Restaurant Chong Jing @ Kuchai Lama

Double K bring me on a mission again which we were out and do now know what to makan and one of them suggested Kuchai Lama la..then we directly go there and round and round thinking what to it. To much of Kenji frustration then he decided to park and head into this shop. I was trying to find info about this shop but most of it are for Kepong branch, so I guess I will blog on this branch then. This is the first time I find miserable on writing a blog which is the receipt were type in Mandarin. Sei loh…

Not a very hard place to find since they have eye catching sign board.

In the menu, there is not much choices given which is either this or that or that. The stim part it, a few dish that we chose is on seasonal. So tarak, lagi left the choice even more little. So ordered ‘Spicy Pai Kuat’ RM29.90.
I would say honestly, is it not as spicy as the shop or my friend mention as I did tried something even much more spicy than this. The pai kuat had been cook to softness but just by eating the dry pot like dat is very oily, yet the taste is a bit weird or the chilli paste and ingredient that they are using just taste diff. Eat it with rice given is even more dry.

Next is the ‘Spicy Fish Head’ for RM32.80 which had been normally pre-fried and just boiled and cook along in it, again the taste of the chilli paste doesn’t match the fish in the pot. I just didn’t like it.

After you finish the main meal, then you can request them to add in some soup base water or tomyam to continue for second round which is steamboat style. Can just choose any of the dish to add into on the fridge. The petroleum jelly that they were using to burn on it just take ages for it to get to the boiling point till we request to take this whole pot to the kitchen and boil which just takes a few minutes and its at boiling bubbling point.

Again, the soup base taste weird also, do not have the tomyam taste that we always drink or the chilli or Ma Lat base.

Even the whole steamboat dish that poured in, I still don really like it. Never know how to enjoy this meal.
This shop, just not my taste. Total bill charge at RM88.30 for 5 which I feel very expensive. Fat chance of revisiting.
