I have been using this road so often for the past 2 years since I work around the area, and pass thru this place countless time, that one of the reason it caught my attention was a mini signage outside the house and got to know its actually a restaurant not a house. Told my colleague many times about this place yet still manage to drop by until recently Eric and Jennifer bring me here. 😀 – Rumah Ku Gallery and Cafe

Update: Jan 2016) HAd move to Jaya One

RumahKu (1)

Rumahku is a humble place that tug along busy street of Jalan University ( directly opp the hospital) with a single story build up bungalow converted to restaurant and you will be amaze of the concept when you walk in.

RumahKu (2)

The owner design the dining place that provides homey ambiance by reflecting 3 ethnic races of our country in each room.

RumahKu (3)

Decoration of the restaurant is rather simple but the feeling to be in here is just unique.

RumahKu (4)

RumahKu (5)

Upon looking at the menu, surprise by the price at first and followed by serving variety of food from local to western.

RumahKu (6)

RumahKu (7)

I started with a cup of hot coffee. as roasted fresh daily, will be robust in flavour and perfect for early morning with my half boil egg and toast.:D . For coffee lover this is one of my recommendation! Mango Lassi, that taste of smoothness. Then one of my favourite in the afternoon is the Ginger Lemon Grass Tea, definitely a thirst quench drink  this hot afternoon. Just refreshing. Recommended!

RumahKu (8)

Tuna Cutlet, at first I thought it was something simple from the snacks that we can obtain in ramadan market or pasar malam and it definitely proof me wrong that it is filled with Tuna. .

RumahKu (10)

Fried to perfection in golden yellow brown and filled with solid ingredients yet it is soft from inside crispy from outside. As the taste of curry powder is mild that did not over power the taste of tuna and can be addictive if you have more

RumahKu (9)

Yam Basket Chicken, is a dish from Chinese menu and they manage to cook it exactly Chinese style. Yam is fried to crips as it is that yam is soft in the inside and filled up with pan fried vegetable which is flavourful.

RumahKu (11)

Curry Laksa that serve in fiery red that might let you think its spicy and do not let the colour deceive you. Filled with coconut base cream curry and we just love the taste of it. Thick in soup flavour and spicy level is just nice to our liking. something you should look  out for as it serve along with generous amount of ingredient.

RumahKu (12)

I always thought that Green Curry Chicken would end up being Thai style, as the chef improvise it to their version. Cook the curry till dry and well coated onto the chicken and serve along. Food presentation that attracts us on the first impression.

RumahKu (13)

I always need to have my meal with a plate of vegetable as Mixed sauté vegetables is fried along that mantain the freshness of the vegetable and crips of lotus root.

RumahKu (14)

As we are pretty full by this point and Indonesian style Claypot prawn was serve upon. Aroma of the curry flavour trails onto the air makes us cant wait to take a sip of the curry. The taste of the curry is superb, a bit mild spicy that is not too thick, that will goes very well with a bowl of rice and fresh prawn that cook along is medium size. I just drink the curry like soup. Love it~

RumahKu (15)

Rumah Ku Spiced Honeyed Salmon is a bit more towards local western style that serve along with fried rice. Fried rice is aromatic, as salmon is well marinated with honey and mild spices flavour at your tongue is just nice. – Recommended!

RumahKu (16)

If you opt for more local flavour then Sambal Chicken would be your choice. Chicken is being grill and cook along with curry to ensure its coated well onto the chicken. Well marinated.

I am totally impress on this restaurant that serve fine and delicious food and I have been returning to this restaurant couple of times. I must say that this is one of the hidden gem in PJ area that serve good HALAL food. Since now its Ramadan month, definately one of the place to Buka Puasa. Recommended restaurant. According to some of the bloggers, some of them mention that their Brickfields outlet taste better. Well, its up to you to try it out.

A stall that I have been eating since I was in high school that have never let me down till today. From their old stall till their new stall located at Super Tanker at Taman Lip Sin, Penang is one of the pancake stall that you must not miss or a place to visit. I have not been visiting this stall for very long time till my last trip back to Penang. Aki Pancake is  not and ordinary pancake consider  Chinese style (ban chang kueh, or apom pancake, or even dai kau min) which you can eat it every where, it is famous for its thick pancake base with special ingredient added in.

Aki (1)

The stall had been taken care by this lovely couple which are very friendly yet polite to all their customer. This had created a bond and many of the regulars had return including my brother which is a big fan of this stall.

Aki (2)

This is what I mean no ordinary pancake stall that serve with normal peanut and corn base. They do have raisins, with seafood, chocolate and many other more. If you are adventurous enough, do try out all their signature. It will just amaze you.

Aki (6)

The ingredient he use are all the top quality that he could find to match on his signature item.

Aki (7)

One of my all time favourite is ‘Turkey Ham, Cheeze with Tuna’ @ RM 5.50. You will be amaze what this piece of pancake can do to you. Heavy damage. You might feel it is weird that this pancake is done in this way, but trust me! After start having the first piece you will never stop eating the 2nd, 3rd pieces.

Aki (8)

Always will order the traditional ones, ‘Lots of Peanut and Corn’ @ RM1.50

Aki (9)

Aki (12)

This is what I mean the damage of having the first piece and then many more to eat after that. They are very generous on the amount of ingredient added in. Every bite is mouthfull of ingredient. Damm! I am hungry now just by looking at this picture.

Aki (10)

Aki (11)

One of the best is not only on the ingredient, is the thickness of the dough or base of it is just perfect to accomodate the ingredient.

There are many more to try as I have tried 70% of their range before I start blogging and it was just most of the time I went to this stall without taking camera. Till now, I felt that its a real hidden gem in one of the residence area that MUST share with you food lover out there. It is a recommended stall by me.

My hair grows quite fast! I am trying to turn on a few styles to make it look trendy but I guess I still prefer short hair. It is time to visit my hair stylist Kopf Studio, as I know that he carries Schwarzkopf products for both the styling range OSiS and the hair care and shampoo range.

hair 3

I often visit him, as he charges relatively cheap for a hair cut for RM15 for a guy. So there is no complain that makes him a one man show. As I walked in yesterday with a small bag, he ask me what are the things inside the bag as he managed to see some red bottles and cans and I told him this products are from Schwarzkopf. While cutting my hair, he asked me a lot about the product range, how I feel and what is the best so far. Then I told him a few and he shared from his point too.

hair 3 (2)

After finish the whole cutting process, I bring out my Osis G-Force which has a super strong texture control , that is one of the reasons I cut my hair short to try out this.

hair 3 (3)

He just apply a small amount on his hand and use his finger tip to move here and sway around with by finishing pulling a few strand at the center to make it stand.

hair 3 (4)

A few touches at the end, now I quite like this gel which holds instantly and dries up pretty quick which I really needed it  in the early morning to rush out for work. I love how it looks with my short hair and my face at least now look a bit more energetic with its great shine plus, easy to wash off as it doesn’t feel sticky on my hair after that compare to my last use X product previously.

OSIS 2 – Mess UP

hair 3 (6)

As the Salon does sell Osis Mess Up as what he name it the Tuna can, then only I realise it really look like tuna can which is one of his favorite product to use which he constantly apply on guys hair for its ultra matt finishing.

hair 3 (7)

So coincidentally he was using this on that day as this is how he apply and look on his hair. One of the reason he use it is because of the dry texture effect that can holds on his new hair cut from the front and back to front again that gives it, a bit of rough style look. Mess Up definitely didn’t mess his hair but holds his hair by for a long period of time.

I’ve learn a lot and thanks for all the info I needed from Leo Tang, Hair Stylist on how to use these products as he has knowledge on Schwarzkopf products.  His studio located at Desa Gembira Condo, Off Kuchai Lama.
