If you walk on Bukit Bintang area, you will notice that Middle East Food is starting to mushroom around the area that we had drawn quite a lot of crowd from Middle East to our country. One of my favorite restaurant Al Amar that we previously dine in (click here) had now expended to one of a famous landmark in the area with Al Amar Express sited right in front of Fahrenheit88.

al amar

If you drive or walk pass, you cant help but to notice this big black steel dim with red backlight signage infront of the reestaurant.

Usually with the word express, we do expect something smaller from their restaurant, yet this certainly surprise us by having the whole big lot more like a restaurant.

A few areas can be seated which is this section is at the back of the restaurant filled with comfy sofa’s and main purpose is more on Shisha.

Then they have their crew located in their open concept kitchen where you can see their hygiene.

The difference between their main restaurant and Al-Amar Express is the menu that here focus more on light food and finger food.  . . .

Till now I have seen many bloggers blog about Taiwan, how nice to travel there and not to miss especially their food, I have just came back from that country too. One thing that I have learn is that, the taste of Taiwanese food is quite mild compare to our Malaysia local taste but one of the restaurant that I find it quite similar to Taiwan taste is this restaurant New Farmosa Restaurant which is located at the back main road of SS2, which I would say opposite ESSO petrol station.

A restaurant which is normally decorated with red table cloth and yellow light.

In the menu, you will be suprise and pampered by a wide selection of food available and I am impress.

farmosa (4)

Usually a new restaurant to me, what I would order is more on their signature dish or chef recommendation or the recommendation of that captain but what we have got on that day is all pre arrange. Just sit back and be prepared to be showered with lottttsssss of food.

farmosa (5)

One of their signature drink is which I lurrrveeeee it alot Sour Plum Juice, something which is very refreshing, sour level till my jaw is a bit lose yet not that sweet, just as I like it but some of them do not like it.  Homemade Herbal Tea is one on the front.

You might seen this person appearing in alot of blogs and definately must ask have her to be in my blog too.. hehehe.. This is Ester and her side kick. . .

I have always been to and pass by Hartamas, neither did I know that actually on the other side, hidden another shopping mall which is Hartamas Shopping Complex which I find it kinda cool place to be for the very first time, whole stretch of shop rows that filled with F&B, some souvenir shops, and many others and if add on some exclusive brand there, it would be like street shopping at Melbourne.

The reason me being there was, Richard had extended an invitation to us to dine at Bagel n Coffee Station in that area.

I have no idea what Bagel is about until the boss explain to us that it is actually another type of bread that shape into ring(very similar like donut) boil in water then baked that will comes out with chewy, dense and crispy. There are a few types of it and the classic one are with poppy and sesame seeds. It is popular at Europe, US but not in Malaysia.

Bagel n Coffee

Bagel n Coffee (2)

A simple classic western café decoration and appearance that make it simple and nice which you can always see in the movie as I like this kind of designs.

Bagel n Coffee (3)

As we were seated and the friendly owner greeted us and explain to us how this shop been set up and the concept of it and got to know that this brand is origin from Germany as the owner travel quite often between Malaysia and Germany so then he took the franchise and open it here.

Bagel n Coffee (4)

Another classic menu that makes me recall back my working time in a cafe when I was in Melbourne.

Bagel n Coffee (5)

Offers variety of bagel in different dressing. If you guys are coffee lovers, please do not miss their coffee which is blend with imported beans and the way that they blend the aroma out of it, its truly get the taste of the finniest coffee, of course I mean is better than Starbucks and Coffee Bean in my own taste.

Bagel n Coffee (7)

‘Cafe Latte (R)RM8.70 With smooth foam yet brew to perfection with the froth at the right temperature and right blend had pour on top of it. Its something I could not resist.

Bagel n Coffee (8)

‘Voreo Cream Shake’ RM12.50 is what I would assume like Oreo Shake. Was first to serve this and I finish it within minutes. Just cant stop slurping it. Nice taste yet not too sweet the smoothness of the ice is just perfect.

Bagel n Coffee (9)

For those who love coffee extra strong that I would recon ‘Double Espresso’. Brew from Original double shot with hot water compress and pressure thru it, comes the nice creation of aroma in it. RM5.80

Bagel n Coffee (10)

‘Iced Barraquito’ is something new to us. Its like a shot of espresso added on with condense milk at the base and top with creamy foam added with 1 or 2 cubes of ice, had bring the coffee aroma to another level. Something which Ken loves and enjoy alot. RM6

Bagel n Coffee (11)

I was too caffeinated till I forgot to shot another drink which is ‘Ciokaffe’ which is behind this glass of coffee. More like a long black but surely long black with great smooth taste. RM7.90

Bagel n Coffee (12)

Then next head on with our order of Bagel. That the bagel is slice into half and as the based support, cabbage, lettuce, onions, green pepper then top with the selection of your chioce and cover the top with another half of the bagel.

Bagel n Coffee (16)

Bagel n Coffee (13)

Which first serving is ‘Chicken Bagel’ by the look of it, me and Ken look down upon this bagel that wonder how would it filled our stomach but bagel had proof our assumption wrong! A whole slice of bagel is enough to make us full. RM11.50

Chewy texture yet with the special seed top as into baked had make the bagel unique in taste and with the ingrediant, sauces and salad added in. Its perfect!

Bagel n Coffee (14)

Then we head to our ‘Roast Beef Bagel’. Beef was roasted perfectly yet preserving the softness of the beef that did not overcook yet the aroma of the beef slices had combines well with the bagel and dressing. RM14.60

Bagel n Coffee (15)

Next the owner introduce us to try out ‘Sesame Bagel’ and tag with ‘Classic New York Lox’. Among the list so far, this would be the far best and personally highly recommended. The freshness of salmon that had a cream cheese spread on the bread added on with some dressing that combine is truely delightful. RM14.60

Bagel n Coffee (17)

We order another one that caught our attention which is ‘Quater Pounder Cheese with plain Bagel’ . The name and the look of it had made us impress and the taste of it, its delicious too. Medium well beef with salad with a slice of cheese is just more high class of Ramlee burger version. RM11.50

Bagel n Coffee (18)

Being the place orignate from Germany we would not miss the opportunity to try out their ‘Beef Krakauer, Chicken Garlic, Chicken Jalapeno’. Chewy and juicy texture that bath with their home made sauce had just end our meal with satisfaction and the boss gives us more coffee. RM7.90 each.

Bagel with coffee is truely great combination. Surely we will return to the shop for anothe round. Thanks to the owner for giving us a warm hospitality n Richard too.
