French cuisine always give us the perception that they are classy dining. There is this French Bistro that sits in between where they are same team behind the successful French fine dining Maison Francaise restaurant. This is one of their latest concept that sits at The Row, Jalan Doraisamy is this 2Ox French Bistro or some put it as Two OX French Bistro.
10 years ago, this place is one of the hottest night spot area known as “Asian Heritage Row”. With new revamp, now this stretch is called The Row where now house independent shops, cafes, bars and co-working space are situated.
Love the interior of this restaurant that gives you a spacious dining area, yet it is modern with classic touch.

This is one of their latest menu where we kick start with :
Roasted Beetroot salad with Fourme d’Ambert cheese, green apple, candied walnuts. Indeed the culinary skills is amazing, where beetroot is cut paper thin slices that makes the whole presentation looks like a Spanish ham dish. Love the flavour as it have combination of different elements, and crunchy texture (from apple and walnut)
This combination is quite interesting as Warm Beef Salad with lentils and fennel, horseradish cream. The lentils brings the softness of the marination flavour that pairs uniquely with fennel along the horseradish cream mild it down.
As this dish do looks like healthy dish as Butternut squash barley pearl risotto with squid and spicy chicken sausage. Barley cook to perfection as it has the chewy texture yet still did not overcook it. Squid add the nice chewy texture along with barley and the thin slice of cheese enhance the flavour with little hint of saltiness it needed.
Chicken ballotine is sous vide and add with Parisan gnocchis, mushrooms and light gravy at the side.
Meringue lemon tart is a simple dessert to end with but it is satisfying. Crust is crisp to my liking, with the lemon cream base nice enough to hit onto my palate to give a mild numb. Can pay a visit if you are looking for a nice French restaurant in KL to celebrate some occasions.
