I have heard so much about Serai on them serving good local good from my friend and it was till few days ago, as we head to their new outlet for colleague farewell lunch that located inside this very new Jaya Shopping Center that open its door a week back.

Serai (1)

Located on ground floor and facing the main road its hard for you to miss this outlet when you drive pass by.

Serai (2)

Nice interior and yet comfy, certainly suits for those who come in large groups as in between they have nicely partition panel to separate it out with lights shining thru the side.

Serai (3)

One main thing that caught my attention the most is their cake range that is display so colorful and pretty sitting inside the fridge that make it so tempting.

Tried their signature drink that quite many recommended is Serai Ice Tea @ RM 12. Its definately a thirst quenching drink with sorbet ice cream added on that makes it extra kick, as lemongrass and mint makes it a perfect balance and tea is pretty strong. I just find it, its way too sweet for my taste bud and if they have a seperate sugar syrup at the side, that would be a perfect option for people to play with the sweetness level.

We were force to take individual picture and I have to do the ugly pose. ** Sighhhh

Serai (7)

Tried their most classic range is Nasi Lemak @ RM 16 that is serve with chicken drum stuck with their very own homemade sambal that is spicy enough to make you sweat. Chicken is marinated and fried to perfection that when upon serving it smells so good.

Spicy Thai Rice is not really spicy as its mild enough to make your taste bud jump a while yet fried with wok hei. Impressive. @ RM 15

Serai (9)

Looking that their fusion range, we decided to be adventurous and try out their Rendang Penne @ RM 23. First few bite it taste good as its pungent in taste yet as we eat it more, you will feel its too stuffing as my sister did not finish the portion, they are generous with the beef rendang being added in.

When comes to Spaghetti Vongole, I always have high expectation on it and being understood that its a Halal Restaurant yet I still keen on trying one. Just turn out not my choice of food. @ RM 23

Didnt really enjoy my speghetti and turn to their dessert range, that this sure do capture my attention the most as this flavour is hardly found in any cake outlet in KL – Hazelnut Roche as its pretty similar to one of my favourite Gelato flavour and its in cake form. This sure do balance up my meal as its done to perfection with both flavour of hazelnut and roche is pretty prominent in taste and cake texture is moist enough. Adilla was asking for second piece and told her we will come back for their cake range. 😀

Farewell lunch with one of my close colleague Jone and we wish you all the best  ..  .

Lunch here is pretty decent if you are looking for a relaxing place and willing to fork slightly more , then this would be ideal. Local food here certainly do lift up the expectation and would advise to skip their spaghetti range.

I find that Sarawak Laksa is really good, a bit more ‘lemak’ and using bee hoon and don add on ‘Heh Ko’ in it.
