Mork Chocolate Brew House @ North Melbourne

During my studies at Melbourne, the hype of chocolatier and chocolate drink series boils down to only 2 shop, Koko Black & Max Brenner. Mork Chocolate Brew House

This round during my visit, my friend brought me to this newly joint which currently stand high in her list for one of a best chocolate drink. Not only that, as I have learnt that they are serving one of the best chocolate at the moment in Melbourne and also supplies to many cafe’s out there.

For this, you need to leave your coffee taste bud and head to Mork Chocolate Brew House, which located at North Melbourne that sits in like one of a abandoned warehouse lot that is facing directly with a famous brunch place opposite them which is known as Auction Room.

Pure Handcrafted Chocolate Blends

Mörk Chocolate Brew House in North Melbourne is serving a bean-to-cup chocolate experience, so leave your coffee cravings at the door.

Brewing in Melbourne is synonymous with coffee or beer, but there’s a new brewer in town. After three years of supplying Melbourne cafes, local chocolate supplier Mörk Chocolate has opened its concept store and brew house in North Melbourne.

Co-founders and partners Josefin Zernell and Kiril Shaginov come from a specialty coffee background, but the brew house is all about chocolate reigning supreme – in fact, you won’t find a coffee bean in sight. “Chocolate is similar to coffee. It has classifications, varieties, single origins,” says Zernell, whose focus has now shifted to specialty hot chocolate.

The experience is designed to remind patrons of their childhoods. “I want people to come here with curiosity and to feel intrigued,” Zernell says. Shaginov agrees that they’re trying to bring out the playfulness of chocolate. “Everything we do takes you back to when you were a kid,” he says.

The menu offers small savoury items such as a Gruyère scroll, but all the food is designed to complement, and bring the focus back to, the chocolate.

Stepping into the shop,  you will be see their signature series of chocolate on the shelf, for you to purchase.

Love how they design the counter where the two bronze tap is for their milk frothing.

In the menu, it is filled with their signature chocolate series and also other inventive beverages include a Chocolate Soda and also learn that they have single-origin Madagascan milk chocolate and the richer Layered Chocolate, with chilled dark chocolate topped with vanilla and orange Crema Catalana.

Some patisseries for you to hunt for.

Their specialty chocolate series.

I love their soda water which is infuse with fresh vanilla beans. Simply refreshing.

In the menu, this caught my attention the most. Campfire Chocolate @ Aud 8 – Hot chocolate, beechwood smoked and toasted marshmallow with sea salt (avail dine in only).

Love the smokiness of the smell and upon serving, you have to turn the smoke glass and pour the chocolate drink into the little mug.

The flavours will then mix and blend into the chocolate. Very interesting flavour as smoke chocolate. To make it more interesting, add on the sea salt and also marshmallow to give a good mixture of taste blend.

For their classic chocolate series, my friend ordered Junior Dark @ Aud 5 (50%cacao). Simple and light in taste. Definitely one of the better ones.

Oh well, for this chocolate concept boutique is definately worth a visit. There are limited seating space in this cafe which is only 18 seats only. So try your luck.

Thanks to Jessy for bringing me here and a few other locations. 🙂
