Senya Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato

The Eight Avenue Bar & Restaurant is one of the latest edition to Publika family. Its just only about a few weeks old and since the first visit, it had been one of my hang out spot in the area. Find the staff are very warm and they have created a friendly warm feelings in this outlet

8th avenue (1)

8th avenue (2)

Do check out their promo as they do have pretty cool promo running before 9pm including happy hour beers.

8th avenue (3)

Apparently, I believe the guy that came to our table is the owner introduce us, their cocktail is pretty good too. That I shall save it for my next visit when I am coming for happy hour.

8th avenue (4)

To those of you who love pork, their menu offering is rather interesting, that most of the descriptions sounds good.

8th avenue (5)

8th avenue (6)

First order came Sticky PigRM 19.90 serves pork ribs stewed, and then grilled to perfection with toppings of caramelized apple and sticky sauce. I am not a fan of coriander, yet they cleverly infuse it with their own dressing and the taste is well pair up with sticky pig. Little sourish, and sweet end.

8th avenue (7)

Next which is one of their signature on this nicely presented plate which is Angles and Demons @ RM 14.90, smoked salmon wrapped in juicy cantaloupe and bacon wrapped prunes. This is my first time having prunes top with bacon, taste is pretty unique to me and follow with a bite of smoke salmon to give it a juicy sweet fruity end. White wine would be ideal for this pairing.

8th avenue (8)

Another dish which do look ordinary which is Pulled Pork Tacos @ RM 29.90. For a pretty serving of homemade version and price is rather steep for 4 pieces of pork tacos, but its a comfort food that have a great balance of taste.

8th avenue (9)

When during our order, the owner insisted that we try on their house signature or his personal recommendation Cauliflower Manchurian @ RM 11.90 battered dipped plants with Manchurian sauce. Upon serving, it does smells good and it sure do look like fried chicken skin instead of cauliflower. After the first bite, it leads the plate gone within the next 60 seconds and we were in the midst of ordering another plate. Sticky, aromatic sweet sour end sure do give a good lift with beer.

8th avenue (10)

In the description in the menu, it sure do sound superb, when it was presented, the look of it is quite a let down. After slicing the pork and try it out with creamy mushroom is a bomb. The outstanding mushroom sauce give the creaminess taste that its needed with a little crunch of the greens and pork was cook to perfection.  Pork ScallopiniRM 28.90

8th avenue (11)

Usually when it comes to pasta range, I would often end up with carbonara range, as this round it was a fair share of ordering, Zucchini Pasta Doppelganger was chosen for its healthy description. @ RM 24.90. Tossed in basil pesto Portobello mushrooms and sundried tomato that makes me feel is very comfortable home cooking. Pretty strong in pesto sauce and sun dried tomato give the sourness taste of it, there are more greens than the pasta.

8th avenue (12)

8th avenue (13)

Among all the presentation, this sure impress us the most. Beautifully platted which is Sunny Salmon @ RM 24.90. It looks inviting on its mix greens on the side.

8th avenue (14)

For such a meal, dessert is a must as we look through the menu, Angela’s Passion @ RM 17.20 capture our attention. It is pretty and looks flavorful, however many elements of flavors could not be tasted.

Its a nice bar and restaurant if you are looking for comfort food with a unique twist in it. Worth giving it a try as I will be coming back to try a few other items.

The Eight Avenue Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato

Tug in a very hidden corner inside of Sapura Kencana Petroleum building in the area of Publika, you will find this little fine dine restaurant, Millesime. I have heard friends mention about this restaurant last year, as they serve excellent food that is a little pricey but worth the spending.

Update 1/1/2017]: NO Longer in Operation

millesme (1)

I do believe some of you are like me, eat till do not know what to eat for the day or next meal. One special style about this restaurant is that they do not have a proper menu for you to choose from, mostly will be the best set of the day as both of the chef uses or sources best ingredient of the day then come out with the menu in the morning itself. Therefore, if you dine daily here, you will have different types of food being serve.

Or if you feel being adventurous, just sit down and let the chef enlighten you with their specialty.

millesme (2)

millesme (3)

Ambiance of the restaurant with their hidden corner of the building, that gives us alot of privacy, not to mention service here is excellent as the floor manager really do know their stuff.

millesme (4)

millesme (5)

millesme (6)

The restaurant also just recently won an awards.

millesme (7)

millesme (8)

Its a huge open concept restaurant that they  have and you can look at the chef cook right infront of them at viewing area.

millesme (9)

Left menu will be set of the day and the right menu which they have recently came up are ala – cart menu for the week.

millesme (10)

As we were seated, we are serve along with toast of the day that made fresh daily and serve along with seaweed butter, that is one of the chef signature.

millesme (11)

When the manager put this few slices of bread on the table, it smells so good that we have to get a slice of it. Love grew towards the bread when we spread the seaweed butter along. Strong taste of seaweed with mild butter end, as eat more and we tend to spread the butter ticker till we ask for another round of butter, till Ken and me just cut half of the butter slice, and just eat it.

millesme (12)

After stuff myself for 5 slices of bread, next serve along is Amuse Bouche serve with a cut of shitake mushroom wrap with a slice of slice of smoked duck is bursting with flavour in my mouth follow by and  mashed roasted aubergines got top with feta cheese.

millesme (13)

Some of them commented, this is one of a beautiful presented dish that its so hard for them to start eating is Gravlax of Snapper and Salmon with Mizuno Leaves and Shaddock Nuggets @ RM32. Hard work had been putting in to prepare thsi dish, as been marinated with sugar, salt, lemon rind and dill for 4 days.  Then little round of salmon are place on the side, then shower with a golden-hued tangy citrus vinaigrette, Manukka honey and mustard.

millesme (14)

This is no ordinary tomato soup, as Smoked Herring and Oregano Oil are poured into Rustic Tomato Soup.

millesme (15)

Soup is creamy and slightly thick, as smoked carrots and leek were blend along. The taste is perfect when mixed with the smoked herring as it add the kick onto the taste. . I am definitely recommending this soup, as its unique in its kind.  @ RM23

millesme (16)

Squid Ink Linguine with Calamari, Chilli and Pesto in Olio @ RM45

millesme (17)

As the pasta is cook slightly moist, and with the perfection of al dante in spaghetti . Squid were fresh as its chewy, cook along with cherry tomato.

millesme (18)

Before our mains, we next have our Palate CleanserStrawberry Sherbet

millesme (19)

This dish will definitely be top in my list as Slow Braised Wagyu Beef Short Ribs with Polenta and Mushroom Ragout @ RM58  by the side.  Chef Patrick explained that the short ribs been braised for 6 hours with red wine and the taste of the sauce is extremely good, aromatic and strong in taste that the wagyu beef need not knife to cut it, a gentle touch is good enough to separate it. I enjoy every bite of it by slowly munching.

millesme (20)

Comes to dessert – Valrhona Dark Chocolate Souffle served with vanilla ice-cream.

millesme (21)

Chocolate Souffle is fluffy soft .. .

millesme (22)

millesme (23)

The superman behind the kitchen is Chef Patrick Keith

If you are looking at good dining experience, surely this is one of the place to recommend, needless to say for special occasions. If you do have time to spare on Wednesday, its their wine Lunch and in the hurry with your client, they have  3-course Set Lunches at RM60++ per person.

**special thanks to Derek for all the pictures along with Henry and Issac.

Just barely a few weeks old and this place already got a massive publicity. One of the reason is they are the first Ramen restaurant that serve Authentic Kyushu Ramen in Malaysia, as actually means Tonkatsu that boil their soup with pork bone. There are already quite a number of Ramen shop popping up and as a Ramen lover and have tasted very nice ramen overseas, hope this Yamagoya Ramen will fare pretty good too . .

Yamagoya (1)

Not only that, what makes them special as they are also the first outlet of the famous Japanese Chain Ramen Restaurant as they have more than 140 outlets in Japan and this shop had landed in Malaysia as currently operating in Publika, Solaris Dutamas would be their very first outlet.

Yamagoya (2)

As I saw on the wall and people coming into this shop and dine with Chinese Newspaper cutting as I believe some chinese food writter had came by to feature on it and we came in as early as 7.30pm and its full till we left 10.00pm and there are still people coming in.

Yamagoya (3)

Yamagoya (4)

Their ramen is made fresh daily and they weigh the ramen accordingly on the machine to ensure that all are even.

Steal this picture from Eunice – Greentredbean

Yamagoya (5)

Yamagoya (6)

Here you go, with some choices of the ramen available as this shop purely serve ramen .. .

Yamagoya (7)

This is one of my favourite drink that I often used to drink it as my lunch drink when I was studying overseas that time. Its Calpis WaterRM5.80.

It is a uncarbonated soft drink as the beverage has a light, somewhat milky, and slightly acidic flavor, similar to plain or vanilla-flavored yogurt or Yakult. Its ingredients include water, nonfat dry milk and lactic acid, and is produced by lactic acid fermentation.

The drink is sold as a concentrate which is mixed with water or sometimes milk just before consumption. A pre-diluted version known as Calpis Water “Karupisu Wōtā” (カルピスウォーター?), or its carbonated variety, known as Calpis Soda “Karupisu Sōda” (カルピスソーダ?), are also available. It is also used to flavor kakigori (shaved ice) and as a mixer for cocktails and chuhai. (Source from Wikipedia)

Yamagoya (8)

AS a ramen shop, these few sauces its  a must have to make it complete, as I usually like to add in alot of chili oil . .:D

Yamagoya (9)

As a starter, I rarely miss this order Gyoza @ RM 11. If the gyoza is pan fried a bit longer at the bottom till the skin is crips, it can be one of the best so far I have come accross. . .

Yamagoya (10)

This might look like one of ordinary Fried Chicken as the taste is just amazing. Squeeze it with lemon to get a hint of sour taste and dip with Japanese Mayo and the soy sauce at the bottom makes it perfect in taste as the skin is crispy and the chicken meat being fried just perfect as the meat is not too dry. Guess what, our table ended up ordering 3 plates of this. RM11 – highly Recommended!

Yamagoya (12)

One of my favorite is to get eggs in my ramen as this is Yamagoya Braised Soya Sauce Egg. If the yolk is not so cook it would be a perfect pair, still good in taste, no complain . [email protected] RM4

Yamagoya (13)

When comes to pork, we will never complain more which less is just only the factor. So we ordered additional 2 plates of Pork Char Siu as this side dish is serve cold compare to the one added into the Ramen. Different in taste though as I prefer mine to be dip into the [email protected] RM11

Yamagoya (11)

If you love garlic taste then this shall be one of the ramen you should hunt for – Black Garlic Ramen @ RM22. Garlic taste is pretty strong in the sweet soup base as just how I like it. – recommended~

Yamagoya (14)

Menma Ramen @  RM22

Yamagoya (15)

Mukashi Special Ramen is a bit mild in taste, with the broth soup that they add in just suits many people taste bud. How I make it more interesting is by adding alot of chili oil then it adds in the kick for me. 😀  RM24

Yamagoya (16)

Fuhhh, one of the super star on our table is this Char Siu Ramen. The strong sweet taste of soup base makes us fight for this bowl of Ramen filled with thin slice of Char Siu. I just love this bowl of soup base.  @ RM24, highly Recommended!

Yamagoya (17)

Another one of my favourite is Spicy Tobanjan Ramen @ RM 22

Yamagoya (18)

Well, do not expect the spicyness level is the Malaysian version as remember its authentic from Japan and Japanese taste bud on spicy level is very much different compare to our local palate. After put it in, it taste pretty good and by one scoop of spicy paste you might find it not too kick, why not add in another paste that would have been perfect. (beware that you might spoil the authentic taste of it if you add in 2 paste).

By having one paste it just make the soup a bit spicy and aromatic.  – Recommended~

Yamagoya (20)

A bit of infuse ramen which is Kimchi Ramen, a more korean taste. @ RM22

Yamagoya (21)

There are only 4 of us in the table and look at the amount of Ramen we whack! Its just something I could not resist as this shop have currently top in my list if I am craving for Ramen because of its ramen texture and soup base. Well, if I have to compare to the one I have overseas still cannot be compared and talking bout local, this would be one of the best so far. Would be a highly recommended shop by me. or currently one of the best ramen shop in KL.

REMARKS: please eat the noodle what its serve hot, as the noodle is springy and smooth.. If you leave it a while or more than 5 minutes soak in the soup, the noodle texture had change and become soggy.

To me, one of the place that I used to hang out often is Solaris KL and recently I discover a new place drink and dine or would be another new area of F&B at Mont Kiara Area is this Solaris Dutamas. The place is 90% complete and there are quite handful of F&B already operating in the area. On the Table

on the table (1)

Then my friend tag me along to this restaurant On The Table as she said, the chef served good food, when there are nice food to go for, how could I resist as only to give in.

on the table (2)

on the table (5)

Its a very simple casual dining place which . . . .

on the table (3)

with contemporary ambiance and sofa seating . .

on the table (4)

on the table (8)

on the table (6)

they also have open concept kitchen where to show how they chef work and the cleanliness of their place.

on the table (7)

i love this section where all the dish come out from the kitchen to be served to the customer that have 2 gigantic spoon and fork . .

on the table (9)

At the far end which is the private area, that one good concept that I love about this restaurant is ‘On The Table’ that allows us to order something off the menu and try to give us experience variety of cuisine available in the world to be available on the table, just that have to make booking and let the chef know that you will like to dine something off from their menu. They have great combination of a few chef with different expertise in different cuisine that trying to fulfill customers satisfaction as much as possible. You can even asked them what is the fresh ingredient you got for the day and ask them to cook along that line or they will play around with the fresh ingredient and come out something special for you.

Then we were caught by surprise when we were told that the person lead by  Executive Chef Riz Redz that have vast experience in Italian cuisine at oversea for more than 10 years and also son of our very own local celebrity Chef ‘Chef Wan’
