Famous Nasi Lemak at Big Tree Head Mamak @ Kepong

Nasi Lemak is one of a staple food for Malaysians. It can be eaten anytime any where. Another of my favorite joint in Kepong is this place – Big Tree Head Mamak which next to the location of Famous Sunday Pasar Malam. Good news is that I do not need to drive all the way to PJ for my favourite nasi lemak.

It is hard for you to miss them as, all the trees are lighted up and you can see a sea of red tables.

One of their well known item is Rojak, but I find it not bad as I had better peanut gravy before but at this supper hour, they are consider decent enough.

Because of demand, most of their chicken are freshly fried.

My usual would be their Nasi Lemak + Mata Kerbau + fried drumstick @ RM 8.50

Rice is mild fragrant, where it is just nice for night palate, and their chicken is perfecttly cook where skin is crispy, meat is well marinated with some spices taste in it. Best of all is their sambal – slightly sweet and spicy end. Their sambal here is like a luxury item. Any additional add on, they always give you a very small plate that I ended up asked a 3-4 rounds. Constantly got the cockstare! Trick to go around is to ask for different macha.

This is my new discovery as, there is this fried radish or known as carrot cake food truck which sits just a few steps away from their stall and right at the traffic light corner. The way he fried and the colour of it looks decent.

For a Rm 4.50 plate of fried carrot cake, this is certainly emerge one of the best in my list to try for. Filled with woke hei, and each piece of the fried carrot cake is fried evenly that have a little cripsy edge on it. Dip with his homecook chili is a bomb. This stall certainly mark as one of a recommended place! Best of all, its just next to the nasi lemak.

Its a great place to dine for where I can enjoy two items at one place.
