Famous Burnt Cheesecake Tokyo Restaurant @ Lot10, KL

This is about the famous Burnt Cheesecake in Tokyo Restaurant at Lot10, KL. Who have not tried before? To be honest, I have just tried it since early this year and it is pretty good. Recently, I saw a few friend posted about their new seasonal Green Tea Macha burnt Cheese Cake.

    CheeseCake Tokyo Restaurant (1)

a place that gives you a cozy ambiance. a perfect place to chill and chat with your friends. If you do come on weekend, do prepare to queue for an estimated time of 15 – 30 minutes. As most of the people are here for the cheesecake will be seated at the bar area or high bar table. Space is slightly limited as diners just take their time to chill and continue chatting with their friends.

    CheeseCake Tokyo Restaurant (2)

If you are here for their alcohol, they do have draft beer selection as above and some cocktail with Japanese Whisky, sake base. Do check em out.

    CheeseCake Tokyo Restaurant (3)

The original famous Classic burnt Cheesecake @ RM 21. This is their signature 6th Avenue Cheesecake as peeps are just queuing for this. Love the soft creaminess of this. The chill temperate of the cake is just perfect. Not too icy cold nor too soft. Impressive is their silky smooth whipped cream.

    CheeseCake Tokyo Restaurant (5)

    CheeseCake Tokyo Restaurant (6)

This is their new seasonal or limited edition Green Tea burnt cheesecake @ RM 25 (if I remember correctly).

    CheeseCake Tokyo Restaurant (4)

Flavors of Green tea is quite prominent, and it certainly felt that they are using slightly premium green tea to make this up. For green tea lover you might like it. For me, I think it is not too bad as I felt that the original taste much better. Could be I had salty lunch before I came over.

  • Lala Noodle @ Lai Foong, Pudu

Lala Noodle @ Lai Foong, Pudu

there was a big hype over this Lala Noodle Soup in Lai Foong Kopitiam 丽丰啦啦米粉 in Pudu.  Read up some blogs that it mention that currently it is helm by third generation. I often come here for beef noodle and little do know about this stall till last year it went viral. My friend told me I should come early before 10.30am or be prepare to wait 60-90 minutes.

    Lala Noodle at Petaling street.

    lala noodle (3)

It was a random decision on a weekend to visit here and I reached about 1pm. I was lucky that I only waited about 20 minutes for my bowl of noodle.

    lala noodle (4)

you know that the soup will taste awesome by looking at the prep and the colour of it. with at least 10 different types of ingredient added into this pippin hot wok.

    lala noodle (5)

Fresh clams are cook into the soup for 3 minutes then netted it out to put into this individual bowl.

    lala noodle (6)

    lala noodle (7)

each bowl are then filled up to the near tip of the bowl.

    lala noodle (8)

Just look at this colour of it. A slight yellowish oil at the side of it and clam is indeed very fresh. A generous amount of clamp indeed. @ RM 10

    lala noodle (9)

    lala noodle (10)

soup is pack with flavour, you can taste the rice wine, heat from the ginger, slightly fragrant from soy sauce, sweetness from the clamp. It is indeed a satisyfying bowl for your lunch. It would taste even better if it is on rainy day as a sip of the soup could keep your tummy warm.

    lala noodle (11)

    lala noodle (12)

This is what I have done to the bowl. Finishing up nearly everything.

    lala noodle (1)

If you are not too sure on where to head for your brunch, then you could consider dropping by here if you have some spare time to kill. It is a very busy kopitiam, hence while waiting, I did order my bowl of beef noodle to hit it on first.

Canton Kitchen @ Happy Garden, KL

Canton Kitchen 老招牌 at Happy Garden is one of a famous dai chow in this neigbhourhood. Pass by a few times and it is constantly quite pack. My bro and his in laws always dine in this place.

    Canton Kitchen (1)

Decor is quite classic too as the whole place is set up like Hong Kong in the 80’s. Big family room is like operating a business shop from the shop visual. A few set up props area for picture purpose too.

    Canton Kitchen (8)

Curry Fish Head @ RM 28. For Dai Chow, always good to have one curry gravy dishes. Not too coconut milk flavour, yet it does goes well with white rice. Fish head is also fresh.

    Canton Kitchen (9)

Kampung Chicken with Chinese Wine @ RM 23 (small) – A pot that is punch with balance of Chinese wine flavour. A sip that will make your tummy warm as a combination of ginger and Chinese wine. Indeed a great pot.

    Canton Kitchen (12)

Looking for a place of dai chow with deceent price in Kuchai Lama or Happy Garden, this place is indeed worth to explore. A place with air corn and family friendly, as my brother tend to choose place with aircon for his kids. Indoor carpark or outdoor carpark is just right outside the restaurant.

  • Recommending Sukdduck Topokki since 1974 @ Solaris KL

Recommending Sukdduck Topokki since 1974 @ Solaris KL

I didnt know there is one new Korean shop that operate in the area of Solaris, Mont Kiara. It was a random hit of a Korea dining as I was actually craving for one. Walked into this shop as it seems new to me. Only then found out from the waiter that Sukdduck Topokki since 1974 (which I cant find details about them in Korea or maybe I am noob in finding details) had been operating for 8 months in the area.

    Sukdduck (1)

    Sukdduck (2)

    Sukdduck (3)

Especially an outlet that serve specialty of Topokki. I am not a big fan of it as I am quite picky over this classic traditional rice cake from Korea. I used to hate it and after travel to Korea couple of times, I started to enjoy this dish more as I found better ones along the way.

    Sukdduck (4)

In Malaysia, it is quite hard to find a nice shop that serve this and to me, it boils down to 2 main important element for me.
    1. The rice cake must be soft, slightly chewy that you can have some effect of like pulled cheese
    2. The gravy is the most important of all as Rice cake is only for the texture not the taste. It must be slightly thick like our curry chicken yet not like a paste. Gravy to be smooth, spicy and mild sourish.

    Sukdduck (5)

Sukdduck Topokki hits both of the element perfectly. A classic dish that is done to perfection. Rice cake imported from Korea hence this is one of the best I have eaten in KL. Soft, slight chewy and the most important serve in a long stripe.

    Sukdduck (6)

Sauce is spot on. very fragrant, smooth and addictive. With Ramyeon in there is like a icing on the top to finish it perfectly. The first few spoon, you do not feel the heat. After a while, you started to sweat yet you will keep digging in.

    Sukdduck (7)

I wish they had the fried rice after it. Little did I know they do serve like how the classic Korean dish ends it. I am going to come back again for this.

    Sukdduck (8)

    Sukdduck (9)

    Sukdduck (10)

Finally, a shop that sells authentic Korean street food Topokki in kl . Love it. If you have not been to Korea yet want to enjoy authentic Korean street food in KL, highly recommending this. Could this be the best Topokki in KL? Saw the boss walking in as this shop is operate by a young Korean Chap.

    Gonna come back for more.

Paparadise Juice @ Juicy Sunway Pyramid

One of my favourite juice store JUICY Malaysia 쥬씨 now comes out with Paparadise. I have never really blend in my mind before that there is a papaya series drink. Not our usual ordinary drinks in the menu. Went to their Juicy Sunway Pyramid Outlet to check it out. I usually visit their Bukit Bintang outlet

Now they have their new seasonal series Papaya Milk, Papaya Pineapple, Papaya Juice, Papaya Mango, Papaya Mango Milk, Papaya Orange.

    Juicy (4)

After tasted the series, I find Papaya Mango Milk is very interesting. The taste of papaya is not overpowering yet you can taste the sweetness of mango. A glass of this will certainly make you quite full.

Another one which I find it quite interesting too is Papaya Pineapple. I think its a good element for detox.

    Juicy (5)

    Juicy (6)

I have tried warm juice in Korea from this brand and it is indeed very nice. Now they have this warm juice in this outlet too, from RM 5.70. My fav is Pear Ginger and second choice will be Grapefruit. The taste is diff when it is serve warm.

Whats on Tap at Plaza Mont Kiara is one of the newest cafe in Mont Kiara. A cafe that certainly will attract your attention if you work or live around the area. A minimalist cafe of just near pure white that is quite good for photography.

As was told by the barista, they purposely select these cakes to pair with their coffee. Indeed it goes well.

    Whats on Tap (1)

I think the owner is also a KAWs brand lover. With a poster wall of Snoopy x Kaws.

    Whats on Tap (3)

Their specialty here is their single origin coffee and their nitro coffee. I have decided to try out their nitro. Brewed for 24 hours. Not too acidic, smooth body, slightly frutti yet no too caffeine overdose. Just nice for a mild subtle flavour.

  • Qing He Gu Korean Restaurant @ Uptown Damansara

Qing He Gu Korean Restaurant @ Uptown Damansara

It all started off with my Instagram stories as I was looking for a nice Korean BBQ place to try out. Thanks to many of that responded to it and decided to try one of your recommendations in it. Many of you suggested Qing He Gu Korean Restaurant in Uptown Damansara. I am quite surprise not many info about them in Google. I know about this shop and always wanted to try.

    Qing he Gu (19)

By the name itself, it seems pretty confusing to me as I would thought it is a China restaurant. However, this turns out to be hidden gem of Korean BBQ in KL. Operate by a couple from Korea.

    Qing he Gu (18)

Even premium meat that is special packed.

    Qing he Gu (2)

By looking at the menu, I am excited as there are quite number of items that I can order. Will need to bring bigger group to try as they have a few classic dish that I wanted to try.

    Qing he Gu (17)

    Qing he Gu (15)

Free Ice cream for all of us, which is a nice catch . .

    Qing he Gu (14)

One of my favourite Korean rice barley drink @ RM 7. Sweet enough to my liking and quite fragrant.

    Qing he Gu (13)

Their signature sauce is pretty spot on for both the sesame oil with sea salt is a must have ontop of your bbq meat. They are using quality sea salt.

    Qing he Gu (11)

Rarely you get to see Cow Tongue @ RM 40 and it was a must order for me. Cut to paper thin slice and easily grill. If it is too thick cut, it might become too chewy. Perfectly cooked by the staff to medium. Just a thin slice, add onto the veggie with both their sauces is perfect! End with a sip of soju bomb especially Tsing Tao with Soju (is by far the best combination of all)

    Qing he Gu (10)

Pork Belly @ RM 30 which is a piece of meat that I would rarely miss. A nice cut of pork belly and just look at the colour of it. Handling with care and perfectly cooked both side. Meat texture not too dense yet a nice layer of fats in between.

    Qing he Gu (9)

Great meat, great banchan and free ice cream (it is not about the ice cream). I would say that this shop had certainly grow into my top 3 recommended Korean bbq in KL. Pretty good and will certainly come back for more. One of the best Korean BBQ in KL or one of the best Korean bbq in PJ.

Good news is that now they have expended to Mont Kiara which is nearer to me. In Retail 163.
