Kesom @ Aman Suria, PJ

To me, Aman Suria is known to me with one of my favorite restaurant at this place which is Betty Midwest Kitchen. Was hunting for some Halal food recently and found this via Instagram. Kesom is known as one of the hidden gem in this area, as they attracted many regulars.

At first it was pretty hard to locate this place as they do not have prominent signage, as you can see in the picture, the outlet name is nearly block by the mini tree. This outlet serve homemade Kelantanese food like nasi kerabu and nasi dagang.

Background of Kesom from the founders are pretty interesting though as one of the owner owns pretty well know fashion brand Blook and that is why you have the Book Warehouse signage abouve the outlet as that is their main office.

Upon walking in, you will be greeted with warm welcome by the staff and quite love this little outlet. Its small yet cosy. Something very simple. Lunch time is pretty pack though.

Food choices are pretty direct as there are a few in the menu for you to choose from.

It seems that Pulut Inti is also one of their signature but I did not try on that day.

Upon ordering, the owner did sence that what I am going to ask and she quickly introduce both of her signature drink which is Apa Pun Ada @RM2.50, which is definately a refreshing drink and I would certainly recommend as its punch with serai, pandan, asam boi & mint and of course tea. Next is their Lemon Grass.

Here comes the main order as Kesom’s Nasi Kerabu @ RM10.90 is served with blue-tinged basmati rice, and serve with sides such as pickles, ulam, fish crackers, salted duck egg, sambal belacan and others. To eat this, you have to mix all the ingredients on the serving plate and every single bite will comes with a punch.

As for second choice, I was ordering Nasi Dagang @ RM10.90, that served with delicious brown rice steamed with coconut milk & herbs, served with hard-boiled egg. Texture of rice is not too dry, yet abit grainy. Very interesting in taste.

Gulai Ikan was the recommendation of the owner as the taste of the gravy is very mild santan, slightly sour spicy end and I love the gravy when add onto the brown rice.

Love the size of the chicken as I find it pretty huge for such a place to serve in this portion. This certainly pair with NAsi Kerabu perfectly. Gravy is mild enough to uplift the flavour both the rice and curry. Chicken is moist and soft.

If you are craving for some nice Kelantanese food, I would suggest you can pay a visit to this outlet and certainly my recommendation would be Nasi Kerabu.
