Lantern festival is coming soon and what does that mean? It means get your candles and lantern ready. Not only that, of course it comes to a time where traditional mooncake is flooding the market as where you can see in most malls. Tai Thong Mooncakes is one of the selection.

This year mid-autumn festival celebration with Tai Thong Group is really unique as it recently introduces 4 new variants of mooncakes incorporating the best of local and international fruits.

Ingredients used are fresh and dried fruits to make up the aromatic unique flavours. Fruits that make up the base layer of the mooncakes this year include orange, blueberry, mango and pineapple, which are all very citrusy, refreshing and naturally sweet for my liking.

Snow Skin Pineapple Lotus with Jackfruit Mochi (冰皮凰梨菠萝蜜麻糍)
Jackfruit flavours are pretty distinct and you can get the natural taste of jackfruit and the skin is just nice as its slightly chewy.

Orange Lotus with Palm Sugar and Assorted Seeds (香橙红糖莲蓉)
This is interesting as it has hint of orange flavour and end up with mild coconut palm sugar taste.

Limited Edition Imperial Musang King Royale (至尊猫山皇) @ RM78 per pair

One of their all time best seller is their all mighty Imperial Musang King Royale. Using one of a premium durian with pretty solid durian meat base in snowskin version.

All the series were crafted by one of a award winning Chef Yiu Wing Keung for this healthy combination.

Next for Mid-Autumm menu which ties back to some of its fruity healthy element from mooncake, it kick off with Double boiled Chicken Soup with Conpoy, Papaya and Snow Fungus. It was so good that I wish I could have another bowl to enjoy. Recommended.

Crispy Soft Shell Crab with Mango and Kiwi SauceRM43++

Very intersting combination is this Pan seared Scallop with Blueberry and Apricot @ RM58++ . A mild sourish and sweetness from bluberry with this scallop that makes it quite unique.
