In Penang, there are a few places bustling with alot of good restaurants that one particular place had attracted many people to visit with their seafront retailing concept which is Straits Quay. I have tried on a few restaurants available and Oh Sushi Japanese Restaurant is one of the latest restaurant that me and my friends went to hunt as they suggested its a great place and he know the chef. Of course I say YES!

Oh Sushi (1)

When I arrived, the interior and the name Oh Sushi Japanese Restaurant sounds pretty familiar only realise that I saw this brand in Mid Valley before and now they have expand it to Penang market that start operation since May 2011 . .

Oh Sushi (2)

Its fully pack on that weekend I went and its like 70% are reserved! Guess that they are pretty well known to Penangnites.

In their menu they have quite a huge range of roll, sashimi and many more to choose from. Price are pretty decent

Oh Sushi (6)

These are all the hungry people that before the picture taken they were already arouse by the smell of the food therefore they attach without waiting for me this round.

Oh Sushi (7)

Start off with some snacks to chew on while waiting for the rest to arrive. Koebi Kaarage @ RM 8 simple fried small shrimps that shower with some salt and nice to munch when it is served hot, crispy and crunchy.

Oh Sushi (18)

Then Tatt say their sashimi is a must order cuz its fresh so we hit on Salmon Oyako @ RM 38. With a few big slabs of salmon and by looking at the orange colour shows its a good sign of freshness and no doubt it is!

Oh Sushi (11)

Volcano Roll @ RM 36 find that its a bit over price with the portion they are charging as I have tried a very good one before with this price. Its too much mayo that not well burn overall its not bad la~

Oh Sushi (13)

Prawns been fried fresh and wrap eat along. While dipping with wasabi and first bite can taste that the prawn meat is still hot. King Prawn Roll @ RM 22

Oh Sushi (17)

SPicy Soft Shell Roll  @ RM 25

Oh Sushi (8)

Sanma Mentai Yaki @ RM 17.50

Oh Sushi (9)

Garlic Fried Rice been fried to fragrant, a bit dry to my linkings and every one just enjoy this. @ RM 13.50

Oh Sushi (10)

The star of the night is Wagyu Saikoro that being serve on a super hot stone, as can still hear the siziling sound after being served a while. The meat is so tender yet juicy and moist. The fats being served along is just perfect and aromatic with their special sauce.

@ RM 56 – Recommended

Oh Sushi (12)

Agedashi Tofu @ RM16

Oh Sushi (14)

Beef slices for our Sukiyaki . .:D

Oh Sushi (15)

Sukiyaki @ RM 48

Oh Sushi (16)

What you do is just take this thin slice of beef and dip it in for a while then you can enjoy eating it fresh! Sukiyaki pot soup is pretty good with a bit salty at the end taste and just cant drink much type as it will be too salty at the end. pretty good~

Oh Sushi (19)

So this is all of us and looking back at my picture, I look like I have gain so much weight back then . .heheh

Overall, the food in Oh Sushi Japanese Restaurant is pretty good yet I still prefer Sushi Tei (available now at Gurney Plaza), my all time favourite~ if you compare this kind of chain together.

I did read a few people blog about this place before and I have forgotten on it until my friend brought me there to eat. This mini hawker that makes its mark on its own with the neighborhood is located at the edge of Cao Cao Lamb BBQ Kuchai Lama and Old Klang road that operates from 7pm to finish.

Many stalls to go after as most of them have their own business.

cau (2)

If you are in this hawker center, one of the food that you MUST NOT miss which is the Cao Cao BBQ Lamb. A Family business that operates along with grandmother and son taking care of the business and you can expect to wait long enough of you go during dinner time.

Most people say them are quite lansi but what I get to know from other people saying that they just do for pass time and for fun.

cau (4)

Few slabs of lamb being placed on the hot charcoal bbq pit, grilling it slowly after long marination process.

cau (7)

Every time I go there, I would just eat 2 pieces myself as 1 piece cost RM9, it can be a bit pricy but the quality and taste is there. Grilled to perfection with bbq lining is visible on the meat, its soft and juicy, very aromatic of the lamb and marination taste. Recommended!

cau (5)

I also order Prawn Mee as the soup base colour do looks good. RM5

cau (11)

In KL not many places you can find not bad Prawn Mee with the taste of the soup have strong flavour of prawn shells. Soup base which is quite simliar to Penang, add on chili and its a bit spicy that comes to my liking. No complain on this.

cau (6)

When I walked pass Fried Koey Teow, the smell of it definately makes me want to order! RM5

cau (10)

Then came out of the look not bad, but the taste is abit dry and tasteless. We add in soy sauce to bring up a bit taste of it.

cau (9)

Roasted Chicken Wings, is very common nothing to brag about.

Overall, what I feel is the lamb and prawn mee is good to order, and the rest definately will be back to try more. I also have been told by my friend next to this mini hawker center, the Cantonese Stall offers variety of fried stuff and its pretty good. I’ll definately be back~
