mocktail in kl

Starting off, what caught my attention is their mocktails. That really look and taste like cocktails which is very impressive.

The Romero Sandia @ RM13.80 perfect for our hot weather. Serve in tiki-style with apple cider, watermelon, and rosemary. Smoked cinnamon bring hint of smokiness nice aroma into the drink.  Thirst quenching.

The Yuzu Sour @ RM13.80 –  a mocktail equivalent of the Pisco sour, channeling white grapes with yuzu and house-made spice syrup.

japanese peruvianwhen you see this, It link me back to Sushi Mastro. This is a perfect simple combination of Sashimi of Mango and Salmon.. Nikkei Salmon Mango @ RM 62 (as they are using Norwegian salmon) drench with shoyu-marinated ikura and fresh mango slices.

a mouth full of bursting flavors from ikura, soy sauce, mango. Love the simple sweet savory taste.

japanese fusionsashimiIkejime Sashimi @ RM 30 this is surprisingly good ( 2 cuts each) – golden snapper,
malabar snapper which both is local breed fish. . . Little did I know can it turn to sashimi. meat texture is nice, clean and fragrant. just need a little dip fresh wasabi and hint of soy sauce to bring up the freshness of the fish.

for a fusion Peruvian mix, the surprise element is actually the base sauce. Sukoshi, Scallop & Seabass, @ RM 52 serve with 2 Hokkaido Scallop, ikeji golden snapper, aji amarillo sauce, quinoa and truffle oil.  Refreshing taste, with hint of herbs and creamy texture, nice end of truffle that is not over powering that brings the mouthful nice balance of flavour.  best japanese fusion foodsushi mastro signature dish The Montana Chirashi – Seafood Shirashizushi @ RM75. Sushi Mastro best seller. Most of the diner will certainly end this as one of the order in their table. Packed with salmon, hamachi, hon maguro, ama ebi, unagi, ikura, tobiko, barramundi and red snapper on furikake rice. A dish that perfectly fit into our grams. best japanese food in klI was caught in surprise that the base of the bowl still fit with rice and the ingredients actually quite generous. Every bite is a nice bite of flavours when you mix well. Bursting little saltiness from tobiko, fragrance garlic rice, with with raw cabbage lighten the flavours.  Nice fish texture comes from salmon and unagi cube. Portion is best to share as I also consider above average. I would say it is good. Recommended. best japanese food in pj

wagyu

this Wagyu Yakiniku Don @ RM 140 is Japanese Miyazaki wagyu at 100gm serve with chef special Yakiniku sauce with hidden Garlic Rice at the bottom. It is serve rare and torch burn right infront of you to make it slightly charred and grill. The thin cut wagyu is amazingly good, brings a nice slight umami taste on the top layer of wagyu and topped it with special sauce, its perfect pairing. Hint of sweet and texture of meat is a bite of satisfaction. Garlic rice at the base is simple and cook with wok hei. aeon cherassushi mastro

fried lalal kepongFirst time here, we decided and go for 2 charcoal claypot. This is Dai Tao Signature Soup @ RM 38 per kg clams which is the star of the day. You can see that many tables just take phone out and shoot as most of the diners will suddenly jump up. First  is to make the claypot hot ontop of the flaming charcoal. They have a quick stir fry on some ingredients. Add in clams, soup then let it boil.

Add in Chinese Rice wine to stir up the flavour (by the way it is also free flow for the Chinese rice wine to add into soup)lala steamboat You need to be fast to finish the lala in the pot or best advise to scoop up all of it and enjoy at the sides.Broth

is  mild spicy from ginger taste, hint of Chinese wine (but you can add more) to give you the extra punch of flavours. Clams flavour is there. I personally feel that to drink half of the soup enjoy it before allowing them to add on the soup base. The first soup base is always the best.pork pepper soup Next  pot we trying their Pork Stomach Soup with White Peppercorn @ RM38. Those of you cant take the strong version then this might be suitable for you to enjoy longevity of drinking. Mild peppery, nice after taste of broth and pretty decent broth to be as steamboat.  Chicken meat is soft.nam yu fried chicken wing I see other table order Namyu Fried Chicken, and it seems looks good. Order along. Turns out to be better than expected as they use fresh chicken to fry. Skin is crispy, not too salty and well balance of namyu taste is there, yet not too overpowering.steamboat in kepongWe are ready to dig in.
special chili sauce I see other people making this sauce and I also follow along. Very simple. Just mix everything in the ingredients section. Just beware that their chili paid is very spicy. I am sure you will blow fire after eat it yet quite addictive. Its a  mixture of garlic, parsley, chili pady and Chives.

the Lemon Butter Cake is not too bad. moist enough to go as a while set .

KAPE 카페It is not located at the main road as you need to spot Baskin Robin, then side walk next to it. Not a bad cafe for Kepong people to hunt for or even cafe hop. Price is medium range.

Siew Kee Pork Noodle at Manjalara Kepong is one of the famous pork noodle in Kepong this neighborhood. After I posted in my stories only got to  know it is a few of my friends regular lunch place. I find that this is not your regular Pork Noodle soup place which is a bit unique. I find its a kind of combination of local x east malaysia like Sabah or Sarawak style.

pork noodle in kl

it is a simple comfort food and the store had been operating for more than 15 years already at the same location.

siew kei noodle house restaurant (3)Here are some of the sparer part for you to chose or you want all in like mine?

what to eat in kepongsiew kei noodle house restaurantFor soup base I find it normal, if you order bee hoon, the taste is covered up. Soup base taste could not taste as prominent as the dry seperate version.famous pork noodle in klSince I observe alot people order the dry noodle, I decided to try one portion for dry and another portion soup base.  Dry pork noodle – Koey Teow Mee with all pig spare part.

Soup base is great as  I tasted there is a hint of “chinese wine” or siew weng chow in the soup base that give its uniqueness. Pork parts are all cook to perfettion, soft part where it is needed. Missing out is pork intestine. then that would be perfect.

I find this pretty good. Noodle and gravy itself is on the sweet end with pig oil taste quite prominent.pork dry noodlepork noodle manjalara

Overall, I find it not too bad for a comfort food around the area. Do not mind to come back again as I want to try their Yee Mee Next. Is this the best? every one have their own preference taste. I find it quite worth to give it a try as not the usual ordinary style.

Hanam BBQ Menu

Hanam BBQ menu is very straight forward which is only a few pages. Mostltly focus on ala cart bbq meat and some sets.

Hanam BBQ (1)

This is their special side dish. Love their Kimchi as marinated well and have its own taste and texture. Serve with 4 different condiments and their signature is the leave (suddenly forgot what is the name).

Hanam BBQ (6)

There is some one there to assist on the grill meat to ensure you get the right texture and cook meat.

Hanam BBQ (7)

Hanam Korena BBQ Malaysia

This is one of their signature eating style. Korean BBQ meat wrap with their special seasoned leave. It is so good that taste abit of sourish yet the bbq taste is just perfect. A great combination with Soju at the side. Best!

United Point Aeon

Hanam BBQ (5)

Steam egg have to eat fast while the texture is soft and not over cook. Another trick is too scoop up fast.

Hanam BBQ (4)

Their Kimchi Stew is one of the best I have come across. Thick in soup base, yet aromatic, hint of sourish and spicy end. Kimchi veggie is soft and pork belly in it is whoolaa laaa.

Hanam BBQ

another nice Korean BBQ in KL to pay a visit. Currently it is quite packed and best advise to call in for reservation.

Other of my fav Korean BBQ:

    1. Qing He Gu– Uptown or Retail 163, Mont Kiara
