There are a few famous Japanese Restaurant at Old Klang Road and Xenri Japanese Cuisine is certainly one of them that is well known for fresh and quality ingredient used, also makes them one of a award winning restaurant along the way. This year, they are celebrating 13th anniversary presence in Malaysia and bringing you masterpiece inspired by centuries-old fine dining all the way from Kyoto by theme it Kaiseki Artistry.
Kaiseki is one of their many specialty, with art of fine food harmonizing between flavors, textures, colors and presentation.
Since mothers day is just today, it is a great place to bring your mom to this restaurant.
Not only that, as now their new section, is being design by famous interior designer from Japan, now expend its customer dining experience where most of the dining table in this section are tatami style.
Each Kaiseki Set are 6 dishes course and price at RM 230++ with free sake
Aburi Hokkaido Mukimi Hotate – Seared Hokkaido Diver Scallop with Purple Sea Urchin Glace. Fresh scallop as the base with creamy sea urchin base that is one of my favourite element in the plate. A well balance dish for a start.
Poahced Masu with Smoked Apple Wood Chips. A superb piece where it is so fresh where I am only using chopstick to eat where it just breaks so easily. I wish the smoked apple wood chips is a little more where that’s the little secret flavour is in it, that makes it a little hint of dry apple with smokiness at the end.
This is rather interesting, Wild Mushroom Soup with Cheese Dumpling.
Slow Cooked French Meltique Beef is one of my favourite for the mains. Cook to perfection where it is so tender and juicy. To enhance healthy element in it, chef had coated it with charcoal powder that give you a very little hint of bitterness along with slow cook sauce to balance it out.
Chirimen Jyako Houba Meshi – Moutain Pepper Baby Sardine Rice Wrapped with Magnolia leaf. This is a new style where the rice is so fragrant from magnolia leave and with little saltiness from baby sardine makes it a perfect dish along with their seasoned cucumber to balance a hint of sourish taste in it.
For a finishing, I find this is rather interesting where Miso Cheese Cake certainly do let you know that it is going to be a salty base end where they use a fresh barley grain all the way from Hokkaido to balance it up. It is baked slightly to give the barley malt flavour out and eat along with miso cheesecake is another unique combination. I quite like it as its a unique taste in between.
The menu changes along the way till 30th and other combination you might get along the way are:
- Smoked Blue Mackerel Bisque
- Seared bluefin Tuna & Avocado in Grapefruit – coated with healthy chia seeds, the bluefin tuna is gently seared to maintain its juiciness. Served with diced avocado and chef signature Yuzu dressing
- Poached Black Cod with crysanthemum leaf
- Snow Crab Avocado Sphere
Pen-Shell Carpaccio with Organic Apple Dressing – Freshly sliced penshell layered with white fungus and Sakura Sho (red Seaweed), topped with deep fried Gyobou (burdock Julienne) and organic apple dressing.
From now till 30th June 2016, enjoy a complimentary sake for every Kaiseki set priced at RM230 ++ per pax.
