It is nice that often see trade ties between regions and countries that link all food produce moving around, so that we get to enjoy great food from chef. Imba Gala Italia 2019 that took place at Westin Hotel at KL is an event that bring closer ties between trade businesses with Italy.

Imba Gala Italia (1)

As a great remark for this occasion, they flew in a Italian chef and 2 more promonient local chef,  some ingredients and wines all the way from Italy.

Chef Giancarlo Mele – Guest Chef
Chef Marco De Cesso – Prego, The Westin
Chef Domenico Piras – Favola, Le Meridien

Imba Gala Italia (5)

The wines are pretty amazing and my personal preference among the 4 bottles are White – Estro Astoria and Red will be Empirio. Nice body and easy to pair with food on both of the one that I like. White is certaily a conversation drink with cheese will be the best companion.

Imba Gala Italia (6)

Imba Gala Italia (7)

Chicken Confit with Foie Gras Terrine – Figs and Balsamic Compote, micro and salad homeade pan broiche.

Imba Gala Italia (8)

very unique dish as the chicken confit and foie gras blends very well. Chicken confit is soft and moist, take a bit of the fig and balsamic compote to put on top and take it in a bite together, you get a harmonios flavour that did not over power each other.

Imba Gala Italia (9)

Parmigiano Reggiano Leek and trule Rissoto

Imba Gala Italia (10)

This is one of the best risotto that I come across. Cooked perfectly as how I was thought to enjoy this. the grains was cook till half cook texture that gives you a nice bite with a feeling is this cooked. with hint of cheese after taste that brings up the slightly saltiness that it need and the mild sweetness from the stock that they have prepared. Paired with their white wine is a match in heaven.

Imba Gala Italia (11)

Imba Gala Italia (12)

Black Angus Tenderloin, Carrot Gratain, Coriander Puree and Natural Jus.

Imba Gala Italia (13)

Imba Gala Italia (14)

Cooked to perfection that it is medium rare, and the jus is perfect. Clear with fragrant that lift the meat a nice balance flavour. I pair it with Monte Antier red wine, as love the smooth finishing after that.

Imba Gala Italia (15)

end with classic style dessert:

Pasticciotto alla Leccese, Classic Tiramisu from Friuli Venezia Guilia, Gianduitto Homemade Hazelnut Chocolate

Imba Gala Italia (16)

indeed a great night to enjoy great food and wines.

Five Senses in The Westin KL have been living up with their reputation for quite a while by serving authentic Cantonese cuisine. I tried two of their soup base – Prawn clear soup and Curry Laksa. Both the soup are rich in flavours, pack with punches and aromatic. Prawn Clear soup have its own unique taste that hits near to great prawn bisque. Can taste prawn shells flavour too. Curry Laksa is not too heavy, yet slight creamy to my liking and just could not stop drinking it.

For the gold pit- Tiger Prawns, it is indeed very fresh as usually I do not bother over it. As for this, the prawns is so fresh that the prawn shells can fill this 1 n half pot. Do not miss out their homemade lamb and squid balls. They are bouncy and good!

The only set back is the variety of vegetable and other ingredients are limited.

If you love Chinese food and looking for HALAL place to hit for, this is certainly one of the place to try out if you do not mind digging slightly deeper into your pocket. This hotpot is limited time only.

It was the weekend that most of us are anticipating for, a gathering after Chinese New Year for all of us to get to know the rest of the people in the organisation. Booked the entire place just for us only. First time dine in Westine Hotel Buffett style.
The restaurant had a nice interior whereby you get to choose in the center area which is a bit more relaxing, with sofa’s around the area, and a high ceiling till you can see what is on the 3rd floor hallway. We ended up picking on the back area, brighter and a place looks like you can just sit and chat there whole night.

This is one of the fish that had been served, do not know what fish but it is very fresh as the meat is very soft.

This is one of the salad bar. Women’s favourite.

Salad Bar 2.

This is one of the Shasimi bar.
This is the Lok Lok bar.
The sandwich bar. Something like Subway, you can just choose the kind of bread you want, toasted or not to be toasted and the toppings and fillings that you want. As my all time favourite, the croissant.
One of my favourite area for the whole night, the desert bar. Variety of cakes, pudding, jelly’s and chocolates. Can’t really recall back which is nice and not nice, as I tried every bits of it and shared with the rest.
The Ice Cream Bar. Looks tempting but the Ice Cream does not taste good. Nice to see, not nice to eat.
The topping area for your ice cream. With Blue berry and strawberry syrup, peanuts flakes and cherry.
It has been ages since I last saw ‘Tabung Uji‘ uniquely they filled it with dark and white chocolates.
A wall of chocolates for you to hunt, the chocolate is just so nice, yet some are juicy as it was filled with some sauce, you bite, it melt and spurt in your mouth. The best chocolate corner.
A chocolate fondue tower, as I called it Desert Lok Lok style. I was just standing there pok the fruits, marshmallow, and short bread, dip and bite. So satisfying until my friend came, WOI!!! you geli la… you dip like that other ppl no need to eat liau la~ lol. I dip only once, and the whole thing is in my mouth, I always use new stick. Hygiene ma~
Wohooo~ the best corner of all, free flow of beer all night long.
This is what I took for myself,
The left is the pumpkin and tomyam gong soup. The pumpkin tasted so so only as it was quite thick in the taste. The tomyam gong is disappointing, taste more like clear soup.
My personal Lok Lok corner. Every stick of what is inside that area except beef.
This is the main course food. The food is so so only.
The best of all, as I always take sandwich with my own personal custom made filled with turkey ham, tuna, egg, cabbage, tomato, cucumber, mayo and mustard sauce.
The little Asian delight that they have, Kaya Kuih(damm nice), chocolate popiah, apple struddle and cupcake(not nice)
wahhahha..This is my personal customise pancake. 1 sided filled with chocolate and the other side with Blueberry sauce and the other side with strawberry sauce. Very very nice.
This is what I mean by my lok lok style, standing there and dip.Wakkakaka. as what we did on the road side except cannot stand with kaki kang kang and head front like giraffe which we scared that the sauce will drop on our clothing.
Well, it was a very interesting night, as get to know more people within the organisation.
