There are many restaurants booming out especially on Shabu-Shabu with in my list (click here previous post), still Nagomi stands out compare to others fake shabu-shabu available out there especially on their normal soup base. Whenever I think of Japanese steamboat Nagomi will always pop out in my mind and with their outlet of Jaya 33 being refurbish, of course there will be changes in their menu and now they are moving to more fine casual dining with more ala-cart dish are placed in the menu. With their latest menu in line for this festive season is their Chirstmas dining menu. So do not be suprise like me and some of my friends, with the expression ‘Huh, got such  thing 1 ah? I thought shabu-shabu only?’

[No Longer in Operation]

Nagomi (1)

Their new outlook with more feel of Japanese Garden on the outside.

Nagomi (2)

A private room to host for your family  and friends or some company department gathering.

Nagomi (3)

Outside they have change to more contemporary concept that feels very cosy and don mind staying there for a drink after meal.

Nagomi (5)

Ready to venture into their unique Chirstmas menu prepared by one of a famous Master Chef – Ikuo Tanabe “The Magic Hand”

*till to date as I have been told, he had many apprentice for the past many years and you can see some that he trained are very highly skilled and hire by well known restuarants locally.

When we were down to the bottom of the hill and took a taxi to the ferry terminal and across the sea and again take taxi to reach this place. From the harbour to this place is around 15 mins walk but every 1 is just so tired and very very hungry for food so decided to take taxi.

Finally reach at this restaurant. Eat all you can!!! HKD 78.

When we walked into the restaurant the crowd is only a few tables, it was quite late already, our dinner suppose to be at 9pm but when we reach this restaurant , its already around 11pm. So, its consider our supper not dinner.

The place is rather comfortable, nicely decorated and proper steamboats not like the 1 at Sunway there with RM18 eat all you can steamboat.

We occupied 3 tables there~

The menu of selection which you can just pick and hantam which you think you want to eat. Only the menu on the left dark yellow and in the next page creamy yellow(veggie area). The rest you have to pay~

The captain introduce us the Ox Gatherings which he claims to be very nice, but I do not know what is that then my friends saying that the food there is enough to kill you. No need to order extra~

This is the spicy soup, as both of the soup were ordered by my friends. The color of it surely looks tempting and when it was at boiling point, I was eagerly trying out the taste and it sure taste very nice till I put a bowl for my self and salivate it till to the last drop.

The soup base is sweet with its aroma. Wonder what is the secret ingrediant~Highly Recommended

This is the ‘Pork Leg Soup’ which had been boil very long to get the aroma of it out.  When it was boil to the boiling point and the smell of its very nice soup aroma travels around makes you wanna grab your spoon and had the first taste of it.

The soup base is a highly recommended selection as the soup base is so sweet with the taste of the pork leg and veggie taste in it also. It is perfectly nice for those cant take the spicy 1.

The usual thing that we order for steamboat is of course from left to bottom : Needle mushroom, Tomato and ‘Fu Gua’

From right, top to bottom: taufu and noodle

This is not what our table pick was pass over by another table asking us to try. It’s a must try item.

After putting in and boil for a moment, I took the whole thing and bite, straight away burn my tongue as the juice in it spurt out. It is sweet with corn taste, the skin is so soft like as it is perfect to be eaten at the end of the meal. Of course do not put this inside the spicy soup which will spoil the taste~

The taufu’s

From left: Corn, Squid, Vegie, Cuttlefish, Beef Ball and Fish Dumpling.

One of the best in there is the homemade beef ball. The filling in it is compact and after boil, it is springy and chewy.

From left: Home made fish cake, the corn thingy, beef slices and pig skin.

The best of in here of course the corn as mention above and the best thing in this steamboat which must not miss is the beef slices. We sapu like 10 plate of it for my table. It slices is so thin till are able to dip for a while and eat it. Very nice beef taste and certainly with the fats of it, just perfect. To eat in the spicy soup taste the best! Highly recommended~

After pouring everything into the pot turns out to be like this.

This is for the clear soup. Everyone, please prepare your chopstick and prepare to eat!!!

Warning: This table every is like a dinasour and beware: ‘every 1 is very hungry’. Please do not come here, come at own risk!!

My table that nite were seated with 10 guys and 1 gurl. This people never stop eating for the whole 2 hours. What ever is pour in, it is gone within minutes. Just like people haven eat for 3 days and saw whatever food to fill in the stomach should be good.

To eat steamboat I am happy that I was seated with this dinasaour or cow’s(4 stomach) cuz you get to eat alot of choices and every 1 never complains about eat abit then full.

We kept eating till finishing the whole pot until I forgot that I put in the last order. Came again but every 1 just happily contribute a bit by eating it out..

At the end of the meal, all of us got shock that the gurl in my table had been eating non stop till the end and definately she eat like a dinasour. So much that you cannot imagine a thin like lidi can eat.

This is the end result of the night. SATISFIED!!!!~

By the end of the meal, we were paying around HKD150 which every 1 thought to be HKD78. When we look at the receipt, it is correct. How it calculate out:

Soup base HKD98 each
A bowl of soy sauce HKD10 each
Tea HKD10 each
Other Item……
so total add up around that figure.

The best part is a small plate of soy sauce HKD10. This is how kewl the hongkee doing business.
We came out, the weather is just nice, just cold breeze enough for us to slowly stroll back to our hotel. Take about 15 minutes walk and we seriously need that. Every one’s stomach is so geli, buldging out~
The best part is I thought this is a club and suprise me that I found it is a main entrance of a bank and the posters stick on the main entrace is all the clubbing event for the month.

After lunch at Ketam Village Steamboat before heading back to car, then my friend bought this I so called Pancake. Which they name ‘Kik Kok‘. Don know what is that.

The offering for the pancake is not bad. So the order is ‘Chocolate + Butter + Chocolate Rice’ RM2.50.
This was not my order, just look interesting and took up the pic which I found that the price that we paid is worth for it also as the banana the include it was quite alot Not like some other stalls might be half of the banana or a few slices..Ish~!~
Looks tempting for this 1.
This is our order. Mouth watering when I saw it.
Comes out to be a size of this which is similar to the rest of the pancake stalls out there.
I must say that the 1 that my friend order was it is rich of chocolate taste, with the chocolate rich and the butter taste everything is there. The best thing is it very crispy on the inside out. Like eating Kuih Kapit during CNY and can just listen to you bite that time ‘grak grak grak‘….Ish. thinking back will just go back and grab another one. If for weekend I believe it is gonna be pack of people as we went for weekdays also have to wait for 15 minutes already.

Ah Pak was down for the weekend, and do not know what to eat, head to Taipan for Korean food, then see the menu so little things we decided to cabut, then I suggested Mt Kiara to eat. I thought in LDP turn is Mt. Kiara d, how smart am I. While I was driving I keep thinking where got so near la, then only realise it.SHITT!!! so darn far, clever loh me~ After 40 mins of driving in the very heavy rain whereby have to put emergency signal on, at last reach here still do not know which 1 is nice, just hantam this shop. Bon-Ga

After I walked into this shop I like har, like dat 1 ah, sei!!! No choice la, since come till so far already, so just try lah~

This is the funny thing that I found out in the menu, where all of the food are fully imported and looking into the menu, still the same, not much choice. Most of the dishes are beef and I can’t take beef, so left only 2 options. So sapu that 2 and orders some other dish. Funny thing in this restaurant is they dont serve us Korean tea, ONLY water. hmmmm………

This is their food entree, where the 1 in the red red sauce looks like the Japanese octopus(which is not) but taste very good. The rest, not nice.

Ordered this ‘Korean Pancake’, when it was served, I was like har.. so geli 1 ah, the food. No QC eh. Then when tried on the pancake, aiiii…really true, no QC. Can still taste the flour which is not fully cook, and in the middle part of it which is quite thick and can still taste some of the raw sotong taste. I eat half of the piece and banneeed.

This is the ‘Kim Chi steamboat’. Looks good when were on our table but the taste is like no Kimchi taste and a bit spicy only. Not as good as it looks on the colour. None of us finish the whole thing also.
This is the ‘Pork Belly’.
The person that was helping us out, overcooked the pork belly, so ended up we have to chew it as long as like chewing gum. Ended up the pork also quite dry.
This is the ‘Pork Meat’. The nicest among all the dish that we ordered. They don know marinate with what sauce but do taste good on the pork that grill on it or which I think that the person that help us cook had improve, which he did not over cooked it.
This is the person that had helped us cook it out. Satisfying but the onion cannot go. Tasteless, I think from Korea as mention from the menu.
Overall, I wont revisit this restaurant again, as the food is below average. The bill I had lost it but I still remember the total bill comes to RM125
