Tai Tau (Big Head) Steamboat @ Bandar Menjalara, Kepong

I am a steamboat lover and for once we accidentally found this place as in Bandar Menjalara, Kepong that fit alot of food in this area as there are one particular street, its filled with alot of steamboat restaurant that make you amaze over it. One of the reason as there are easily more than half dozen restaurant that operates here and all of them have their own crowd and its constantly full house.

So we decided to try out this Tai Tau (Big Head) Steamboat as many comments in Foursquare mentioning this is pretty good. Craving for something spicy too as this restaurant offer Ma Lat Steamboat soup.

Its more like a very kopitiam style with nicer table cloth that put on top to make it more presentable. Service here is pretty good as most of the waiter are quite attentive.

Do note that upon seating down, most of them will offer you their set meal. After taking in I decided to go ala-carte as most of the item in the set I do not really like but its a great deal. If I am not mistaken its around Rm 25-Rm40 for 2 pax.

Their menu is pretty interesting as they are shown in name card folder and all the pictures are in there. Price are quite reasonable.

Chicken wings is many of this steamboat area is a signature and its bbq to perfection. Their chili sauce is pretty good too. A must order if you are here.

Of course for a typical Malaysians, we want variety. We order their Ma Lat and original soup. Both are equally good as Ma Lat is up to my expectation, spicy enough to make you sightly numb and their original soup is with herbal soup base that turns out to be good, sweet and aromatic. Perfect combo.

Total Bill came up to bout Rm 70 with ala carte for 2 of us. Find it pretty alright as we did order alot. Best things is we saw a family next to us tapau their own veggie in a big black bag. Whenever the waiter is not around they filled it in themselves. That’s unique!

If you are in this area, I guess Tai Tau is one of a steamboat place to recommend as I have yet to try others yet.
