Authentic Italian Food, Senja Restaurant @ Saujana Hotel

Fresh bread of the day which is home made, that it is soft and dip with olive oil and vinegar, with a bit of touch of mayo tatse good.

This is a bottle of chili oil – the purpose of it is to add it onto the pizza.

Most of us would love our pizza to be added mouthfull of ingredient but the authentic Pizza Margherita (Tomato and fresh mozarella) was serve hot and the waiter pour around of chili oil onto it that makes us feel very weird but suprisingly the taste turns out to be awesome. Something simple yet aromatic and the chili oil adds on the kick of it.

Pizza Quattro Formaggi (Mozzarella, gorgonzola, emmenthal and provolone)

Before this pizza was serve, I can smell a strong scent from far and it smells like blue cheeze, until it was place down, the smell become more visible and it is pizza that add on with blue cheeze. For some people that do not like this, surely you will find it uncomfortable but the taste of the pizza is just as good as it look.

This is the set of wine that we got for the night.

Insalata di Mare dell’ Adriatico (Adriatic Seafood Salad)

A starter that made with mussel, shrimp, bits of calamari and served with a piece of fried cheese on the side that makes it simple and nice to start off with, I pair it with Prosecco Di Valdobbiadene and I am just loving it.

Usually people that sing in the background from table to table upon song request is only what I seen on drama series but tonight we were really pampered with a group of great singers from Philippines that steal the whole scene for the night.

They were very energetic and can portray alot of great expression and surely they suprise us that they can sing in alot of languages, from Italian, Mandarin, Cantonese, Malay and many classic songs that makes the whole ambience so romantic.

When the mains about to be serve, we were shown with another great wine Sangiovese 2007. Among all the reds, my preference for the night would be this bottle, as it is a bit think if taste, smooth and dry at the end.

Risotto alla Milanese (Saffron Milanese Risotto)

That was cook abit creamy and thick in flavour, risotto was cook till very soft and aromatic.

Linguine Mellegusti (Linguine with cream bolognese and fresh herbs)

This would be one of the best authentic linguine that I have come accross. Linguine was handmade that makes it different from others, it is a bit thicker compare to others but the texture of linguine is a bit springy and soft that was cook evenly and well coated with mince meat.

Rigatoni Alla Norma (Rigatoni pasta with eggplant, ricotta and tomato)

Branzino Scottato Servito su Pure’ di Piselli e Salsa All’ Arancio (Pan fry sea bass with green pea and orange juice)

Sea bass was perfectly pan fried and it was fresh.

Classico Tiramisu

Desert when comes to Tiramisu, it is always top in my list that I would rarely miss. I just love how soft the ladyfingers placed at the bottom and Mascarpone cheese is very aromatic, just as I like it that makes it one of the best tiramisu.

To end the dinner, we were shown with last red wine Ruffino, Chianti 2008 which is more to a sweet red wine.

If you are looking for authentic Italian taste more like a homecook base it that would be in my recommendation list, then Senja Restaurant is the one you are looking for with price starting from RM40++
