In Malaysia, we have many types of Kopitiam, ranging from Hainanese, our traditional weekend joint nearby a market or at your favourite shop most of the time. I come across to most kopitiam have their own style of cooking especially those more to homecook style. Surisit The Thai Kopitiam is the latest joint that offer thai authentic cuisine that start to operate in this industry that hidden right in the heart of Taman Tun Dr.Ismail which is hidden right behind CIMB back area. .

You can find alot of Thai authentic food out there, with one good thing about this place is that you cant find many Thai Food that serve PORK and this is one I come across that makes us keen on it.

Surisit (1)

The kopitiam is easily spotted as its the only kopitiam that operate with pale orange colour lighting and wooden plants and wooden chairs right outside the shop.

If you travel to Thai, a few types of chili will be placed on the table to suits you or to spice you up.

Surisit (7)

Soya CinCau @ RM 7.90

Surisit (8)

Start off our first dish with Pucuk Paku Yam Pla or kerabu pucuk paku @ RM14.90/15.90. I find this dish is very appetizing or maybe I love sour taste to start off with, not only that, this dish is served cold and once start eating eat, I cant stop as it taste sour, little spicy and hint of coconut. – Recommended~

Surisit (9)

Next dish that is served that steal our hearts away instantly is this very fragrant Mun Thod Gapi @ RM16.90/24.90 or crispy fried pork served with their own home made chili. It was good, with its crispy skin, and the texture of pork is soft and evenly seperated out with some slices are filled with fats that some of my friends like it, and I love mine with just some fats. This plate was gone instantly. .  Recommended~

Surisit (10)

Kheng Som Pla @ RM32.90 known as  sour orange curry fish with vegetables. Its another dish that not to be miss when dine in a Thai restaurant or usually you would either order this or the fried fish. For soupy fans, you might enjoy this too as the fish is fried first instead of steam then bath with the soup. The crust of it is crispy, then eat along with the sour spicy soup. The soup is pretty additive to me tho . .

Surisit (14)

Pla Neung Prik Ma-Nao @ RM32.90 is another dish that must look out as the fish is deep fried then sprinkle with fine chili, lime, garlic and spring onion on top of it make it a bit challenging to eat as I cant really take spicy. This fish was evenly distributed with some people like to eat the fins, heads as it is very cripsy and fragrant yet best part of all, the fish is fresh as the meat is soft also must eat along with gravy on top.

Surisit (11)

Thai style fried egg omelette or Cha Om @ RM9.90

Surisit (12)

Kao Klut Gapi @ RM14.90/18.90 or belacan fried rice that serve along with sweetened pork

Surisit (13)

Then you just  mix everything in the plate  . . .. The combination of all flavours makes it extra kick, with cili padi, yet you get to taste sour lime as I squeeze both lime on top and young mango, then sweetened pork gravy.

Surisit (15)

We always would prefer go traditional as original tomyam is in clear soup just that malaysians had made it to fiery red style tom yam and we still stick to trandtional ones, comes this Tomyam Ka Moo @ RM25.90. The soup is good as it was cook along with pork and was very sourish just that it was not spicy as we expected, then after that we ask the person, they said this is the standard taste and we can request it to be spicier which we would next round~

Surisit (16)

Torb Tim Krob @ RM5.90

Surisit (17)

So far,  Mango Pulut (Glutinous Rice with Mango) is offer in many Thai restaurant, this is quite good as the mango is very fresh, soft sweet and juicy, then eat along with soft sticky rice which top with coconut milk that makes it frangrant to eat along with the sweet mango @ RM8.90

Definitely this will be our another Thai restaurant to be in our hit list and we will definately will come back for more, as the chef actually allow us to order things off from the menu or just tell him a budget and he will prepare good authentic thai food for us. Just that need to book 3 days in advance. If you are looking for good thai food, this is one to hunt for. .  Recommended~

I have always love other fast food outlets and I did walk pass this fast food chain Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen & Seafood many many times and till I heard a few of my friends actually love this more. Then we were at e-Curve last week and decided to give it a try.

popaye (1)

Follow by this smack ass Bonafide Chicken that my friend was crazy about. It just came out from bathing in hot oil, super crispy skin and hot meat till I have to let it cool down before I can eat the meat. Instead of bun they give biscuits which appears to be one of its signature too . .

I just love their fries, another item that I do not mind to just order and eat purely on it. Once start to eat it, it just cant stop.

popaye (15)

As Malaysians just love to eat rice, then they also do have Popcorn Shrimp Rice bowl available, and it is a bit healthy eating, as inside the rice they have read beans.

One of the thing that I have been asking around from my Malay friends and colleague are which pasar ramahdan is recommended to go? There are a few actually with like of Kelana Jaya, Taman Tun Dr.Ismail (TTDI) Pasar Ramahdan 2010 and one of the most highly recommended was Taman Melawati but then for this round, we, me, Ken and Andrew decided to make our first street photography and food hunt at TTDI.

We reach the place pretty early around 3pm and there are still some stalls setting up but most of them are already selling like hot cakes. One of the reason that the residence are unhappy about this about the traffic is cannot deny that this TTDI Pasar Ramahdan is quite impressive with its size of the bazaar is big, circulating the main middle area of shop houses.  It will be start off with the stretch in front Popeye towards KFC and to Shell end, more like a retangular shape. You Imagine yourself how big it is.

this post will be more on pictures on this lovely Pasar Ramahdan.
