Some of us would have dinner outside almost everyday. Sometimes, we are just lost in hunting for what to eat on next meal. There is one outlet that newly operated in Sunway Pyramid new wing that sit directly across Starbucks is this famous restaurant chain from Singapore, Paradise Inn. Yes correct! I think you have the same thought as me when I was like huh? A restaurant not a hotel? Well, the word Inn definitely mislead many of us yet it is confirm that its not a hotel and it is actually a restaurant.

Paradise Inn (1)

The restaurant is decorated back into the olden days with contemporary look as you can see at the main entrance is like back to the 70’s style design high class restaurant at that time.

Paradise Inn (2)

Paradise Inn is one of a well know restaurant chain in Singapore that they provide good home cook style food at a very reasonable price.

Paradise Inn (3)

The food in the menu looks very tempting, everything in it looks good~

Paradise Inn (4)

One of their signature is their double boil soup that I can see nearly all tables have this classic pot sitting at their table.

Paradise Inn (5)_resize

I love the drinks that they are offering with a very light hint combination of the flavours and my fav is the one in the middle, which is one of the best seller (I suddenly forgot the name) then follow by Lavender Tea filled with some natural herbs and flowers like chrysanthemum too.

Paradise Inn (8)

Traditional double boil soup – Clam with pork ribs @ RM39.90/pot

Paradise Inn (9)

since every one order this, we were serve along to try it out along. This pot is enough to feed for 2-4 pax.

Paradise Inn (10)

Very clear in taste yet boil till the soup is aromatic, something that I have miss for quite some time and now I know where to hunt for nice double boil soup that is added into my list.

Paradise Inn (12)

Crisp-fried Crystal Prawns with Salted Egg Yolk one of the must order item. A prawn that had peel all the skins out and cook along that the whole prawn meat chew in your mouth blends with aromatic fried salted egg along just burst in flavour in your mouth. I always prefer to have prawns that already peel off its shell so can get the full taste of it. @ RM 29.90

Paradise Inn (13)

Crispy fried Fish With Preserved Bean Paste (Nam Yue) – Dory Fish fillet battered with preserved bean paste that fried till crisp on all side.

Paradise Inn (14)

Sliced Tea Smoke Duck is something for you to go for a start and chew, well marinated and finely cut slice is just enough to keep you going. @ RM 12.90

Paradise Inn (15)

Another one of my favourite which is Crisp-fried Crystal Prawns in Wasabi Mayo Sauce. Sauce is not too watery that is just at the right texture to coat along with the prawns and at the end of the taste a hint of spiciness that just burns your nose a bit.  @ RM 29.90

Paradise Inn (16)

Seafood Supreme Fried Rice is cook with ‘wok hei’ till its a bit dry and best part is you wont see a fried rice that cook along with Ebiko. Its unique. @ RM19.90

Paradise Inn (17)

This is one of my all time favourite, that I had this so often when I was in Melbourne and came back not many people can cook this well. Certainly Poached Chinese Spinach with Egg Trio and Minced Pork in Superior Stock is one of the recommended dish also that cook along with 3 types of eggs (Century egg, salted egg and normal egg) and mince meat. @ RM16

Paradise Inn (18)

The melt-in-your-mouth meat dishes, the Stewed Pork Belly Served with Lotus Bun

Paradise Inn (19)

It would be best to order along this Fluffy lotus bun as it is made fresh upon order.

Paradise Inn (20)

This is how you eat the stew pork with the bun, its one of the way and if you prefer to eat it without the bun also would be a perfect pair with your rice, because of its great sauce.

Paradise Inn (21)

I never like eggplant before because of its soft moist texture and after I have try good food when I was in Hong Kong i fall in love with this dish. Stewed Eggplant with Minced Pork and Salted Fish in Claypot that will pair along very well with your rice as the taste of it just absorbs. @ RM16

Paradise Inn (22)

One of a unique dish for the day is Coffee Pork Ribs, its a bit bitter at the end taste as that’s the result of coffee flavor. Very well prepared as the coffee taste do not over power their sauce that cook along. @ RM 19.90

Paradise Inn (23)

Crisp-fried Shrimp Paste Chicken crisp from inside out. @ RM18

Paradise Inn (24)

Braised Vermicelli with Pork Trotters is something that I used cook often when I am at oversea and now they have it here too. Its not too salty as it looks and the taste of pork trotters is in it without the vermicelli fried too dry. @ RM19.90

Paradise Inn (25)

Braised Tofu with Crystal Prawns @ RM25

Paradise Inn (26)_resize

At the end of the dinner, how can we not have desert when I scroll thru their desert page I am tempted to order all to try. So I guess my wish was granted and we have all it here. Corn and Barley, Mango Desert and Chilled Lemongrass Jelly with Lemonade

Paradise Inn (27)_resize

Mango Pudding, Black Sesame Paste and Almond

Paradise Inn (33)_resize

Double-boiled Hasma with Red Dates and Longan and Black Glutinous with tong yuen.

At the end of the meal, I was so full and satisfied, as rarely a Chinese restaurant that would serve quite a good range of food and taste is control best of all the price is very reasonable.. Definately I am looking foward to come back and dine here.

One of a recommended Restaurant!~

Chinese New Year, during family gathering, most of us when before dinner will enjoy ‘Lou Yee Sang’ together with family, friends and colleague. This is to mark and to wish for what you want for the year, which usually is good health and prosperous year. Nagomi

Nagomi now had come out with their version of Yee Sang which is quite tempting or I would say a good bargain for the kind of portion and price which is available from now till 20th February . .

nagomi (9)

let the leng luis intro you Nagomi style lou sang. .  Naomi and friends. ..

nagomi (10)

Nagomi Yee Sang is abit unique in style that add in with a bit of corn flakes and raw sashimi . .  ranging from tuna, salmon, amberjack and seabass and home made sauce.

nagomi (11)

Home-made sauce* and *Freshly made* ingredients.

RM48++ (2 pax)     RM88++ (6 pax)

nagomi (12)

Lets louuu sanggg ahhh . .  I wish this year be very prosperous, good health and  . .. . .

After Chinese New Year, love birds would be in hunt to bring their the other half to dine in a nice restaurant to celebrate this lovely remarkable day.

nagomi (1)

Of course Nagomi do have their very own style Valentine’s Dinner Bento @ RM 99++ served for one pax, that start to be available on 11th Feb-14th Feb. Its a big bento set.

nagomi (2)

Suzuki Senbei (Home-made Seabass Crispy Cracker) fried to crips, that squeeze with lime on top to add in extra kick of the flavour and I was asking Macky to give me his portion and he said I wish… a good, companion with beer.

Rose Shape Sashimi (Combination of Salmon & Tuna Sashimi topping with Tobiko) that is served thick in size and very fresh. Add on with a bit wasabi, is just salivating.

nagomi (4)

Love Sushi Roll  (Love Shape Sushi with Strawberry & Avocado), I like the texture of the rice which is just perfect with a slice of mini cheeze and strawberry is something unique in taste that I have try. A good combination for Valentine’s.

King Prawn with White Sauce (Grilled King Prawn with White Sauce), the prawn meat texture is solid that shows sign of freshness and grill then burn with white sauce is savoury.

nagomi (5)

What we feel that the star of the night is this very healthy meal, miso topping with Soba Soft Shell Crab Salada (Soft Shell Crab Salada serve with Buckwheat Noodle)

nagomi (6)

You have to pour the whole sauce onto of the soba then mix it around, eat it, and all of us are looking at each other’s portion hoping that the others wont finish it. The miso dressing is really really good, that I think its one of the best soba I had so far.

nagomi (7)

To end with something sweet, served with Chocolate Cheese Brownie.

nagomi (8)

As you see the expression of Naomi after finishing the whole Lover’s Bento herself, she is speechless when saw this big piece of brownie. Its not too sweet and I wish it would have been even more perfect if this brownie can top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

At the end of the meal, we were all very satisfied with the bento box and for person to finish a Lover’s bento its really huge, we were talking about for a couple can consider get 1 lovers bento and 1 Yee Sang for 2 then lou and wish for each other, but if you really love Jap food, the Lover’s Bento is definately a good recommendation by me. ..

Eating Japanese food can consider everyone’s favorite, but how many of us are able to cook or make sushi? During my uni life at oversea, me and my housemate did try to make sushi ourselves by using our own logic to do it without find a proper recipe to go along with (which is very wrong) but then the meal turns out to be not so bad, the rice we did was using Japanese rice but not as sticky as it is compare to the restaurants.

This time besides eating nice sushi, now I had a chance to learn from the best from Chef Yanagida by teaching us make simple and nice sushis, eg: Nigiri Sushi, Tobiko Gunnkan Nigiri, California Roll and Inari Sushi. During the session, I had hands-on experience by in making the sushi, it was not that easy as I thought by looking at the chef at sushi bar wrapping it but I still prefer my responsible by just eating it.

One of the trick to make the rice sticky was to cook a . . . . . . (cannot tell) to make the rice sticky.

moon n jap (28)

With Chef Yanagida vast experience he had come out with quality food with the Asian and Western Combination.

After the special sauce was cook, the sauce was pour into the rice and let it dry up. (part to ensure sticky of the rice and aromatic)

After the mini preview of the class, we head back to another section to enjoy what had been prepared for us.

Recently it was a makan makan period for all of us. Another latest addition added into my buffet is this Authentic Japanese Restaurant, Benkay which located inside Nikko Hotel. I have been told by many friends they serve good Japanese food, not until recently I had my mouth full of it.

With its unique name Benkay, only I know that the name is name after a historic Japanese warrior who was strong and courageous and loyal during the war period in Japan, therefore, with their name and the excellent quality of authentic food serving really a place not to be miss.

Niko (2)

I sure do not mind to own a cupboard with a bottle of display like that, I sure wish I can have a sip of everything. Surely a great experience and would love to learn how to enjoy sakae in different style.

Niko (3)

Niko (4)

Diners can enjoy their modern Japanese concept dining area that overlooks a landscape garden with waterfall.

Niko (5)

The very first place I had my hands on was their teppanyaki room, it was huge and I look at the ‘tempura’, it was huge, fried crisply and dipping into the hot garlic soy sauce is just yummy. With the prawns are big and juicy, 3 of us just rob the whole stack of prawns there.

Niko (6)

In the hot pan fried next to Tempura, is the Teppanyaki area. You can customize what you want and the chef are ready to show you some skills.

Niko (7)

Niko (8)

I just love my ‘Beef Teppanyaki’ to be cook in medium with loads of garlic. It was cook well and the garlic slices are very crispy and aromatic.

Niko (9)

After I finish my mini section, my eyes placed on their ‘Sushi Bar’, loads of fresh sashimi and handroll ready to be hunt.

Niko (10)

‘Salmon sahsimi’

Niko (11)

Niko (12)

Niko (13)

‘Unagi Handroll’

Niko (14)

‘Soft Shell Crab Handroll’
And the best thing is I went through at least 3 rounds for it. The sashimi were very fresh and dipping it with wasabi and Japanese soy sauce just makes my nose flame and burst into tears is what I like.

Niko (15)

As for today’s round of food hunting, I started it off pretty weird, after first few sections only I head to this cold appetizer section which is Scallop, Prawns, Oyster and a few more as it is located out side the restaurant.

I am usually not a big fan of oyster, as most of the places that serve that served it huge size which I find it very gross, but the size that was prepared in here was my choice and the oyster was very fresh that day, and I took nearly 1 dozen.

Niko (16)

Appetizer area.

Niko (17)

If you are a noodle lover, this would be a great section for you, as they had prepared a lot of gravy for you to top on.

Niko (18)

6 types of soup base to be ready for you to taste and the right side are prepared in a small portion of soba noodles.

Niko (20)

‘Peking duck’ skin will be cut into thin slices and what we need to do is we need to do it by ourselves, as in place a piece of the ‘popiah skin’ on your plate, spread the peking duck sauce on top of the skin, add on some of the veggie provided and place the peking duck skin, wrap it and ready to be eaten.

Niko (21)

After all that, I need some soup to make it digest, my very first choice as always is ‘Miso Soup’. Love it alot as it was not very salty as some other restaurant, perfect in taste and most of us like it.

Niko (22)

Next is the ‘Dobin Mushi’

Niko (23)

Squeeze the lime into in to bring the taste a bit sour and after mixing it, it taste is clear, yet with salty lime flavor.

Niko (24)

‘Double Boiled Black Chicken with Black Beans’
If you feel that you had not enough from what you can see with your eyes with these sections, then you still can order what is in the menu, ala cart style, with at least another 72 variety for you to hunt.

Niko (25)

‘Sauteed Beef with Ginger and Spring Onion’

Niko (27)

‘Mini Sukiyaki’

Niko (30)

‘Unagi with Egg Sauce in Pot’ which the eel is very soft and cook in terriyaki sauce with onion, and the egg is just cook in the right temperature that create a very good taste.

Niko (31)

‘Grilled Mackerel with Salt’, ‘Grilled Cod Fish in Teriyaki Sauce’, ‘Sauteed Scallop with Black Pepper and Onion’. We are enjoying our fish~

Niko (32)

‘Roast Duck Hong Kong Style’, ‘Fried Rice with Garlic and Egg’

Niko (35)

A great meal like that would not be perfect if without desert which is a MUST to me. A great selection and my eyes had set onto this cake since the first step I walked into the restaurant.

Niko (36)

Niko (37)

this ‘Cherry cheese cake’ that I had set upon my eyes on. Soft, yet very rich in cheeze taste, add on with the cherry and kiwi sour taste, I am enjoying it.

Niko (38)

If you prefer something chinese then try their ‘Double Boiled Sea Coconut with Dried Longan’, ‘Chilled Longan with Beancurd’, ‘Chilled Honey Dew Sago’

Niko (39)

A Japanese buffett will never be perfect if did not end with Green Tea Ice Cream, in this section you can choose, in one per scoop or 3 in 1. ‘Vanilla, Black Sesame and Green Tea Ice Cream’.

Indeed it was a great authentic Japanese meal for the night, and most of us are very full with some of the guy looks like 3months pregnant, thanks to Sidney for arranging all this.
