Past weekend, I get a chance to follow BangsarBabe for lunch outing. Then she introduce us one of her favourite spot in Lucky Garden that she come very often which is Anuar’s Kari Kepala Ikan (Anuar’s Fish Head Curry)/ Bangsar Fish Head corner. On this spot, its hard for you to miss as during lunch time, it will be very pack and long queue.

bangsar (1)

Then only get to know that, he is no stranger to many local residence there and had attracted many loyal patrons since operating the business 30 years ago.

bangsar (2)

bangsar (3)

This is one of the most simplest stall that I ever come accross that attracted so long queue, with the stall only selling, fried chicken, fried fish and curry fish head,

bangsar (4)

bangsar (5)

The fried chicken is hard to resist whereby I thought I only wanted a piece and ended up having another 2 more. Fried to crisp and well marinated that make it flavorful. Not a big piece but just nice.

bangsar (6)

Then Riff told us, Sotong is a must and fried fish. For curry fish head, usually he and bangsarbabe could not finish and since so many of us here, we must eat the fish head. All are good, with sotong is fresh and chewy, well marinated, curry fish head is huge and curry is mild follow with pairing of fried fish. Just perfect.

Now only I understand why its famous because if you wanna get cheap good food, this is one of the place to hunt for it. Limited choices but good enough to please our tummy.

bangsar (7)

After our heavy meal, a stone throw away, comes to this famous Indian Apam which is a must have after your meal. A very traditional type of eatery that I came across for the first time.

bangsar (8)

Alot people came here for the Tosei and others.

bangsar (9)

This is another busy stall known as OM Shakti Chelo’s Appam stall, sell vegetarian food.

bangsar (10)

bangsar (11)

This lady busy preparing and coordination with 6 woks to meet customers demand, as this apam is cook with small fire.

bangsar (12)

Order Mee Goreng, its pretty plain and nothing to shout about or maybe in my mind, I was thinking of Penang Mee Goreng.

bangsar (13)

This is the famous Indian Classic/traditional apam. I have never come across in this version. It was done with perfection that it smells so good.

bangsar (14)

Crisp on all corner that is aromatic that I even steal my friends portion and right in the middle is filled with coconut milk and sugar. A bit moist and enjoying every bite of it.

If you are looking for cheap eats in Bangsar, then head to Lucky Garden to hunt for cheap nice food.

Halal

Remark: In the mornings, they serve roti canai

If you are there during the night, I find that this tai chow, Sin Lai Ping is good and cheap . Worth to give it a try. .  (NON-HALAL)

How  many of you will turn down a review or when a friend ask you to eat vegetarian or organic food? For me, I its a new discovery, cuz often on the month of Nine Emperor festival its very hard for me to locate nice organic or vegetarian place in KL as not as widely celebrated compare to Penang whereby alot of vegetarian stalls are set up every where. Chef Lim Organic Kitchen.

[Update Jan 2014: close Down]

Organic (1)

Nevertheless, I had the opportunity to visit Chef Lim Organic Kicthen, and how to turn down? I am a food lover in many ways as I always enjoy my meal and learn to eat and dine accordingly. As fore say by many people, organic and vegetarian food will head towards very mild or near tasteless food as one of the reason its healthy food. Never meant to be alot of taste, eat light and simple.

Organic (2)

Chef Llim Organic Kitchen open its door to public since last year September 2011 at The Scots Garden, Old Klang Road and it had starting to gain popularity among organic lover and slowly public are accepting the taste of it after learning the way to eat it and the benefits of eating healthy.

Organic (3)

A place that well lit up with some English interior to be spill upon.

Organic (4)

Organic (5)

Organic (6)

Many people have the perception that organic food would be expensive including myself too. When I see the price of the menu and what is being offered I find it very reasonable.

Organic (7)

Organic (8)

One of the reason that Chef Lim Organic Kitchen gaining its popularity among many vegetarian and monks are the fundamentals, freshness and healthiness are assured, long serving PURE vegetarian food where no egg and “five pungent spices” eg: garlic, onion, chives, spring onion and leek is used in food preparing.

Organic (9)

Fruit Tea (Large) @ RM17.90 with a few types of fresh fruit being cut and blend then serve warm is something new to me. As mention by the chef is good for digestion and alot of customer prefer it hot. They do serve cold too . . Love the taste of it~

Organic (10)

Brown rice @ RM2.00 per bowl  that I often take during my meals on vegetarian. Surely it taste very bland and not aromatic as those white rice often eat at home.

Organic (11)

Cukawamee @ RM6.90, one of the reason its green colour that many people ask and thought its colouring but its not. Its the effect of  being soaked in sugar syrup and the duration makes it green.

Organic (12)

Golden Beancurd – Large @ RM18.90 – beancurd that mixed with pumpkin, and ridge gourd

Organic (13)

something unique in the soup that add on some extra flavour is this dish . .Coconut Tomyam @ RM17.90

Organic (14)

Herbal Mushroom Soup – Large @ RM18.90

Organic (15)

One of my favourite is this Basil Leaf Mushroom – Large @ RM18.90 that had been stir fried till the flavours blend in pretty well . .

Organic (16)

Another of my favorited is Kapitan Fish – Small @ RM14.90 that is well cook with the gravy is just perfect, not too spicy yet hint of sour at the end of the taste, clever to use eggplant, ladies finger and some other vegetable to make this curry mixture out.

Organic (17)

Yam Basket @ RM18.90

Organic (18)

Lo Han Chai @ Large @ RM19.90

Organic (19)

Kam Heong Mushroom – Large @ RM18.90 as mushroom had been carefully slices and deep fried first then follow by pan friend with kam heong till all the aroma blend well. Some of you might not like the taste yet the crispiness is there.

Organic (20)

Very seldom you will see organic food preparing Italian food because of the ingredient involve yet this caught us by surprise that their Classic Cabonara @ RM14.90 turns out to be good too, with a bit milky creamy texture, spaghetti is springy.

Organic (21)

This would be one of my highly recommended dish for organic or vegetarian as Fruit Pizza @ RM19.90 being baked to perfection with its slight thin crust of every bite with crips, dressing on top just match the taste of the fruits being finely cut and added on. One of their top seller.

Organic (22)

Hawaiian Pizza @ RM21.90 topped with capsicum, tomato and pineapple.

One of the reason their pizza turns out to be top seller as the cheeze being carefulyl source and imported from Australia and it turns out to be cheezy awesome!

Organic (23)

Craving for meat then Grill Beef Steak might be one of your selection as again, being well deep fried and special ingredient from the chef to make the texture taste good! @ RM22.90

Organic (24)

You will be surprise on the taste that how the chef did this desert without egg and milk. Mango pudding @ RM5.90

Organic (25)

This is what happens when there are 2 groups of people, as all being the guys are being busy by capturing all those nice food and as for the girls are all on a table to discuss on recent issue. . :p

If you are ask me where to get nice organic food, this restaurant certainly now being added into one of my recommended list.

For the dishes that had been cook out, I am totally impress by the chef little experience and most definately is because he is super young to be able to cook this kind of organic meal out!

Remark: please do note that this place is not suitable for people who have strong taste bud as you will find this place near tasteless, for vegetarian and organic lover, this place would be a recommended restaurant!

*quite surprise that they are HALAL outlet!

This week I have been actively google up a few places to eat for vegetarian and this is one of the restaurant that attracted my attention. With a nice cosy interior and a another style of serving Vegetarian food that set food in one of my food hunting area, Bandar Puteri.

As usual, this area is always alot of cars but nothing to worry much as there are alot of parking space available. To pay the ticket is up to you~

A very big logo sign on its ceiling.

A pretty interesting menu that gives me the feeling of a mixture with Winter Warmer’s and Garden Lifestyle stall,1-U.

A cafe kind of concept with wifi available.
Rose Lemon Juice: something which you are looking for to quench your thirst, yet could make your face smirk. RM5.80
Snow White: a mild thick juice yet taste a bit near to milkshake. Not bad~ RM7.80

Non Alcoholic Beer: If you are craving for beer during this period, this drink definitely can help you to cure it. Sure it has 80% similar to beer with the gas, colour and everything but it had some strong aroma of honey. RM5.80
I have always love to eat sandwich and this is the first time during this period I get to eat ‘Pro Sandwich’ which filled with vegetarian ham, cucumber, tomato and apple slices. At first we were very curious how come there are apple, that makes us think can meh?nice meh? Actual fact for vegetarian sandwich, it is nice. RM6.80
A set meal RM7.80
‘Basil Rice Set’ as the sauce taste good and the basil taste doesnt over power the gravy taste. Just nice. RM7.80
‘Green Curry Rice’ by the look itself, you can already judge how good it is. Too watery like drinking soup, yet the taste is way off. RM7.80
‘Italian Special Meal’ one of the best compare to the rest taste very similar to spaghetti bolognese. Recommended. RM6.80
‘Stew Noodle Soup’ taste a bit off, maybe its because of vegetarian soup base, so errrr….don know how to say. RM6.80
In the picture on the menu sure attracts me to order this. Even on this pic. ‘Mango Snowball’. All of us had tried and concluded with, it is not chill enough, the puree is very thick if add on some snow ice would taste even better, the sarsi jelly and rice ball doesnt go along with it. We did thought of how nice if it was longan. The desert doesnt comes to our liking. RM5.80

This lunch time I am really lost and my friend is heading towards Jalan Duta side and was asked to look around where got veggie shop to eat. They have been very nice accompanying me eating Vegetarian food for a few days already. So I found this shop and its on the way of stopping by.

This is the first vegetarian restaurant that I came across that served tim sum too.

The picture illustrated in the menu sure show’s a sign of their quality of food but don know got kena tipu a not.
I love their interior design, very very China feel with wooden chair and table carving designs.
Then we were served with this Enzime as what my friend call. Something very sour and a weird taste but some of them are alright with it. Some of them like yewwwww….
‘Crispy Seaweed Slice’ RM2.50 was served upon with the drink and this thing was gone in minutes. A bit crispy yet have the taste of seaweed.
Then we were given this rice. I don know what it is called.
We order a ‘Set Lunch D’ and it served with ‘Curry Mutton’ with mild curry and the potato taste perfect but the mutton curry doesnt taste anything close to mutton. Would say more like a meat ball.
‘Soup of the Day’ nothing to comment on.
‘Mix Vegetable’ at least it was friend to perfection that manage to preserve the freshness of the vegetable. Mild in taste but I have no complain.
‘Fried Fish Soup + Black Bean Sauce’ is nothing near to what it has describe.Cant really taste the black bean and the fried fish is not really fried.
‘Sweet and Sour Meat’ is also not anything near what it has been describe. The meat that was fried taste and chew more like a fried sotong.
At the end of the lunch they were still not full and ordered the ‘Tim Sum’ as having promotion 30% and after the % it charge at RM15.75. The taste of course cannot compare to the real taste as we usually eat. Only 1 word. Okay lah~
At night I was around that area too and look on the internet and according to the address given, there is not such shop that were printed on my paper. Then only head back to this restaurant.
We order something simple and fast ‘Fish Head Bee Hoon’ which the ginger taste over power most of the ingredient in there but at least 50% same compare to the 1 I dine at Kuchai Lama. RM8
I add on ‘Fried Goose’ which this is the first shop I came accross that sell this. I seldom miss this only in KL its hard to find. Well, its served very thin layer of the fu chuk yet quite oily. RM10
My friend order ‘Tom Yam’ which we felt it taste quite weird. Then only realise that the pineapple that taste weird had spoild the soup base. RM8

Just only moving into 2nd day and to look for one place like this to eat is a pain in the ass. As my friend brought me before to this food court located at Puchong and I remembered that this place did serve cheap Vegetarian food and glad that they brought me here before.
This food court you will be able to find this Vegetarian stall as it is usually quite packed with people. Best to go is to reach here before lunch time.
They do sell stir fried dish and besides this another option which is available that is,

Economic rice style. Quite alot of variety available.

The best part is, the price range from RM3.50 and I have even took till whole plate was covered by the dish, maximum that I have paid so far was RM5 including a glass of Herbal Tea.
The food served was quite good yet the pricing is definately alright to me. Do not know where to get vegetarian food, this is one of a good place to consider.

Since that now is the starting of the Kaw Ong Yah (Nine Emperor God Festival) which yesterday is the first day. So I am going vegetarian for 9 days during this occasion. It is seriously a big headache if go vegetarian in KL not like in Penang, every corner filled with the stalls on the road side, restaurants are packed with people. Google had been my good friend for this upcoming 9 days.

What is the celebration of Nine God Festival you can click on the link provided that I have surf and came across to get a better idea what is this one of a big Chinese occasion.

During this occasion I will mostly blog about vegetarian restaurant that I eat around. This is one of the place that my friend brought me here and its sardine pack. Not really a big shop and the parking is a pain in the ass. You can double park but please put your name and number on the front.

I don remember the name as it is a economy rice style just pick what you want. So this are the things that we have picked up.

‘Pig’s Tail’ the look very authentic yet similar but once bite even though it is vegetarian, it taste about the same but too salty.

This one is quite alright with the peanut is quite soft and its suppose to be as salty as it is.

If it added abit spicy it would taste even better and the veggie is salty good too.

I like this which fried quite chewy on the thing itself yet the sauce is a bit sweet. Did not too deep fry.

Preserve its original taste and lucky thing did not overfried.
2 types of rice you can try out. The white rice and this 1 cannot remember what is the name.
One of my friend tried out ‘Curry Mee’. It looks fiery red but not spicy, added on the whole sauce plate chili. Would not complain too much on the soup cuz its vegetarian.
Would not prefer to come back to this shop to eat unless no choice, cuz in my taste I still thinking of the vegetarian food taste fronm Penang. So its quite a big different. The price in this shop is slightly above average.
