In KL most of us fancy certain brand of Taiwanese Dessert as for Penang people, there are certain brand that capture their attention too. Blackball in Penang seems to be doing pretty well that have won many hearts of dessert people. I realiase it works for them in Penang too as this brand have quite a no.of branches.

Blackball (1)

First time testing out this brand, which it seems is another famous brand from Taiwan that certainly have no doubt in the taste.

Blackball (2)

While waiting for movies, then chill here for a while. Interior are pretty similiar to the others.

Blackball (3)

Try one of their new signature with corn base ice, with taro balls, grass jelly, corn, jelly and ice cream. First few bites of corn ice taste alright as the more we take, we could not finish it as if not mistaken pineapple was added in as there are sourish end. Taro balls wasnt done that well, as the texture is soft and non chewy. Not bad overall.

Blackball (4)

Another Blackball signature is serve with Taro Ball, Taro Q, Pearl, grass jelly and red beans served with some fresh milk (if serve cold). This is not bad as pretty strong taste of grass jelly is there, red bean added the bite texture, and I find it too much pearl for me. Next time should request less pearls. 😀

Blackball (5)

Try out their classic Pearl Milk Tea and 25% is too pale for us as other brand 25% is just perfect. For Blackball 50% sugar in their drinks is just perfect. I love their Winter Melon Tea. Strong in taste and not that sweet. Next time I know where to ta pau my drinks before movie.

Celebrate the Year of the Snake and usher in the Lunar New Year with us as Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur’s Celestial Court goes all out to tempt your eyes, satisfy your senses and whet your appetite with a variety of sumptuous delights.

The Lunar New Year is the most important date in the Chinese calendar and is an elaborate celebration in many parts of Asia. Additionally, there are 12 Chinese Zodiac signs and for the year 2013, it is the Year of the Snake. The Snake carries the meaning of malevolence, cattiness and mystery. In certain places or culture, people believe that if they found a snake in their court, the family will be delighted. Also, people like to paste the paper-cut ‘Fu’ (wealth) character in an upside down position on their doors or windows, combined with a snake twisting around a rabbit as a popular pattern to indicate wealth.

I guess by now most of you out there already have your favourite taiwanese drink, where some of my friends love ChaTime, Gong Cha, and a few other brands and I am sure that we are all spoilt with choices with the latest addition of another Taiwanaese brand Desert which had just landed to Malaysia which is Zen Q Desert also origins from Taiwan and this is their first outlet in Sunway Pyramid.

[Close down]

zenQ (1)

I would rate this shop more like a Chatime and Snowflakes cross over to come out this if you are saying on our local market that filled with Taiwanese desert brand.

zenQ (2)

More on green colour on ceiling and wall also on their bar counter.

zenQ (3)

They do not have long list of menu but a menu which is simple enough for us to make our choices.

zenQ (4)

After you place the order, the people from the bar counter will start to prepare accordingly.

zenQ (5)

zenQ (6)

zenQ (7)

Our first try order for the night is : ZenQ Signature

zenQ (8)

ZenQ Signature that comes with taro, grass jelly, pearl crystal jelly and a few more

zenQ (9)

The ice base is covered with grass jelly flavour, taro balls is quite chewy and like the crystal noodle as overall i prefer snowflakes brand over this.

zenQ (10)

This is something which I do not really enjoy is this Taro Sago @ RM 6.90 where the base is filled with sago then taro base soup is pour ontop. For the first few sips it taste awefully good, as the time proceed, I find it more and more ‘jelak’ as we only manage to eat halfway true. I do not know how to enjoy this.

zenQ (11)

One thing I am really impress of this brand is their drinks series, which we bought ‘Milk Tea’ which really can be on par with Chatime that the taste is quite strong in taste, not too milky n sweat and ‘Aiyu Baby Pearl Winter Melon Tea’ is the best Winter Melon Series so far that easily beats all other outlets. [email protected] RM 5.90  (in my opinion haaaa. . .) – recommended

Yay, now I do have another brand to choose from, and you are seriously pampered with many choices.

Restaurant Aunty Lan Having food marathon giving the memory of how me and my gila friends eat when out for our makan trip. 1 day 6 meals was truly a memorable which in our dictionary the word hungry was immediately deleted on that few days but when comes to this food outing which organize by Sid, this was our very first stop for lunch.
[update 1/3/2017] – no longer in operation]

Auntie Lan

A home cook noodle type which most of the ingredient and recipe are created by themselves to extinguish themselves from others.

Auntie Lan (2)

Honestly, judging from the menu, the foods look good and certainly one thing which caught my attention was the pricing for the food, its relative cheap.

Auntie Lan (3)

Comes with drinks ordering, I ordered ‘Home made Winter Melon Lemon Ice’ (RM3.60 -hot/RM3.90 – ice). I just love my drink.

Auntie Lan (4)

Then this colorful picture which nicely taken in the menu makes me order a pot of ‘Honey Ginseng Rose Tea’ (RM4.90 or RM8.90/2pax)- left pot. I just did not know that Ginseng and Rose tea would blend in so well that the ginseng did not overpower the taste of rose yet both added up to the right aroma yet when I was I was given a small pot of honey I doubt it would be good but it just surprise me that, the honey sweetness add in to the tea just make the whole pot of tea just to be perfect. I had 2 pot of this for myself.

Sloppychic ordered ‘Honey Mix Flower Tea’ (for relaxing) – (thorapple, rose and Jasmine) (RM5.90 or RM9.90/2pax) – this would have a stronger taste of jasmine tea yet the rose aroma blend in well, with the add on of a small pot of honey, just makes the difference taste of it.

Auntie Lan (5)

I just love my pot of tea.

Auntie Lan (6)

A simple dish like ‘Chives Fresh Prawn Fried with Egg’ (RM6.90) can turn us off away easily however it’s a very aromatic dish with the taste of egg and the chives blend in with a bit of saltiness yet the prawns was added in to give some seafood taste of sweetness in it.

Auntie Lan (7)

‘Home Made Bean Curd Skin’ (RM5.50/3pcs) is fried very crispy.

Auntie Lan (8)

‘Dry Curry Chicken Rice’ (RM8.90) just love it as how I like it to be. Not too thick curry gravy that can taste some of the santan yet its not too spicy filled with well cook potato and chicken meat is soft.

Auntie Lan (9)

If you are looking for some home cook this would be the choice ‘Home Made Hand Tear Noodles’ (RM5.90)’. Mild soup base of anchovies added in of mince pork cook with hand tear noodle (which is not too flour taste) is just nice.

Auntie Lan (10)

Then for spicy lovers, you might want to try out their ‘Southern Tomyam Laksa Noodle’ (RM14.90). Spiciness of small chili with the sour’ness of lime had just make the soup base perfect. Me and sloppy were enjoying our soup.

Auntie Lan (11)

‘Sweet Soya Sauce Village Chicken Dry Noodle’ (RM9.90) when it was serve we were like woahhhhh…..the chicken drumstick is so big and me directly went to the menu and look at the price. The price and the portion serve would just say cheap. The noodle is quite springy yet not like the wan tan mee base its something unique which is not too salty and too sweet.

Auntie Lan (12)

‘Cantonese Fish Head Meehoon’ is a bit mild in taste but I love how they fried the fish head to very crispy, of course have do not let it soak on the soup for too long. (RM8.90)

Auntie Lan (14)

When comes to desert, this is their signature item ‘Home made Chinese Ball Pumpkin Dessert’ (RM4.90)

Auntie Lan (15)

Home Made Cheese Cake – Yam
Home Made Cheese Cake – Durian

It is nice to get a chance to taste on the homecook food base as this business is run the family that some of them are as a cook with experience. With the price tag on it, sure I do not mind to go back again.

Bangsar had always been one of the exclusive place to dine at and yet as I always pass by Bangsar One which had now transform to one strech of bangalow restaurant which most of them had their very own style that had always caught my attention to dine there.

‘????? ???????

House of Tang (14)

House of Tang (15)with its not too thick soup base that filled with stripes of shark fin’s and fresh crab meat add on with some vinegar that I just slurp the whole bowl within seconds. Not too strong in flavour yet its just nice, something clear.

House of Tang (16)

‘????? ????
House of Tang Braised Pork Trotter’

House of Tang (17)Is the best I have eaten so far on many dishes, as pork trotter I choose not to eat the fat’s part but this is truely exceptional. As the waiter was cutting the portion, I just cant wait to eat the pork as it smelllsssss so nice~ and the waiter did put some fats on my plate. My gawd, when I put into my mouth, the fat’s just melts on my tongue and it taste so good, with a bit sour, salty and thick sauce yet with the softness of the pork meat is just awesome.

This would be the first time I was fighting with the rest to hunt for the fat’s. Truely surprise my taste bud.

House of Tang (20)

‘??????
Japanese styles fleshy prawns (ming ha)’

House of Tang (19)Fried to perfection that the aroma of the ingredient wraps around the prawns strongly and I just enjoy the taste of it. Solid prawn meat shows the sign of freshness.

House of Tang (21)

‘???????
Assam ‘Tom Yam’ Garoupa Fish’
Strong soury aroma was flying across the room when this was serve and I thought that its sure going to be very sour but again, caught me by suprise, the right sour level with the amount of spicness is there and to eat along with rice is the best combination.

House of Tang (22)

‘?????
Baked Chicken with Herbs’
Soft tender chicken with mild herbs taste just comes to my liking.

House of Tang (24)
‘???????
French Beans with Preserved Olives and Minced Meat’

Fried with ‘Wok Hei’ yet crispy french beans with mild saltiness of the mince meat just taste as good as it is that makes me think back the taste of dish that I had before at Melbourne.

House of Tang (25)

‘????
Double Boiled Soup of the Day’

My choice among those 3 was the coconut soup. It was one of the best soup I ever had, mild coconut flavour yet with chinese herbs and the chicken was boil along with it to create the sweetness of the soup that taste like been steam for a long period of time.

The other two are good too, that steam to perfection to bring out the aroma of the ingrediant.

House of Tang (28)

‘??????
Special Homemade Layered Beancurd’

House of Tang (29)
‘???
Braised Pork with Soya Sauce’

House of Tang (31)
The amount of fats and the soft pork meat and I wish that it was less salty then it would taste mor perfect but I still loves the Pork Trotter.

House of Tang (27)
The soft ‘Man Tou’ is to dip and eat along with the braised pork.

House of Tang (30)

‘?????
