Lucy Fried Pan Mee @ Happy Garden

I have drive pass this place numerous time and constantly ask why is there such a place in the housing area, only then found out that Lucy Fried Pan Mee actually is one of a hidden gem in this neighborhood (Happy Garden or the verge of Kuchai Lama) where they serve great Fried Pan Mee – quite a unique dish. If you are sick of modern food, then back to basic where this staple food will impress you. Used to cook by the mom where found out that she is ill at the moment and took over by her son.

Do have patience to wait for this uncle to cook as he might be slow where I suspect he have Parkinson Disease with his prominent symptoms – shaky hand.

Their menu is in Chinese and I do not know how to read, so ask the uncle to introduce.. Then we order their classic dish are both Pan Mee Soup and Fried Pan Mee.

I am in love with his texture of noodle which is so soft, slightly chewy and the texture is so smooth. By looking at the dough when he rolls it, knew that the noodle is gonna be amazing. Soup base is clear soup with mild flavoured broth that he cook in the morning to get the bones flavour out, and to make it sweet, he uses some Chinese Cabbage.

Their fried version is their signature where is consider one of a pretty rare dish, with many perception that Pan mee have to be in soupy base. However their Fried Pan Mee is fried with wok hei, noodle is springy and sweet and saltiness from their dark soy sauce is well balance. Adding in anchovies to give you the crunchy salty taste. Best of all do add in their homemade chili. I added 2 into my noodle to give you extra kick of spiciness. AWESOME!

According to the uncle best friend where he sat down with us and chit chat further, all the ingredients are bought fresh from the market in early morning, will then cook the broth fresh for a few hours till the aroma is out and only start operating from 10am – 3pm only.

For this place, if you like homecook version, this is certainly one of the place to be.

Total damage is RM 16 with 1 100 Plus.
