I have seen people starting their ‘Sau Kong Chau’ already with 3 more weeks to go right before Chinese New Year by ushering year of snake for 2013. Promotions on Yee Sang, Set lunch and dinner menu are widely available now by many restaurants. As for this round, went to Zuan Yuan Chinese Restaurant which is one of my favourite restaurant to sample out their Chinese New Year Set menu.

Traditionally, before any main meal, Yee Sang will be serve upon first. AS for this year, Zuan Yuan is not using salmon, tuna and this round they decided to go with Soft Shell crab.

Added all ingredients on top and ready to toss. I like the sauce that the chef had made, slight sour to my liking and I kept refill my bowl with more.

Braised Shark’s Fin Soup with Dried Scallop, Bamboo Shoot and Crab Meat is one of the best I have come so far in menu tasting for CNY, with generous ingredient on shark fin and scallop that make the soup tasty. Not too starchy nor salty as it was cook to perfection.

Ohh ohh, the super star of the night is their Zuan Yuan Crispy Roasted Duck Absolute crisp on the skin, that roasted with slightly Chinese herb, that each bite will have slightly after taste of it and makes it so aromatic. Meat are juicy, and tender as I eat quite a number of pieces. – REcommended!

not only that, there are 2 sauces available for your duck meat to be dip. With the original sauce and sour sauce to go along. I still find it better without these sauces. Its optional for you to dip.

 I rarely eat fish but this Steamed Star Garouper with Wood Fungus and Red Date, was done in a way that the soy sauce is good, fish meat is soft and every bite eat along with food fungus and red date is something that I like.

Wok Fried Tiger Prawn with Oats and Chilli, huge pile of oats added on top that I still manage to peel off the prawn shell and eat with a mouthfull of oat. Been stir fried to perfection and prawn is big and juicy.

A simple dish that done nicely if you dine it with a bowl of rice is just the right combination. Braised Sliced Mexican Abalone with Sea Moss, Dried Oyster and Seafood in Claypot.

When come to finale, Steamed Lotus Leaf Rice with Assorted Preserved Meat, Chicken Sausage and Yam is a dish that  mix pretty well with flavour and I add in a little bit more of soy sauce, it just pulls more flavour out of it. Just nice~

One of the most unique or creatively done by the chef by adding in a slice of cheeze on top. Find it unique in taste and do pairs well. If the cheeze is added another slice then it would have been perfect, cuz it add the little saltiness to the texture and flavour and pairs with the coconut in my thought.

These are the 2 mastermind chef that behind the whole awesome meal with dim sum and Chinese New Year dish.

Family reunion, sau gong chau or Hoi gong chau, Zuan Yuen Restaurant certainly falls into my recommendation when it comes to it for its food quality.

Heading to mid year 2012, as there are many things happening and one of the most anticipated phone by many user with a lot of improvement on the previous version, by making a remarkable sale with 20 millions units being sold world wide since its first day launch was Samsung Galaxy S2 and now many of the Android platform or in Smart phone industry, the latest unit of Samsung Galaxy S3 had being reveal and I got the privileged being invited to attend this launch.

Being a global mobile phone provider, they announce this new unit with Design for Humans and Inspired by nature which is the third generation phone for Samsung Galaxy S.

Then kick start with Kwon Jae Hoon the Managing Director for Malaysia telling us how superb and user friendly it is with many new features being introduce.

He also mention that ” with the introduction of Samsung Galaxy S III, they are confident that Samsung will surpass the success of Galaxy S II”

The latest unit emphasizes on human-centric designs, natural interaction and instant sharing. Comfortable grip, gentle curves and organic form deliver a rich organic design. Then came the product manager to introduce all the functions that have in the unit. I am totally impress on the new features that they have.

Smart Stay – as it recognise how you are using your phone as when you are reading webpage or e-book the front camera identify your eyes to maintain its bright display.

S Voice – a very improve version from previous one and it can recognize our Malaysian English easily and one of the impress feature. It listens and response on your command.

S Beam – allows us to transfer any large files simply by touching another Samsung Galaxy S3 unit without Wi-Fi or cellular signal.

this feature as in the picture is another cool feature as you read your sms and intend to call the person, just lift the phone near to your ear and it will auto dial to that person. I have only mention a few and there are a few more to discover yourself. . 😉

Here you go, with the unit of Samsung Galaxy S3 and I am quite impress with its upgraded performance, super fast and definitely light weight of 133grams  and measuring only 8.55 thick. Its also their first device that have quad core processor.

Again being a food blogger, sometimes to make things handy or did not bring my huge camera, certainly the new S3 camera impress me alot with both front being 1.9MP and 8MP back with led flash installed, multi burst shot and best of all is instant capture like DSLR! Me and Yukiko are impress with the camera capture quality.

Power by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and 2,100 mAH battery.

I know many of you cant wait to get this phone and I find that this phone its the most perfect size as its smaller than Galaxy Note bigger than S2 and alot of the girls that love its size, look and feel and its light! opt for Samsung Galaxy S3?

Christmas celebration had made alot people gear up in decorating their place looks nice. Besides that, friends and family do gather, sit and get along also meant to bring joy to many people especially to kids.

To mark this, One World Hotel had invited children’s from underprivileged home , The House of Joy which is located in PJ alongside with their staff for the Hotel’s light up Ceremony.

The hotel will also launch its Grant-A-Wish programme to fulfill the Christmas wish of 30 children from the House of Joy.  The children from the home will be hanging up their wish list on the 20-feet Christmas Tree at the hotel lobby.  The good news is that all the children’s wishes have been fulfilled by the hotel staff itself.

This year I have to admit that mooncakes mood set in really early as I did received a mooncake list from my friends as early as end of June and already show what to have and privillage for early birds discounts. This year I got the privillage to set my foot into a hotel kicthen again to learn how to make moon cakes as this round I will be learning how to make Snowskin Mooncakes with the courtesy of Zuan Yuan, One World Hotel.

What is in the kitchen for us this round is to make Low Sugar Wheat Grass and Green Tea Snow Skin Mooncakes.

Ingredients involve: icing sugar, glutinous rice flour, shortening and green tea powder.

Then jus unwrap all the prepared ingredients. . . . and this round I the lucky bloggers around are lionelOng.com, Foodpoi.com and best of all our special guest of the night from all the way Melbourne, Australia is SneakyLily.

Then you just pour all the ingredient into the tray and mix around . .add half bowl of water and mix the flour and other ingredient with your hand till its start to get sticky.

pour the rest of the water into the tray and mix thoroughly till the whole ingredient mix well. End resulst should be a bit sticky huge green tea ball.

Then you prepare another tray that you roll it then weight to prepare on the skin.

Then you take another layer of skin which you have prepared roll it till its flat and a bit thick so when you wrap it wont break.

Place the think layer on your hand then place the greentea ‘bola’ on top of it. . .

press it gently and slowly roll it with your fingers till it slowly cover the whole ball on the outer layer.

There you are. the darker green are the base inside and the one behind with a bit mixed with flour are the end result.

Then you place the ball into the wooden craft and press it gently till its even and solid, smack hard both on the left and right edge, shake a bit in the middle and turn it 180 degree hit hard on the table to enable the base to fall off.

Tadaaaa…this is what you get for the end result. . .with the crafting of logo onto the mooncake skin. Izint it is simple.?

After our hardwork in the kitchen then we were pamper with some food to digest before heading for mooncake tasting.

Starting early this month, which is month of August means is the starting of fasting month for all my muslims friends and wishing them Selamat Berbuka Puasa to all of you out there. In this special occasion, most of them will find an opportunity to gather with friends, family or even company get together and there is one of my favourite place to dine in and enjoy is Cinnamon Coffee House located inside One World Hotel  which is Next to 1 Utama.

Cinnamon Coffee house is one of my favourite buffet place is that, you cant really find all section consistent in quality and with the amount I am paying this sure gives me the worth every penny feel with the huge selection and international mixture they have in there.

For this round, One World Hotel kick start off with the theme Selera Kampung-Ku and with that classic theme, they manage to get one great chef to prepare this sumptuous spread of home cooked favourites like Nasi minyak sari shawal, kari daging tetel berkentang, ayam masak rendang raya, ikan tenggiri goreng belada, udang sambal petai hirisan and many others to hunt for.

Cheeze lovers, you do have cheeze platter for you to get your favourite cheeze to get on started.

Their Italian range always never fail to impress as I like their carbonara, its quite nice and I always sprinkle mine with lots of cheeze at the end of it. Their tomato base sauce is good too . .

the Pizza is infuse with local flavour with Rendang Pizza and Satay Piza.

If you like many flavours to your food, this section allow you to mix and match your own creation and if you mix more than that you might end having discomfort in your tummy. . 😀

This round, their local flavours are very good, as the taste of it is quite authentic and goes along with rice very well . .

Their signature is this Lamb Beryani, I always love the part at the bone there and will request the chef to specially cut it for me.
