The Apartment Downtown @ KLCC

Guess what, one of the brand that some of us are quite familiar with and it had been quite a while since I last step into KLCC area and this round, The Apartment Downtown unveiled an exciting new look, that did really change my perception towards them. The new look is totally different from what I used to know or visit especially the one at The Curve. The new revamp look and feel sure do feature more into modern living of New York style. In this busy city, sometimes people would want to have a simple place to chill as where creating a restaurant “where dining out means coming home”  especially at night, diners could sit back and relax over a glass of bubbly with a scenic lake view.

Upstairs do have a nice view too as it overlook on the water fountain of KLCC whereby you can enjoy your meal with this simple view. In this new concept, certainly comes with new menu as its a mix of European and Asian mix together.

Chicken Liver Pate @ RM 22.90 – homemade chicken liver pate with port jelly serve with cornichons fresh arugula and rye toast.

Its a very interesting starter as pate is served chill and spread it with bread that make it smooth and its a pretty good combo. Worth to try.

Silky Scallops & Tofu @ RM 39.90 – scallops and roe baked with tofu, topped with soy-wasabi butter

Mini Pumpkin Soup @ RM 15.90 – creamy pumpkin soup flavored with a spicy coconut sambal and fresh lime. This would be one of a recommended dish as usually we just order the classic one as this, the chef cleverly play with flavour that make it very interesting, with very little spicy end yet with sourish bit.

If you like something healthy after work out, I find this dish is quite good and well balance. Oriental Sesame Beef Salad @ RM 29.90 – Salad of Roma and cherry tomatoes, cucumber, red chillies, mint leaves and sesame-soy vinegar with medium seared sirlion

Greek Mac and Cheese @ RM 30.90 – Macaroni in a creamy sauce served with a roe on scallops flavoured with smoked salt, Sarawak pepper and lemon.

Seafood Jambalaya @ RM 29.90 – herb rice with a spicy tomato sauce, fresh calamari, prawns, clams mussels and flaky white fish

Korean Braised Short RibsRM 35.90 – Beef Ribs braised with “gochujang” chilli-bean paste with diced potatoes, sesame coated carrots, spinach, pickled radish and rice.

Well marinated and cook to perfection as the meat is soft, tender and juicy, yet the gravy is aromatic and fragrance that makes it a perfect combo.

Greek Style Lamb Cutlets @ RM 70.90 – New Zealand lamb with Greek Yogurt, crumbed eggplant and roasted cherry tomatoes.

Lamb is cook to perfection yet their own homenade yogurt do pull up the taste to make it well balance with the lamb and mint. Cherry tomato to add the juiciness when you eat along. Pretty good combo if you combine 3 flavours together.

Moroccan Beef Burger  @ RM 36.90 – Moroccan spiced patty on toasted brioche bun stacked with tomato relish, beef bacon, arugula tomato, Portobello mushroom with a drizzle of mayonnaise and house creme fraiche with sweet potato with a side.

Eton Mess @ RM 15.90 – broken crips meringue with fresh strawberries topped with whipped cream and drizzled with strawberry coulis. This is one of the highlight for the night, as the girls went crazy, dipping and scooping non stop til it goes till the last drop.

Baked Chocolate Pudding @ RM 18.90 – chocolate pudding with a chocolate coffee ganache served with vanilla ice cream topped with chocolate hazelnut (15-20 minutes preparation time)

Basil Julep – Jameson, fresh basil and soda

South Side Royale – Champage, tequila, triple sec and mango (a perfect drink for girls as fragrant with mango, with mild bublly of champange and of course the more you drink, once the kick hit you will KO pretty fast)

Rosa Mae  – Gin, amaretto, black tea, lime and bitters

Southside Royale

Sparkling – Codorniu Clasico Brut

Wine – De Martino Estate Chardonnay

Herbal Gin & Tonic @ RM – Hendrick’s Gin, tonic, rosemary and orange

For the new menu and new drinks in the list, its all pretty interesting and sure do change my perception towards them. IF you are asking me where to get nice food around KLCC, currently this new renovated concept will be one of my recommended restaurant as their food is good and with nice ambiance too.
