Green Room is another event that is being held yearly, to exhibit a supercharged showcase of music and creative artists. This scene is something new to me as they are more into Indie type of music. On that night, we have New York indie surf-poppers The Drums to Malaysian hipster pin-up Darren Ashley, DJ action from disco and psych-infused electronica experts Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (TEED), Deer Society and Twilight Actiongirl (TAG) that have been line up for the event.

First act kick off with Twilight Actiongirl’s which I thought would be both girls. 😀

Of course we have to grab a few bottles of Heineken to get our mood kicks in.

Next is Darren Ashley as his music is pretty unique, not the first time I have seen it as in Australia its pretty famous for this kind of music.

Guess who makes the crowd went wild, is the New York base, The Drums. Everything is just singing and dancing along.

The rest of the night performer were The Deer Society, , juxtaArt, James Ly, the Off-Day, Kontak!, themancalleduncle and Pecha Kucha, that make Heineken Green Room its own unique event.


Bond movie, I have started watching since young age and being a fan of it it always keeps you thrill on all their series. Attended one of the latest premier, Skyfall which is organise by Heineken is something that I should thank on for the privilege. Heineken is such a premium brand has extended its 15 year partnership with the James Bond franchise

Upon arrival, we register at main counter as we reach early and its pretty impressive that they change the whole area to green signature of Heineken.

as we are early then right after we got our tickets we head into the longe area, of course to have a bottle of Heineken . . 🙂

We all had a great time at the event with Benjamin and the rest of us enjoying our bottle of Heineken before the movie starts.

Well, for this movie, I rate it as a transition of Bond movie that its less action and gadget exposure, and of course in all bond movie you are expecting a sports car, yet for the past few movie is Aston Martin. This round Aston Martin showcase their classic range which is so cool yet being shot to destroy.

Overall of this movie, that make it sit for about 140 mins and I find it pretty draggy and new introduction of whole team, with new Q, Moneypenny, and M. I guess next Bond movie will be impressive with the new young team.

Time really flies as when I received this invite I was a bit shock that it has already been a year that this outlet had been operating and it felt like I had just came here for their Oktoberfest few months back. Along with this big occasion comes with also Soul Out Ampang 1st Anniversary that this brand main branch is actually located in Hartamas (click here).

As both combination, happening at the same time, what can you expect. Of course lots of performance. There are some German traditional dance then slow dancing with the tunes of latest hit and as the performer changing their outfit to dance along one of crowds favorite is Oppa Gangnam Style.

Then we were being introduce to a great local band Mad Sally. We are certainly impress on how good the lead singer voice is. .

Last but not least of course here comes the main moment that cakes being push out and all performer follow by with a huge tower of 1 year old cake being push out.

Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur celebrates the first year anniversary of Mosaic, an all-day dining restaurant with Leica Store Malaysia in a photo campaign entitled ‘What MOSAIC are you?’ starting from 10 September to 10 October 2012, this month-long campaign will be giving out prizes worth up to RM 15,000.

Collaborating with one of the best German engineered camera brand, Leica, the campaign encourages diners and the public to submit creatively-captured photos revolving around the theme Food for Celebration – images of food and/or celebrative moments with friends and loved ones.

During this campaign, each participant is allowed to submit up to a maximum of three (3) images at any time during the campaign. Participants are required to e-mail their submissions to [email protected]  with their full name and title of their photo(s). These photos will then be shortlisted by Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur and Leica Camera. Selected entries will be posted onto the hotel’s Facebook fanpage (www.facebook.com/MandarinOrientalKualaLumpur) in an album ‘A Mosaic of Food for Celebration’.

At the end of the campaign, the Top 10 winners will be announced in Facebook as well as notified via email. Prizes include a Leica V Lux 3 camera, accommodation stays in Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur and much more. Following the end of the campaign, a collage consisting of all selected photos will be tabulated and posted as the hotel’s Facebook fanpage cover photo.

It is a different approach to the conventional way of celebrating anniversaries. Throughout the campaign, a printed ‘MOSAIC’ collage will be displayed at the hotel lobby adjacent to the restaurant to create awareness and encourage participation. Diners at Mosaic will be extended a complimentary ‘Leica camera experience’ courtesy of Leica Store Malaysia. During the session, Leica’s professional photographers will be on site to share the tips and tricks for the ultimate Leica experience. Sessions are available on every Thursdays and Sundays throughout the campaign duration from 12pm to 2.30pm.
