With how many restaurant owners have taken advantage of the awarded pre-war town house renovate it into a classic and cozy dining place. Most of these restaurants are not big but pretty much small and cater for your needs. Soul Kitchen Trattoria  menu surely would not be extensive yet is simple cooking to make it a comfy dining experience.

On my last trip to Penang, after a full day of street photography, its time for us to head to this classic Italian restaurant Soul Kitchen Trattoria being operate by lovely and very friendly German – Malaysian couple. The place is certainly not huge with our booking of 12 pax, we manage to book the whole indoor area.

[No Longer In Operation]

soul kitchen (1)_resize

If you do pass on this street you will surely notice on this small green pre-war building which is just located 50m directly accross of Cititel junction.

soul kitchen (3)_resize

I just love the whole ambience of the whole restaurant that decorate with, and Jason trying to be the model for the place.

soul kitchen (4)_resize

The wall look a bit torn down with a simple white paint and a big logo is painted on it with 2 electric candle light place upon on the wall.

soul kitchen (5)_resize

No much fancy decoration on it as they have used simple and reusable items to decorate the whole place, wooden crates, used luggage, old radio being placed on the stair case.

soul kitchen (6)_resize

Postcards from other countries a being decorated along on the side walls next to the kitchen.

soul kitchen (7)_resize

They do not have specific menu with most of their food menu are written in two big wooden blackboard on the wall besides that, a small piece of board are place on the floor with their daily specials. When we saw the menu, I told Ken like, I think we are going to order 80% of what is on the menu.

soul kitchen (8)_resize

What I have been told that the menu do change from 2-3 months once by remaining the best sellers.

soul kitchen (9)_resize

As I mention the restaurant is not big, we operate the whole indoor area and it is highly recommended you make a reservation before you coming to this place. As for the night, it was fully booked. there are alot of walk in customer and they turn away dissapointed.

soul kitchen (10)_resize

Beverate wise they do not serve wine, surely you can bring your own wine as long as you order food from the restaurant.

soul kitchen (11)_resize

This 2 girls sure impress the rest of the photographer that not many girls are willing to follow and walk whole day for street photography as they just tag along without complains.

soul kitchen (12)_resize

Bernice is just too hungry till she is hoping there is food place on the table now.
