According to my friend, he mention that how did the word Imperial Chakri Palace came about was they hire a lady chef from Thailand and she used to work in the Thai Palace Kitchen as a cook and then was brought in my this company to make a royal type cuisine here. That is how the name Chackri Palace Royal Thai Cuisine came about.

Chackri (1)

Not only that, the restaurant had gain its reputation over the years had they had been going strong for more than 10 years with improvise taste and food that had attracted many locals and foreigners back to this restaurant. Consistency is they main key for them to win back many loyal customer, afterall this restaurant serve HALAL Thai Food.

Mieang Kam is one type of traditional food to start off with as appetizer. Serve along with 7 types of ingredient and what you need to do is take a piece of leave follow by spreading the shrimp paste which is a must as its thick and aromatic, then sprinkle with all the ingredient that you like. @ RM19.90

For me, I have added everything the have then roll it and stuff the whole thing in your mouth under one bite. Taste? Just perfect.

Chackri (10)

Chakri Four Seasons @ RM39.90 – Thai fish cake, spring roll, sweet and spicy chicken, mixed fruit salad and crispy prawn

Chackri (7)

Super star in there, is the fish cake as its stuff with spices and the homemade fish patty is just soft nicely fried.

Chackri (8)

Tom Yam Talay is known as one of their signature dish in the restaurant, as the clear version is actually Bangkok style. As always the clear version is lighter in taste and just nice for those who cant really handle spicy soup as its more towards sourish. RM10.50

Chackri (9)

One of the places that I often heard alot which is this Andes BYO Pork Burger that located in Aman Suria, and finally, me and my friend decided to pay a visit as actually we were on the way back from Penang and since its on the way then just drop by. There are alot of bloggers are talking about this place and makes me wonder how good is the pork burger actually.

Well, its not so hard to find it actually which its located the same row as Betty’s Midwest Kitchen/ Kayu Nasi Kandar as its on the other side of it only.

Andes (1)

Ample of parking space you can find around the area, as it is a bit more quiet on this side. Therefore you do not have to worry that much even if it rains, that its just a few steps away from the nearest shop lot.

Andes (2)

On Sunday night, this place is a bit quiet as there are a few tables occupied.

Andes (3)

Love the setting of the outlet as its a bit more towards old English interior with red brick wall, old wooden tables and chairs.

Andes (4)

Food price in Andes BYO Pork Burger seems to be very reasonable and I am so keen on their pork range available.

Andes (5)

So what we order is this Porky Pork Grill @ RM 17.90. Looks like it had been perfectly grill with their own marinated sauce and turns out to be juicy and taste perfectly good. My friend is enjoying every bite of his pork. By dipping with the gravy along is very individual preference, either you find it spoil the taste or makes it better. For me, I prefer just to dine it original . .:)

Andes (6)

Aussie Bacon Burger Wrap @ RM15.90 is their signature pork burger and when I was serve in front of me, I am a bit surprise to see the thick and round the patty is is being serve. Smells good as their signature burger being serve along with bacon, coleslaw and fries.

Andes (7)

The patty is good, that able to maintain its juiciness of it and after cutting it, I can just see the cheeze oozing out from the patty. Indeed it was home made by the size and well mince that I get to enjoy mouthful bites from it and the problem for me is a bit hard to grab hold and need to open my mouth to the widest to get full bite of it. 😀

Pretty good for a pork burger being serve in this area, to make another visit back to this place, I would not hesitate as the price are very reasonable. One of the set back that I read from other bloggers that the QC in here are not consistent. Thank god that I had this meal in pretty good taste!

If you are hunting for Pork Dishes around PJ area, certainly would be one of the shop to look out for.

I guess recently that I notice, a lot of Non-Halal restaurant start mushrooming especially in serving pork burger. Therefore for all the pork lovers out there, you surely would not want to miss this, one of the latest crave that we got introduce is Betty’s Midwest Kitchen which is located in the heart of Aman Suria. We got here directly after a photo shoot outing at Recreation Park at TTDI.

Midwest kitchen served homey cook food by serving pork ribs, chicken sandwich, classical burgers which are simple yet delicious.

Thomas Kamper Root Beer @RM5.50 per bottle

We were very hot and sweaty from the outing in the morning and craving for coke to cool down, then the waitress introduce us the root beer, without hesitation I just order because never heard of the brand before and the waitress said it is good.

Surprisingly I love the taste of it, its quite gassy and very refreshing that suits my current condition on that time. It taste like sarsi cross over with coke to get that kind of flavor, I ended up order another bottle.

Midwest Kitchen (16)

House Salad @RM8

For girls plan to go on diet, they healthy range would be their homemade salad top with fresh crisp apple tumble with home dressing.

Midwest Kitchen (17)

Pulled Pork Burger @RM12 – burger with the slow roasted and shredded pork and braised in special sauce

One of their porky burger range is serve with finely chopped pork in their home made sauce end with chunks of onions slip in between 2 slices of fine toast burger bread. The taste is awesome, not very salty as I love mine with add in mustard.

Midwest Kitchen (19)

“Dog Food” Gravy Fries @ RM7.50

When Ken mention this is a must have food, I said lets go for it and when he tell me the name of the food I curse him and when I look at the menu, seriously the name is Dog food. This is by far one of the best dish that I come across, that soak in sea of homemade sauce bake with a slice of cheeze. I kept eating till Ken said, Oi.. please leave some mercy, don finish it by yourself. – Recommended!

Midwest Kitchen (21)

Classical Meatloaf @RM15 – The meatloaf was made out of mince meat and vegetable

If you are looking at something off the menu that we do not get to dine in any other restaurant, then this would be one of the choice. Finely prepared and the catch is with the additional beer sauce that is given and must pour in it to get the flavour up, another recommended dish~

Midwest Kitchen (22)

Grilled Soft Ribs @RM25.50

Season well with sauces and grill till the meat is soft on the meat that one bite pull, the whole chunk of meat come off together.

Midwest Kitchen (23)

Hog Wild @ RM33 – A combination of the virginia ham steak, brats and bacon with mash potatoes, coleslaw in special sauce.

On that day, we were lucky as fathers day was last week and they have this special dish up just for two days, which is usually only available during Christmas. The trick is they do not always get very nice ingredient and its not cheap according to the lady boss therefore she recommend us to try it out.

With her recommendation, it never fail to impress us with the strong taste of ham steak that one bite, the flavor burst into whole mouth and its soft, chewy and thin layer of fats in between just melt in the tongue. If a beer was served on that day, could not be even more perfect.

Now, you guys have to wait till Christmas season to enjoy this special dish.

Midwest Kitchen (24)

Pan Fried Pork Chop with Country Gravy @ RM20

Grill the pork is soft, juicy and tender shower by homemade sauce with some black paper and I just love their mash potato.

Midwest Kitchen (25)

Forgot what is the name of this.

At the end of the meal, we were all very full, satisfy and feel so lazy to drive back. This shop of course is a Non-Halal Restaurant but surely I will be back for more for its price, quality and ambience.

Surely its a recommended restaurant by me~
