Siew Kee Pork Noodle at Manjalara Kepong is one of the famous pork noodle in Kepong this neighborhood. After I posted in my stories only got to  know it is a few of my friends regular lunch place. I find that this is not your regular Pork Noodle soup place which is a bit unique. I find its a kind of combination of local x east malaysia like Sabah or Sarawak style.

pork noodle in kl

it is a simple comfort food and the store had been operating for more than 15 years already at the same location.

siew kei noodle house restaurant (3)Here are some of the sparer part for you to chose or you want all in like mine?

what to eat in kepongsiew kei noodle house restaurantFor soup base I find it normal, if you order bee hoon, the taste is covered up. Soup base taste could not taste as prominent as the dry seperate version.famous pork noodle in klSince I observe alot people order the dry noodle, I decided to try one portion for dry and another portion soup base.  Dry pork noodle – Koey Teow Mee with all pig spare part.

Soup base is great as  I tasted there is a hint of “chinese wine” or siew weng chow in the soup base that give its uniqueness. Pork parts are all cook to perfettion, soft part where it is needed. Missing out is pork intestine. then that would be perfect.

pork noodle in kepongKoey teow noodle is different as when it was serve, I believe it is drench with some fresh pork oil as the aroma of it is very prominent and serve with some sweet soy sauce, some other mixture and pork lard. I find this pretty good. Noodle and gravy itself is on the sweet end with pig oil taste quite prominent.pork dry noodlepork noodle manjalara

Overall, I find it not too bad for a comfort food around the area. Do not mind to come back again as I want to try their Yee Mee Next. Is this the best? every one have their own preference taste. I find it quite worth to give it a try as not the usual ordinary style.

If you are in rush and looking for quick cook, this rice cooker is certainly impressive. for 15 minutes you can get it ready. Just be alert on the water level as it seems it use abit more water than usual. You might have a mix feeling that the base might be crusty at certain times. One thing for sure it is non-stick.

There have been tons of hype for this Natalina Italian Kitchen in Avenue K, KL. Many have regard as one of the best Italian restaurant in KL. Visited this place early this year along with the hype and trying out a few dishes.

I was told that this restaurant is run by a classic Italian and that is why they are so well known here. It is also recommended by a few of my Italian counterparts as they rated as one of the food that very close to their home.

Seating space here is not huge and if it is full house, you might find it abit cramp.

avenue kWhat is famous here is certainly one of their pizza series as all pizza are made fresh upon orders.

DSC01251Each of the table got their own freshly made bread to go off with. starting off with their special house made pesto, tomato and olive base condiments. It is actually pretty good as all 3 have pretty distinctive flavours.

lasagneWhat attracted me in the menu are these few dishes. If there is a chance I would always try to order Lasagna, Not too sure if this is in the menu as the one I see in the website I could not find this dish anymore. This is one of a lasaga that is punch with flavours. Mince meat is cook to soft perfection and serve with melted cheese, with fried leaves that gives it a nice end crips texture. Best for sharing.

franks barI have always been a big fan of Pappardelle con Guancia di Manzo @ RM 72 – broad pasta strips with wagyu beef cheeks white ragu, topped with Roman Pecorino cheese.

Certainly one of my favourite as it is hard to find nice version of this. It have to be wide and light weight and cook to al dante. This is unique as the sauce is great and even better with Pecorino cheese. Gives you a nice strong bold flavours from both tomatoish and mild bitterness of the cheese. Goes really well with the white wine I have chosen.

NATALINA FOOD MENU

DSC01243Usually i would go for classics Margarita and seems why not with something elevate for the day. Just hitting on something simple Tarfuto @ RM 68 – Buffalo Mozzarella, scarmoza, mixed wild mushrooms and wild truffles. It is a simple pizza that does not goes wrong. If it is wrong, then they would not be one of the recommended Italian restaurant in KL.

Edge is burnt to perfection with crips on the side. Love the dough as it is thin crust and I believe it is sourdough?

best tiramisu in pjThis is OhMyLord! . I would have to rate this as one of the best tiramisu I come across. It is very hard to come across such texture, taste to my liking. IT IS A MUST ORDER! Classic Traditional Tiramisu @ RM 45 (contains alcohol)

It is moist and the mascarpone cream is beat to perfection. Soft and fluffy yet the base is punch with espresso and the top is with strong cocoa powder with nice bitter end. Every little bits of chocolate give you a nice bite. It is a well balance of flavour. Sweet, nice bitter end and a mild hint of alcohol punch at the end. it is PERFECTO!

Natalina Italian Kitchen

Is it the best Italian restaurant in KL? This will be down to own individual preference. I find it quite decent and certainly will be back again to try their other items. Price wise is on the high side.

It is best for you to make reservations especially for dinner. Lunch you can still try your luck for walk in

I still remember clearly when I visited my friend in Perth back in 2015. It was super random trip that decided to fly off to visit my friends there after watching Master Chef Australia. We are at the end of Pandemic and I can see that many of my friends start to travel aggressively. Best advise by my friend to travel to Perth is definitely Spring. Perfect weather, with nice flower booming and temperature in between 17 – 30 degree, you will be lucky if got rain. This perfect season falls in Sept – Nov.

Other seasons will be like:

Summer : Dec – Feb

Autumn : Mar – May

Winter : June – Aug (sort of like rainy season)

You can get your planned Perth trip or free and easy with Sedunia Travel Australia. Perth is like no other Australian city. To get the best of the state view, you need to do road trip. We can plan something like as below:

Day 1: Explore City Center

When you reach the city, of course you need to stroll around all their main attractions. I was told by my friend to hit onto their Botanic Gardens. Every corner of this botanic garden have its own view. Just chill with coffee and enjoy the landscape of city or even sea view. Little did I know I ended up 2 hours here.

perth park

Then you must not miss out the legendary insta famous spot which is the Matilda Bay’s Iconic little blue boat house within 2 mins at the southern part of the park.

blue boat house

P8073099Then you can take bus to their famous London Street in the city center Sipping coffee, lunch or dinner.

Whipper-Snapper-Distillery_01_supplied-1920x1440Then I purposely head to their local whisky distillery Whipper Snapper Distillery. I did their factory tour and It just blew my mind away on how good their local whisky produce. I ended up bought 3 bottles of whisky.

Fremantle-Market-Perth-Western-AustraliaNext, my favorite part of Perth is this place Fremantle founded in 1829 build with Victorian architecture and remnants from Australia’s days as a British penal colony. Rich with maritime history. Architecture remains the same and it is now home to some fantastic restaurants, shops and bars. Such a bustling scene yet chill with people taking their leisure time to check this place out.

little creature perthThere are plenty of things to do here:

    1. Visit the Markets
    2. Street shopping’s
    3. Plenty of place to take nice pictures
    4. One of my favorite beer brewery – Little Creature
    5. Fish and Chips is a must try here (choose any of the available there)
    6. Shipwrecked , Maritime, Fremantle Prison Museum
    7. Plenty of amazing food

Finishing off with Wine tasting at Swan Valley, vineyard that has historically produced for more than 200 years.. Sample out your favourite wine yard, chocolate and cruise along the river.

You can pick to enjoy a 2-hour cruise down Swan River until you reach the magnificent Swan Valley.

Day 3: Road Trip to the South

This is one of the road trip that I am excitedly looking forward too. Moving to the Sourthern side seems to have a lot of interesting things to see and do along the way.

For this plan, it is best advise that you make an overnight stop instead of day trip.

    1. 45 mins away from the city, first stop to stop by City of Mandurah for breakfast

day 3 mandurah

Then follow by next town stop at Bunbury dolphin discovery Center. Enjoy the tour facilities or feed the dolphins at the sea area with guide of professionals

bunburry dolphine discoverythe-busselton-jetty-train

Finally, reach Busselton where it is home of the longest pier in the Sourthen Hemisphere where we are going to spend a night here. What to do here:

  1. Visit CastleRock
  2. Visit Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse
  3. Dunsborough Beach
  4. Petra Olive Oil Estate
  5. Cheeky Monkey Brewing co – Beer brewery

Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse

Day 4: going further down to Margaret River.

A region with plenty of lunch spots and cafes in Margaret River to enjoy. I’d also recommend stopping by the tourist information centre to grab a map (you can also plan your trip with its guide) of the winery area – which is where you’re heading next!

Or there are actually Plenty to do here: Margaret River Guide

  1. Whale Watching
  2. Wine tour (a lot world class vineyard like Cape Mentelle)
  3. Margaret River Brew house
  4. Mammoth Cave
  5. Margaret River Farmes Market

Last weekend, had a great dining experience that do not cost me a bomb for a lunch menu is at Cassis Restaurant at TTDI, KL. It is one of a fine dining restaurant in KL as they are offering French and Japanese inspired dish. 4 course lunch at RM 180, I find that it is decently priced and for the quality of food and food journey experience is just right.

Cassis Restaurant is not prominent on the main road as they sit just right 1 shop away from LUT, TTDI. Look for a bright yellow lights that lead you up to level 1.

Upon door opening, you will be greeted with soothing French background music, follow by greetings with a friendly staff at the door that will then bring to your seat, if you made a reservation.

For soup, you can pick :

Smoked Clam Chowder
corn, garlic crouton, parsley

Cassis Restaurant ttdi (6)

Little did I know, I order my first dish wrongly as I wanted the puff soup but accidentally order with Smoked Clam Chowder.

Another which I find it excited is Foie gras (top up RM 60) but turns out not to be a soup. It is a side. Perfectly pan seared foie gras that is crips on the skin layer and melt in your mouth inside base is just perfect. with its dressings on top just add on the flavours it needed.

wagyu beefMains:

Opted for Aged MB5 Australia Black Angus Sirloin baby spinach, mushroom, beef jus. I requested medium rare and it is cook to the way I wanted. seared on the outside with a nice little umami taste I like and the jus might be too strong. I prefer to have it by itself is already kinda perfect. I order their Italian red house wine to go with it. I believe its a Shiraz and its goes well with its after taste. a mxiture of shiraz spicy note and jus which is slight bitter and meat seared taste is perfect combo.

you can choose to upgrade : Miyazaki A5 Sirloin (supplement RM180)

lobster meal

Another main that happy over it is Maine Lobster & Scallop perfectly cooked with the taste sweetness of lobster is still prominent. Scallop is nicely done too. Ordered their house wine Italian White which have a bit of sweet floral note to match the seafood that I have. Liking it.

comptoirs richard parisBefore dessert, we are given a choice of Coffee or Tea. Rarely I choose for tea this round is because of the brand. I choose fruit tea because I saw the dessert list that i will be having and I believe will match to my personal taste bud.

When the dessert it serve, I am totally happy over it, with variety explosion of taste. Starting off with:

Was told by the server that we should start from left to right from the wood platform and end with the chocolate.

It is indeed a pretty satisfying desert ending with variety of flavours to hit on. From mixture of sour, salty and clear earl grey jelly with umami chococlate. Just perfecto!
Cassis Restaurant ttdi (10)

Whenever I travel, at times I will opt for fine dine or good food. For our local and RM 180 for such great food journey, I find that this is certainly one of a recommended menu to all of you. I am satisfied and happy over it. Maybe could be one of a fine dining restaurant in PJ you could consider?
