Do tell me who is not a fan of Bak Kut Teh? I am a big fan of Bak Kut Teh, just that whenever people mention this, where is the best, first location always pop out in people’s mind is Klang Lahhhhh, but Klang you want to hunt for good 1, always have to be in early morning. . .what bout if you crave for Bak Kut teh then its at night? One of the places that also with the word Klang, is Old Klang Road, and when you mention Bak Kut Teh, alot people first’s response is ‘Under the bridge 1 ah’? Well, what can I say, Murphy and his cousin bring me to this famous Ah Wang Bak Kut Teh shop at Old Klang Road where most of the time its always filled with lots of people especially during dinner. Here is not only famous for Bak Kut Teh as they are very well known for their signature Steam Fish . . . . .

For side dishes, its always ‘Tu Ka Chor’ (Pigs Trotter Vinegar) is one of the additional that I would order. For this stall, its highly recommended by me as I don always like the texture of it, as for this stall, it was nicely steamed till it was very soft and one bite of the fats into the mouth it nearly melts on tongue, with its thick aromatci sauce cook with a bit of herbs and their very own style is one of the bowl that I finish it by myself. The thick sauce goes very well with rice!

This stall Bak Kut Teh served very mild taste of herbs that most of the people in KL would prefer and add on with some spare parts.

This is what people meant that Bak Kut Ten Under the bridge which is located directly below. . . This direction is from Old Klang Road heading to Mid Valley as the stall would be on your left.

This stall nothing to boast about just that they had made their name and very famous among all the neighbourhood and if you do come here, their Tu Kar Chor is not to be missed! Will try on the steam fish next round .. . .

Two of the special edition drinks in this menu are Yellow Submarine (front glass) with a combination of smooth tasting ice cream soda and tantalizing citrus of like juice is very refreshing for me that makes it my favourite.

Cranberry-O, combining ice-cream soda, cranberry juice and hits of orange juice for a more familiar welcoming taste that both are priced at RM12.90 each.

Roma’s Sampler, comes along with Onion loaf, Potato skin and Boneless Buffalo bites. The best in the range is the potato skin that filled with cheeze and bacon.

The choice for the night is Beef Short Ribs, that served with 2 big rack with thick in meat not only with the size of the bone. It is actually taken from the front part of the cow then cook cooked to maintain the tenderness and softness of the meat. When put into my mouth, it just feels like it melts. RM58.90

If this is the first time visiting Tony Roma’s and would love to try all flavor of the ribs, then Beef Ribs Sampler is the option to go for that 4 different ribs are cook in 4 different flavors to entice your taste bud.  RM 60.90

For this festive season, and dishes are meant to share, ‘Beef for 10’ @ RM99.90 are the perfect dish to order that the whole plate are filled with ribs, served along with 2 side dishes of your choice. I always wonder, could anyone finish this plate by themselves? hmmm. . . .

During my trip to Taiwan, I met a lovely pair of couple, Nono and Jennifer that I find out they loves food too which is good, then only towards end of the trip realize that his mom actually sell Curry Fish Head nearby my house at Penang, happens to be I was at Penang for a day and drop by at the coffee shop Restaurant Satu Dua Lapan Lapan which is situated at Paya Terubong nearby Permata Sports Complex. Besides the Curry Fish head, there are many other food which is available at the coffeeshop that worth to try and do not put high expecation.

By the name of the stall itself ‘Curry Fish Head’ is a must order which is their signature. According to Nono, the fish were bought daily and choose by his mom to bring back therefore, freshness is ensure.

When the curry fish head is served, I just cant wait to taste it, with the look itself already temp most of us, flaming red color curry, fresh big fish head cook along with it. I love the curry taste, a bit spicy, sour at the end of the tongue and a bit thick in curry with the fish head steam perfectly and cook along, just as I prefer it to be. Definitely this is recommended!

Besides the main dish, his mom is equip with some excellent Nyonya cooking skills too, that cook some side dishes for the day differently to go along with the curry fish head, what we have today, you might not get it the same menu tomorrow, might be repeating the following week or other combination as that is not her main focus.

A simple ‘Fried Vegetable’ that been cook to aromatic and preserving freshness of the vegetable. I finish half of the plate.

‘Fried Chicken’ fried to crisps on the edge and soft on the inside. Dip it with chili sauce is good.

‘Tau Yew Bak (hokkien)- Braised Pork in Soy Sauce’ consider one of the best dish you would not want to miss if you find the right stall. Pork leg and meat had been steam quite some time and I just prefer it to be longer a bit so the skin and meat is softer, after all, curry mix with tau yew, and taste good!

If you have strong taste bud, then you would not want to miss this, ‘Asam Prawn’ fried in a hot wok, with a few asam cook along that makes it very a bit strong in taste but after you peel off the skin of it and eat along with rice, its flavorful~ Recommended

With a stall like that, to cook a nice food is something that I look forward and it was a great dinner organize by Nono and with total damage of RM47 for 4 pax, its definitely a great value. Definitely I will be going back for more especially the curry fish head and only at that time I realize that KL have not much nice Curry fish head compare to Penang.
