Macallum Connoisseurs @ Gat Lebuh Macallum, Penang.

During Chinese New Year, this cafe Macallum Connoisseurs is the one of the latest hype in Penang. This place used to be a factory and now it had converted into cafe that mark them as the first warehouse cafe kind in Penang.

This is not only a cafe as they are a coffee roasters and also they have academy for barista.

Ample of seating but during this CNY, they have crazy business and crowd. Average food waiting time is 1 hour.

So I pick a place to be seated at the bar as that is the least hunted space among the customers.

Variety of cakes to hunt for too.

This is their roasters room and you can order coffee beans from them.

Order their latte as quite love the simple aromatic coffee taste with mild caramelise end. Less robust and mild acidity to my liking. @ RM 10

Tried one of their signature as the description capture my attention. Macallum’s Coffee Spaghetti – topped with chorizo, herbs and Macallums creamy coffee dressing.

Serve in pretty small portion @ RM 18, no hint of coffee taste but overall, taste is pretty decent that spaghetti is cook to al dante, sausage is cook to perfect.

Grilled Salmon fillet is decorate with a bed of asparagus is price estimated at RM28 which do cost a bomb for small piece of salmon and just this. Salmon cook to my liking and dressing balsamic onion on top is pretty good. (when the menu mention baby carrot – there is no where to be found in this plate)

Overall, I find food here is expensive for their price and portion served. Coffee is pretty good to my liking. If you do visit here in the afternoon, do get ready to drench in sweat as its huge place, high ceiling yet their structure is build without proper heat prevention from their roof.

IF you do come at night, it would be just nice. Another great place to hang out. Parking here can be a pain in the ass, as quite limited if its full house. Alternative do park at the temple next door.
