Ah Weng Koh Hainan Tea @ Imbi Market

Walk to next stall, I see so many kids and housewife waiting for this ‘Chinese Pancake’ or hokkien we called ‘Ban Chang Kuih’ or in malay they called it ‘Apam Balik’ (click here to view) , that homemade base of flour that will mix with their own creativity to make it delicious and top with lots of peanut, and some sugar. You can add in additional Corn (which I will never miss), egg and Malays stall they will add in butter.

For this version that this guy is selling, he is selling the big version and another type would be the thinner version which is cripsy inside out. click here

This is called 1 plate which I definately cannot finish by myself.

A big plate cut out will be 6 pieces.

I find that this stall has nothing much to shout about as I had better ones before.

I am a big fan of ‘Rice Dumpling’ or known in hokkien as ‘Bak Chang’ and I saw this stall selling nearby at the entrance I directly buy one to try. By so many choices available, my pick was this which is the most expensive among all RM10 for one and asked why at such a price is because what I chose was added ingredient, with pork meat, double duck egg yolk and chestnut.

With the taste that freshly steam till the rice is very sticky, lean pork meat with equal fats, atapchi and the salty duck egg yolk and dip with chili sauce is just nice. Maybe I miss the taste for very long time, that’s why it taste so good.

While walking towards the Hainanese stall, saw this ‘Apom’ which an old uncle is selling, he looks very old and just buy from him. Taste pretty good, as its crispy on the side and in the middle there’s egg in it. (more like indian version) RM0.50 each.

As most people blog about this place, this is the famous ‘Ah Weng Kok Hainan Tea’ that most people would not miss when they comes to this place. Flock with a lot of people and, many people are waiting for tables.

One of their signature drink that most people would recommend is this ‘Kopi’ as I love it in cold as its thick in coffee flavour yet not that sweet but I find out that the other glass taste really different as, its sweet with sugar syrup and the coffee taste is so light. RM1.70

Afterall, compare to this, we did had better taste of Kopi before at Kuchai Lama, the coffee shop behind Papa Rich.

Their famous ‘toast bread spread with Butter and Kaya’. RM1.30

Not to miss a perfect set of early breakfast which I was pretty full from all those food that I bought while walking here is also a pair of ‘Half Boil Egg’

Dipping in hot water till you feel time is right for you to take it out, the pair of colour would look like this, while add on with soy sauce and pepper, and finish it in one sip as I have to borrow from alliefoodtalk as I eat till forgot to take picture.

Remark: please make up your mind properly when ordering as the guy from the coffeeshop will scold you if you keep changing your order as they are sort handed and extremely busy.

A perfect Sunday to start off with for such a great breakfast outing. Total damage at the market with all the food was around RM16 for 2 person.

If you are an early person, and would love to have many food to choose from, Imbi market would be one of a good place to go for food as there are many hawker stalls there to choose from for such a cheap price, we got no complain for it, worth recommending.
