valley.

Solaris (1)

Tried their outlet in Solaris area which I have passby a few times. Right before my road trip, decided to drop by for coffee.

Solaris (2)

Design of the outlet are nice and simple with brick wall with sofa seating area.

Solaris (3)

Solaris (4)

I must say that I am impress with the manner of the outlet manager not only that, as he found out that I am a blogger, Suprise.. besides that he is nice friendly and know what is the best offering in the outlet.

Solaris (5)

Order came in with some of my friends that went to the outlet before, Chilla Cup Pretzels is a must try, order my classic flavour Cinnamon pretzel. It was prepare fresh, right from scratch that need to wait for 5-10 minutes, soft, and nice. I must say its good~ no wonder they love it.

Solaris (6)

Fruit pancake was recommended and looks great at its presentation. Not long after that, the whole thing turn soggy pretty instant because of fruit was use that cause water generate down to the pancake, we only finish half of it.

Solaris (7)

Latte large to start of with, it was rather dissappointed with the froth being in this version, not only that, it taste no comment.

Solaris (8)

Mocha large was next, at least it taste slightly better and there are room for improvement. I only can comment that different barista will brew different quality out. They still need lots room of improvement to make a good cup of coffee.

Overall, it is not a cheap breakfast with paying nearly RM 40++ for 4 items. With the price being spent I could easily find other place that offer better food and coffee.

None of us can ever imagine that we received such a unique invites. . . No matter who you are, your reaction would be like us, either your jaw drop, scratch ur head with lots of question mark, or just stun for a few seconds to double confirm on the invites that we got. We could not believe ourself too, that we actually got invited to do a review in a 5 stay hospital which is Prince Court Medical Center which hidden one fantastic restaurant, Food Gelleria.

As for us, when we reach, we do not really know what is prepared for us, as our minset already got stuck Hospital + restaurant = patient food / healthy food. . . but to our suprise, it proves all of us wrong.

Food Galleria

For me, I would really rate it as a hidden gem which is situated directly a level under the lobby provide with a big special place.

Food Galleria (2)

A simple setting was placed all over the restaurant to suit well lit up place.

Food Galleria (3)

A cup that happens 4 years once had attracted every one from near and far to get together to watch this fantastic event yet most of the restaurant are taking this opportunity to promote their special menu for the season. . .

Food Galleria (4)

Food Galleria (5)

Food Galleria (15)

Suprise us not, that this restaurant is not about serving patient food that gives misconception to alot of us, but this pack of pills are used as decorations that are filled with salt, pepper, curry powder and others.

Food Galleria (16)

If you are a patient in this hospital, we were shown by the management how they prepare food for them, with many catagories and depends the dietitian prepare for you, and you can choose ala carte form to order your food, as I would say, being pampered while sick.

Food Galleria (17)

Let’s get back to our normal menu and a special menu been created out specially for this big event, World Cup as most of the food creation are according to the countries name. One great thing about this restaurant is they change their menu every 3 months that doesnt let the customer eat the same thing again and again, what we eat now, definately will not get to eat anymore or in another words is limited edition menu. This menu will expire after the World Cup.

Genre: Horror/ Mystery/ Thriller

The poster give me an idea of what to expect its something like what my friend show me on a few series of a group of HK people came down to Malaysia to track those paranormal activity and this is the Western version of it. While I was taking tickets, the warning sign was, patrons might be dizzy watching it..then I was like shit…camcorder version like one of the last show which I have forgotten the name of that movie and of course thanks to Nuffnang for the invites.
The show is kinda boring most of the time till like most of the scene in the bed room we kept our eyes wide open to see where the ghost is and got scared a few times and the best part of the movie is the last 20 minutes is the spookiest scene on the movie. Footprint, shadows, picture frame glass broke and got scratch on the picture, the gal got drag, and the girl kena posses is the most Geli part and I keep having goose bumps.

At the end of the show, its very funny that my friend ask me to accompany him to toilet cuz he ‘kiok yuen’ lol and now understand that western ghost and asian ghost is different.
