I have been to Saujana Hotel for a few occasions from Wedding dinner, events and review and neither did I know hidden this new refurbish Chinese restaurant Ti Chen is actually hidden inside the Golf Club House itself. Hosting many private functions since its opening after the face lift, celebrations for it is not only once but twice this time around reintroducing their newly refurbished Chinese restaurant, Ti Chen back into the market.

With its rich red and black tones adorning the walls and furniture of this oriental eatery, Ti Chen has a lot more to offer. Assisting Ti Chen in retaining its stature and reputation are two new chefs, Chef Lai Chong Seng and Dim Sum Chef Yau Kim Yew.

I love the new ambiance of this restaurant, not only love at first sight as its a total dimension from the exterior out from this restaurant as you walk in you are flank with the modern Chinese yet with classic touch of it. A simple concept that you can blend in comfortably . .

The restaurant can be divided into many sections, even for private dining that they do have huge wooden panel to block it off, unique of all they have see thru curtain to make it more elegant and separation between rooms.

Since its refurbishment, had attracted many wedding dinner to be hosted here that can easily fill maximum 25-30 tables.

Staging with Chinese lantern make up the ambiance even better.

A simple conversation flow between the manager and the rest of us then we are greeted with chef signature dish, coming up with Roasted Duck and Mandarin Orange Salad with Wafu Dressing.

Carefully chop duck meat with slightly crispy skin along top with some sesame seed along with wafu dressing make it a simple dish along with lots of greens with fragrant to start off with.

Steamed Cod with Preserved  Radish. Cod is nicely cut into a slab, then sitting on top of bean spout, as chef creation to make this dish a slight cripsy when you eat along with bean sprout. I always love this simple dish with soy base.

Top dish in my list for the night is Prawn and Scallop with Green Ginger Puree. Purer are place on top of the scallop then steam along that make the taste blend in very well and freshness of both succulent prawn and scallop just make it awesome. Chewy texture from both seafood,  seafood will make this dish pair very well with rice.

Appear next is Homemade Beancurd with Crab Meat and Pumpkin Puree. Creamy pumpkin  flooding the whole plate with fresh crab meat, Shimeji mushroom and edamame that top along with deep fried tofu below is something many people would go for unless they do not take beancurd.

With a few dishes being serve, comes along Special Wok Fried Rice with Tobiko and Crispy Beancurd Skin is one of my favourite too. Filled with wok hei and every mouthfull is fill with slight burst of tobiko make it a perfect dish yet pair along the the dishes above is just perfect. Good enough to be satisfied.

The dinner ended in satisfaction when Sea Bird’s Nest with Aloe Vera in Longan Syrup is serve upon. First time learning this new fact that the marine plant is rich in enzyme nutrients, collagen and mineral substances, calcium, magnesium, iron, potassium, phosphorus, sodium and multitude fibers and jelly form proteins. It has to be cook in this way to preserve the mineral of it. Texture is chewy with slightly crunchy. Refreshing sweetness of the soup base from longan make it a satisfying ending.

Then we only found out that Chef Lai is from Penang, instantly the whole conversation converted to Hokkien. Its just a switch of language when usually found out kaki lang. :p Chef Lai with his vast experience of 19 years and overseas then found himself establishing  in Cantonese and Szechuan cuisine, and wonders of taste he can do with Chinese food without using pork.

Besides that, also found out that Chef Lai is good in cooking homecook meal with his collection of recepies along the way.

Comes to near weekend, mostly alot people will go for bar hunting or hopping, but there is one of a new club popping out in PJ area. Good for me as its not too far from my office and I am actually quite surprise to find out that there is actually a club there. Overshadow by huge building of Club Pallazo operating at ground floor with huge sign board and Sensus Club is operating on the first floor. They do offer Jockey parking. Parking might be limited but for night crowd certainly easy to get a spot.

As walk up the club only found out that its a huge space that they are operating that have a few sections to explore.

First pool session area. . .

Bar area is pretty cool as the light on the bar counter keep changing  . ..

You can get your favourite draft beer at their suprsingly good happy hour rate. . .

Live band and most of the night and its not bad. . .

DJ deck area is huge ..

I found a spot that I would prefer to hang out and chill a very hidden space yet comfy to sit it and enjoy . .

Mojito for the night, strong in alcohol filled with mint after taste.

Graveyard. . . The manager so look up on me and give me his special version of graveyard. .  extra strong and 2 glass of this enough to KO me . .

Follow by next drink Screwdriver .. Also the manager specialty .  Strong, yet just nice for you if you need something hard for the night.

Follow by tequila shots.

One thing I like about this place is their friendly staff and their service is pretty good. . .

On the 3rd of November a sensational culmination took place at the Malaysia International Exhibition and Convention Centre making the trilogy ended with a big bang. The Global Art of Mixing Trilogy is the event that took place on the day that I have been always looking forward for this event and never miss it for the past 3 years. Its a event with an extraordinary mix of stellar musical acts from across the globe, a trademark H-Artistry atmosphere along with their signature drink.

It was a rainy day and it never stop all party people from flocking this place. I am surprise that this year, many people are early. This year the surely have slightly different set up compare to last year and forgive me, I forgot to take picture on their best service of all is they are subsidicing taxi service for party goers which I am totally impress.

After walking out the photo booth area, I am like Whoaaaa. .  Hennessy Art of Mixing Zone is so packed~ Never knew that so many people came this early and found out that the main arena actually have not open to public yet and every one is here drinking and mingling.

Nowdays girls are picking up DJ-ing and its so coool . ..

Usually people will kill of their thirst at the counter first . .

best part of all is their 360 degree cam. This round I decided to skip cuz the queue is so long.

Then main arena open for access and one thing I am stunned for a moment is the stage with 4 frontage. I am totally amazed! We are shifted here as the act is starting soon .. .

Love my spot with perfect view of the stage and I love those waiter and waitress that night keep serving alcohol to us till no place to put any more cups. They are so nice that once see our empty glass and replace for us. They also know what we drink.. Wkakakaka. . .Auto refill mode on at my table. .

Nicole is the early bird that reach the area and happy to see her around.. a person that really hard to date. .

Caroline is the person who always come to event early sit and rare gold fish for the rest of the night. This round she with her best friend Nicole also.

At the stroke of 10pm, the crowd quickly shifted into the party arena, and energy levels were pumping in sync with the crowd’s excitement, shrill screams of the female K-Pop fans in the crowd were Block B, who immediately broke into song and dance with their infectious track “Nilili Mambo”.

Showcased their rap, vocals and dance prowess to put on a stellar demonstration of the quality and showmanship of K-Pop music is.

As Block B bowed out, the next artist to take the stage was Alexandra Burke, who immediately stamped her vocal authority as the prima donna of the night. Among the highlights of Alexandra Burke’s performance were live renditions of “Heartbreak on Hold”, “Elephant”, and her hit track “Bad Boys”, featuring Flo Rida. However, the crowd exploded in exhiliration when Alexandra Burke invited Block B up on stage for an exclusive H-Artistry collaboration.

Along some other performance, I am seeing more and more familiar faces arriving the scene with Samantha . . .

We even crack a joke to people that main bar is giving away and there are actually people went to ask for it. :d

Then Evvone found her best friend and found out that actually P zone is more happening and we shifted down and only head back to my table when need drinks .. kekke~

As the night flowing, with more act and performance coming up only set back is I have to leave early for my next day early photoshoot. This is the first time I walk away from this scene walking straight.

This year H-Artistry finale is just awesome and they really never fail to impress with this amazing stage and they have set themself a great new height to us for party goer and I really love the staging. Cool friends, best friends, new friends in this party scene, what can I expect for? Only one thing, Looking forward for more in year 2013. :p

In the end we took their taxi service and price reasonable reasonable as heading back to friends place at rate at Old Klang Road for RM 38 if I am not mistaken, without fear of getting drunk and stop by road block .:p

Party, concert, Party and concert is usally what being line up and filled up for year end calender. After great party now here comes upcoming Latino Queen ready to make a huge storm to KL fans. Are you gear up to shake your booty all night long? I am pretty sure you guys do remember one of her top songs over the years such as Jenny from the Block, Let’s Get Loud, I’am Real and with her successive record over the years that, she is listed as the most influential Hispanic performer in the United States. Chicken rice is a very common food in our country. I am sure every one do have their very particular chicken rice stall including my best friend Ken. I found out that whenever his favourite stall is, its sure sardin pack, well hidden and of course expensive. Well, Restaurant Choon Yien or known as James Chicken Rice is no stranger to many foodie and despite I work nearby I did not know this place is famous for chicken rice till my friend curse me how could I not know. .

For most of famous place there are only 2 types of service you getting. One is super good or excellent near to first class service or another type is bad. This place certainly fell to errrr .. . Special case. This place is very well known for the boss being very ” lansi ” (snobbish) as he will scold his customer if :

1) they do not order properly

2) no patience you can leave

3) Please wait your turn

4) Please do not double order as I am still young and have good memory. You will make my process line Jam

the list goes on. Most customers will turn off or just walk away when the cook or server is like that but this place is very unique as despite people being scold including you are DATO, Tan Sri or who every is still same treatment yet keep coming as you can see branded cars park nearby.

Here comes our order, as the rice is fragrant. . .

Salted, spicy sour vegie soup is well balance with sourness of veggie that do not overpower the dry chili and asam skin cook along to tone it down. Nice~

I cannot deny that this stall here definately have one of the best char siew with lean meat being cut in between and can you see the balance of fat in between the meat is just as I love it. Caramelize edge with slightly burnt is something that I enjoy alot~ Recommended!

Chicken meat is pretty decent as what makes it good is the soy sauce base that the chicken had roast then soak along that make it good. Mix with its fragrant rice is just perfect not to miss their own chicken rice chili which is not too spicy and little sourish end is just the right combination.

Chicken rice is cheap in most kopitiam but not this stall. Total damage per head on that day is RM20 and being price at that way, it had shot up to first spot in my list for being the most expensive Chicken Rice stall.

You have to reach here early as stuff here sold out pretty fast. Best advise reach before 12.30pm and Char SIew is very limited per day. Most of them call in to reserve!

Remark: is it best advise not to visit here if you do not have the patience or got scolded by James. That is how he is~
