It has been a while since last posteda bout street food and to share with all of you, one of my usual favourite to go place during night street food is at Wai Sek Kai SS2. Plenty of pretty decent food, not the best but comfort food there. Stall no. 8 ,9 and 10 is the usual stalls that I would order. Stall no.8 has the Best Chinese Fried Indian Noodle.

A kind of taste which is quite nostalgic for me, quite Penang style cuz this is run by Penang family over 30 years already, I aslo started to eat this stall since I studied in KL many moons ago.

They are one more consistency for its Fried rice, char Koey teow and even Chiense Indian Fried noodle. Love their fried noodle, as they have their own special gravy that cook along, fried till abit moist to dry, hint of sweet end, mild spicy, and its just a perfect place

A Perfect place for simple nice food. At times there are hit and misses, overall its still good.

One of a cafe that making its hype over the past few months for its cakes and coffee is this Kooky Cream located in The Hub, SS2. This area is like a new F&B hub that is booming with many eateries and bar.

For a cup of hot Latte @ RM 9, is indeed a pretty good value buy

Solomen (10)

Gyoza (6pcs) @ RM11.90 Nicely pan fried at the base to give a little crips and home made mince pork base is good.  Ton katsu (deep fried pork chop) must dip with their special sweet sauce. @ RM20.90

Solomen (11)

Hoikoro is the pork belly slice, especially perfect to pair with a bowl of rice. RM 16.90

Solomen (12)

Solomen (13)

For a slight change of taste, then you can hit onto their fusion Kimchi Ramen @ RM 19.90

Solomen (14)

Their Signature is Tonkotsu Ramen with a slight twist where they add in some salted veggie into it to give a sourish saltiness to its pork bone soup base @ RM20.90

Solomen (15)

Solomen (16)

I would prefer their Negi Miso Ramen @ RM20.90 as the love the miso paste salted flavour.

Solomen (17)

hokkaido butadon @ RM 22.90

Solomen (18)

Among the don, I like their shiogayaki don @ RM 21.50. Love the mix egg ontop of crispy fried pork cutlet.

Solomen (20)

For closure of the meal, we are keen to try on their cakes and Tiramisu @ RM11.90 & Cempedak Lover @ RM 13.90. Cempedak is the clear winner where the punch of cempedak flesh and taste is there also did not overpower the chocolate along. I do not mind to have 3 slices of it to pair with their coffee.

Solomen (21)

Not a bad cafe for hangout and also enjoy some food. First timer, I would suggest on their Gyoza, Signature Tonkatsu Ramen and Cempedak Cake.

Back to basic, where this was a random hunt that I brought my ex colleague back to a place that I constantly used to crave for my fried fritters or this famous Goreng Pisang. This little food truck that sits right infront of Pelita SS2, is one one of a stall that you would love to hunt for simple snacks. Being around for quite a while and now her son is assisting in continuing the business.

ss2 goreng pisang (1)

Constantly pack with people, where queue were rather fast, as 2 auntie are taking care on their own station to serve customers. Price per piece is ranging from RM 0.80 – RM 2.50 (depending of the fresh produce for the season)

ss2 goreng pisang (2)

ss2 goreng pisang (3)

These are all classic snacks that I used to eat alot when I was at Penang and its hard to find a nice stall in KL. I find this quite suitable to my liking.

ss2 goreng pisang (4)

ss2 goreng pisang (5)

I love this alot, as this homemade potato kuih have the nice fragrant that I used to miss. Soft and aromatic.

ss2 goreng pisang (6)

What to hunt for in this stall is their usual fried banana fritters, their potato kuih, Kuih kodok, and any of your favourite that you can just pick from the basket.

Read Vkeong’s review for his recommendation on Hong Kong noodle that located at one of my favorite kopitiam that previously known as Ho Ho Sek at Chow Yang, SS2 which now had changed hands to Restaurant WDS. Hosting back many of previous hawker stall and one new player that stood more prominent that the others is this Hong Kong Wantan Noodle (香港鲜虾皇) .

Restaurant WDS (1)

Restaurant WDS (3)

Restaurant WDS (5)

The main chef, Vincent used to work in a famous local HK restaurant chain before he decided to venture out on his own. You will get to see him at the stall as he is the main person that prepares you all the ingredients.

Restaurant WDS (6)

Restaurant WDS not only host one stall as they have many variety of stall for you to hunt for, especially right the furthest behind, there is this one stall is well known for their Sang Har Mee which you can see many people order or their Cantonese Ying Yeong.

Restaurant WDS (7)

If you come here during 12pm-2pm, do expect a mad rush of table hunting. This is when all the workers of offices nearby are here to hunt for their favourite.

Restaurant WDS (10)

Their Kopi Kau indeed is a coffee to go after. Pack with local coffee flavor and thick. (only Kauz)

Restaurant WDS (9)

Popiah is decent enough.

Restaurant WDS (11)

Char Koey Teow is one of the well known one in the coffee shop where you can see alot of old folks are ordering it. Indeed its a great plate of CKT where filled with wok hei and decent big prawns and alot of cockles. @ RM 8

Restaurant WDS (12)

Here comes the WanTon noodle where we ordered both dry and soup (where it is the recommended ones) . Love the texture of noodle where it is springy to my liking and also found out that the noodle used here is made according to their specification with 100% duck egg only, which explains the naturally occurring yellow than usual color and do not have ‘kansui’ taste. Add on their char siew for my usual order and it is not the best but good enough for my noodle. RM 7 – RM 10 per bowl – depending what ingredient you add in.

Restaurant WDS (13)

Restaurant WDS (14)

Find that their soup base is good enough where it is pack with clear soup flavour as it need.

Restaurant WDS (15)

Love their Wonton, as it is big enough and generous in ingredients also have a decent size prawn in it.

Restaurant WDS (16)

Restaurant WDS (17)

Last we ordered a Curry Mee end our meal, where the look is quite lemak in curry and pack with curry leaves flavour. Top with alot of cockles.

After took over by the new owner, this kopitiam or coffeeshop still have its vibe with many good hawker stalls. Still one of a good hawker center to come after!
