I have been to this outlet twice and this would be my third time back here. Never knew they had buffet now as Red Inn Hotpot Eat All you can at RM 78+ / RM 98+ with Karaoke Room at Tropicana Avenue. Have check on their Facebook site, and the menu looks pretty promising, hence decided to give it a try as the hotpot here is not too bad and not too expensive (of course not to over order)

For the first time, I am seeing sauce area so messy.

Food list that we order . . never came complete.

Our Soup base:

  1. Malat Spicy Soup- Add RM 20 (we add on) taste normal and felt localise or nearer would be like Taiwan version. Definitely not China as lack of herb and spiciness is not there.
  2. Sake soup is pretty good as you need to cooked it longer.
  3. Pork Bone soup so so for this round as it used to be better
  4. Superior Clam indeed is good, pack with flavour.
  5. still think their tomato soup is pretty good, (on my last visit)

Free Shaved ice, but have to be timing based, as was told by the waiter either you have it now if not next session of shaved ice is 10.30pm. We were like, what is this la! then see a lady been occupying the station for other table also.

To be honest, the meat quality here is pretty spot on, especially on the Iberico pork slic & Lamb. However my comment as below:

For buffet food service, they sucked!
1. My Iberico pork slices have to order 5 times and only serve 3 boxes which I order total of 5. Takes ages to arrive and constant reminding. It felt that they pace it out slowly and to kick you out after 120 minutes up!
2. Prawns finished when we wanted to re-order (please put a sign limited stock per session) as our first order never came, it was only 8.15pm
3. 2nd order of scallop with reminder of staff 3 times – never came
4. other meat slices also never came after second round or serve 1 portion out of 4 types of different meat.
5. Sauce area: Garlic took 30 minutes to replenish , parsley never arrive after that.

Overall, for such pricing with the ingredient they are serving its pretty good in value. However with some of their staff attitude like why not u reorder – (even after placing order 2-3 times) food never came. Except there is one young chap, he is pretty good!

Kinda disappointing for such business to be operating as I felt rip off. Not honest in running a buffet business.

Chinese New Year is just around the corner and what it meas? Alot of gathering with friends. Recently, I have discover a new bar which is not too far from my work place is Gold Bar that is located inside this new building – Tropicana Avenue. They are not your typical bar as they serve full craft beer from Germany and Austria. They do have a few from the taps too.

Besides that, they have some nice selection of wine too.

For their fresh taps of the day, it is written on the chalkboard and price is very reasonable too. Now this triggers me, this bar would be a great place for Oktoberfest!

Food choices are decent as since this is more like a beer joint, their beer selection is bigger. If you are not too sure which beer to pair with your food, they have a little guideline at the bottom as  our reference.

To test out some of the draft, ordered their *Beer Flight (Gusswerk BlackSheep Stout, Gusswerk Oktoberguss, Camba Imperial IPA). It is best to drink from left to right as Camba IPA is strongest in the three of them.

Black Sheep Stout. It is a “smooth stout” in the mouth. Fruity flavours dominate up front, andit moves into a rich chocolate malt and finishes with a very dry burnt

Oktoberguss. It is a Oktoberfest beer, medium bodied, clear deep golden body, amber tones.Aromas are malts, grass, meadow, different pale malts, dust, wood. Taste ofhops, peels, herbal malts, grains, bitter – leading to a half dry herbalfinish

Imperial IPA . Distinct hoppy aroma, fruity with fresh lime note, intensive hop bitternesson a mighty malt body, best paired with meats.

WeissBier (HBTS – the simplified name for the brand, Hofbrauhaus Traunstein). This Wheat Beer has been brewed since the establishment of the Hofbräuhaus. Traunstein in 1612. It comes with the strength and properties of the own cultured yeast and is wonderfully refreshing with its fruity flavour.

WeissBier Dunkel (Wieninger) – This Dark Wheat Beer is using a special dark malt. It is full-bodied andcomes with a light malty aroma with a unobtrusive yeast flavour.

Nicobar IPA (Gusswerk).  This Indian Pale Ale smells impressive, a very special blend of fresh hopflower and malt aromas rise up the nose.Sweet aromas such as cherry, pastryand spicy aromas are combined. During the finish, the hops come out welland envelop the palate with a particular bitterness and tinge.

Camba Amber Ale. This full bodied amber ale has fragrance of ripe cherries and wild berries with a tender honey-caramel note, also having some smooth hop bitterness.

Sparkling Lemonade is actually quite interesting. It is not in the menu. Order it when you stumble any other articles that you have read

Just in for beers and need some much? then Gold Bar Platter is one of the platter you can consider. Serve with Cripsy Pork Belly, Roasted Slice Duck & BBQ Pork shoulder @ RM 34. Do dip with the sauces and drink a sip with our beer. Pairs pretty well, especially the top chilli sauce.

Bite size Pork Slider is a must order in this bar. Love the marination and the meat cook to perfection. Bun is nice and fluffy with its own dressing that makes is flavourful.

Scallops with Shell (6 pieces) @ RM 30. For the price and the scallop size that they are serving, it is indeed very reasonable. Worth to give it a try.

Thai Pork Neck @ RM 14. Strong and fragrant dressing, as the meat just lack of taste.

Love the beer selection in this bar and definitely will come back for drinks again. My beer preference is still with WeissBier series as they are lighter and more fragrant with mild sweater end as for IPA or Indian they are stronger in taste.
