A Taste of Hong Kong with Celebrity Luk Ho Ming is brought to you by Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC). The aim of this is to promote and highlight Hong Kong’s vibrant and unique lifestyle in HKTDC is hosting its third edition of In Style Hong Kong in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 7th and 8th of November 2017.

As we Malaysians are pretty well known for our love towards food as this is how we are being recommended to enjoy and witness the Cantonese Food together with Canton – I and Celebrity Host Luk Ho Ming. Next few months, we will witness a series of sales promotion through pop – up stores, on ground promotions, and in store activities highlighting Hong Kong lifestyle elements such as design – led products, trendy fashion and culinary experiences with special offers from selected restaurants.

This Hong Kong TV personality is better known by his TV alias “Six Six Six”. Currently under the contract with Hong Kong TVB, Luk had hosted a number of Food and Variety shows on different television networks such as TVB jade, J2, and TVB Network Vision. And his more recent collaboration with “Fat Mum: where he is the co-host with Maria Cordero on a popular food programme called “Good Cheap Eats”

Double boiled honey fig soup with sea whelk and pork lean meat (无花果响螺燉猪展)

I am a big fan of any double boil soup. Usually with soup lover, they are being mention as the typical Chinese Guy. For this pot, it is filled with Fig is a calcium-rich food and a good source of fiber that has high content of antioxidant level. For its better nourishing soup, it is also an excellent source of essential fatty acids. Sea whelk and the high protein pork lean meat, provides lots of benefit to the body. I do not mind to drink 3 bowl of this.

Slowed cooked dragon garoupa fillet

This Cantonese delicacy is inspired by the Guangdong region of China. The Dragon Garoupa has silky smooth and soft texture which is best-to-serve in any cooking method, because of its non-fishy scent. To improve its flavor, wolfberries are added as a natural “sweetener” to bring out the refreshing, sweet taste while providing good nutrients to the body. The taste of the dish is enhanced as the crunchy texture of celery suits perfectly with the soft and smooth texture of the fish.

Double boiled coconut with natural peach resin soup and almond (慢煮沙巴龙虎班球)

Coconut is a nutritious source of fiber, vitamins, minerals and amino acids which hydrates the body. The smooth and sweet taste is coupled with the nourishing peach resin that is a commonly known as a food rich in collagen. It is the natural resin secreted from the peach tree, formed in amber like crystals on the tree. It also contains almost the same nutrient content as bird’s nest. The peach resin slurps in every mouthful and the hints of coconut which is not overly sweet makes the sweet soup tastes even better.

As for a Celebrity, he is indeed down to earth and humble yet very engaging. *Thumbs up.

Double Boiled Coconut with Natural Peach Resin Soup and Almond (椰皇桃胶蛋白杏仁茶) This dessert gives you good ending, love the fragrance of almond which is not too strong with chunky egg whites and chunky peach resin.
