At first when I saw this instragmmer posting about this place and saw the beef patty, I must immediately plan to swing by to this place. Shimokita Space in SS15 is actually a clothes bundle shop cum burger joint that been operating about a year ish. best cafe in ss15It is not hard to find this place as those of you that are familiar with Subang Square, you can park right there and walk over. Locate the famous SS 15 Rojak shop, and it is directly across the street on that row of shophouse.

japanese burger in subang

you will not miss out the place as you climb up the stairs as you will be rape with strong grill smell. If it does not happen means the pit is not burning yet. You will be greeted with those kind of 90’s J-pop songs era then that is indeed correct.

You can turn left or rigth from the entrance from their Japanese Subway signage.

Right to Japanese clothes shop and left to dining area.

They have very straight forward menu. My favourite is Classic Beef Burger Smasburger and for single starts from RM8. Just amazing price.

Those of you cant take beef then you can opt for their Shimokita Spicy Chicken Burger from RM 14. Which is also a pretty good choice.

japanese shop in subangCreamy ButterBeer @ RM 14 is their signature and crowds favourite. Give it a try. It is not a beer but just their naming.

IMG-20230208-WA0034This is their all time crowds favourite or best seller Classic Beef Burger Smasburger @ RM 8. For this price, I have to all hands down on deck for them. One of the best cheap burger in PJ that I have come across only if their beef patty is made by themselves. Cheese is well coated onto the burger and the bun is gril to perfection. Slightly toasted and some burnt edges inside the bun.

best burger ss15

One bite just blew your palate away. A great mixture of saltiness from the cheese, nice season beef patty, umami special caramelize onion sauce and the hint of buttery just flows in. its really good.

Next wanted to try another version is their Shimokita Cheese Burger @ RM 10. this is slightly more jucier with the sauce that they have drench on, abit more helty with some greens and tomato and with its unique hidden taste is with jalapeno.

Some adventure with your palate then this is the one to go after. I still love their signature classic.

this is the doggy door for you to walk in. I am certainly going to come back to try their classic triple patty.

It was before MCO I went to check out this cafe in ss15. The Toast House 多士號 at Subang SS15 was pretty hit before then. An white mosaic interior that gives  minimalist feel. Making them a  place which is pretty instagramable.

Toast house x Kuala Lumpur is located the same stretch as the famous pork noodle or can say a few doors away.

Since were here for a quick breakfast decided to try out the charcoal grill jumbo series with : Jumbo Bacon and Hashbrown sandwich with Cheese @ RM 15 – pork bacon, hasbrown, cheese, egg, cabbage, tomato slice

sandwich

The sandwich itself is pretty big, is more like a double toast x 3, so it is more like a sandwich stack for me.

the toast house (5)

Crispy inside out and their own sauce is not bad.

the toast house (6)

since the word Special Royal Coffee (Hot) at RM 5 do attract me to try. Well, I guess kopitiam version is better. Not to my liking. you guys can give it a try.

the toast house

Then try out Taiwanese Pancake , Bacon Pancake @ RM 8. It is not too bad on the flat bread, slightly chewy to my liking and I guess worth to give it a shot.

Was heading to Subang to enjoy my favourite Burger and reached right in front of their outlet only realise that they closed on Monday. Walk around quite a while and had decided to eat Twins Dakgalbi which is one of my favourite home cook method till I stumble this huge awesome Korean decor which is a new outlet, OUTDark, SS15.

OutDark (2)

Then we make a U turn and decided to try this place out. Apparently, OUTDARK is a famous Korean brand at Busan that now spreading its wings around ASIA pacific and they have landed at SS15 as their first outlet in Malaysia.

OutDark (3)

In the outlet it is pretty dim, and definately love the ambiance as it is so KOREAN! Love locks all locking in their some of their panels

OutDark (4)

Also known that on Monday night they are fully book? this is rather interesting.

OutDark (5)

OutDark (6)

OutDark (7)

This is one of their signature dish – Cheese Kingdom @ RM 79 – with their special sauce base, generous amount of cheese, fried chicken , toppoki, kimchi side and mini rice.

OutDark (10)

I can only say for this concept, they are currently one of the best that I have come across in KL. Definately top in my list at the moment as I love the special sweet spicy sauce, yet chicken fried to perfection along with toppoki is perfect. chewy yet not too hard to my liking.

Will definitely come back again to try out their other item.

OWL Espresso Cafe is one of the famous bingsu cafe in SS15. After operating in this area for 2 years, they still remain as one of the top hangout place for students when it comes to Korean dessert. To be honest, this is my first time here after hearing so much good reviews about them and decided to drop by.

Mango Cheese Bingsu @ RM 23 (regular) cheesecake, crunch powder, fresh mango – mango ice cream. I have better ones before and this is pretty steep in pricing for such a bingsu. My favourite for this still Beans and Beans.

The Owl Cafe (8)

Their signature is Injeolmi Bingsu which is the Korean version of rice cake made from glutinuous rice, and peanut powder. . Other toppings include Azuki bean paste, chopped pistachios and almonds – all of them are considered premium quality ingredients. This bingsu @ RM15. Like their classic series as the flavour of peanut powder is strong and fragrant.

Twins Dakgalbi (8)

Twins Dakgalbi (9)

Our usual order will always have Kim Chi Jigae, Gae Ran Jim  @ RM 10 – steam egg

Twins Dakgalbi (10)

follow by an appetizer soup to drink on before the meal.

Twins Dakgalbi (11)

You are provided with an mini apron to prevent from the sizzling hot cooking pan.

Twins Dakgalbi (12)

Our usual when we order or Dakgalbi is must be spicy, add on with cheese and ramyeon.

Twins Dakgalbi (14)

Love the Teok Bok Ki @ RM 15 gravy and how it is cook. Just nice to my liking where it is soft and slight chewy where the gravy is slightly sourish, sweet and spicy.

Twins Dakgalbi (15)

Twins Dakgalbi (16)

Their spicy level is indeed quite spicy. It took us a while to finish it as we ordered 2 chili. Best advise only to start off with 1 chili.

Back in donkey years when I was still studying, (back 13 years ago) Ooi  Noodle House was in our books as one of the best Pork Noodle at SS15 and we were one of the regular in those days. They were operating at one of a corner lot coffee shop opposite Carefour, ss15. Recently drop by again to try out after all these years and their queue still remains crazy, along with average waiting time 45 minutes to 180 minutes for a bowl of pork noodle.

ss15 pork Noodle (4)

One of the reason why the waiting time is so long, where the owner cook it bowl by bowl instead of bulk cooking.

ss15 pork Noodle (5)

That guy waited so stress for his bowl of noodle.

ss15 pork Noodle (6)

Finally my bowl of pippin hot pork noodle is here, always added an egg in it and cost RM 9 per bowl. The smell of the soup and the colour of it does give a umph!
ss15 pork Noodle (7)

Never change over the years as they are still generous with their ingredients. It is filled up with alot of pig spare parts such as, innards, intestine, liver, mince meat and others.

ss15 pork Noodle (8)

ss15 pork Noodle (9)

The secret of a great bowl of pork noodle is their stock soup base. It is sweet, fragrant pork bone&meat taste can be detected.

ss15 pork Noodle (10)

Love it as the taste of the soup have not change much and indeed there is a clear difference of soup base if were to compare to his sister’s shop – Ah Or Pork Noodle at Sunway Mentari. This is still a clear winner.
