Steamboat is one of many people’s favourite food, that one can be dine happily especially rainy days or friends/family gathering. There are alot of steamboat restaurant out there and only handful of them that serve pretty good or decent one.
To me, soup base is one of the most important element for it as its the main ingredient that determine people like it or do not like it. the rest of the ingredient do not play much role as it is left with the range that they are offering.
La Mei Zhi is one of my friends favourite place as they came here quite often for their steamboat and because of the soup base that they are offering and also they open till quite late.
Their homemade green chili base that will give you extra punch of flavours that make you sweat after that. Spicy enough to make your tongue go numb.
In here they have a few signature soup base and one of their favourite is Duck Soup. Taste is solid and pungent enough yet with a bit sourish base that make it very appetising. Another one was Ma Lat soup and quite dissapointed with is as to me it is meant to be spicy and the taste or ingredient/herbs they use taste a bit unique, not really to my liking.
One of their most expensive item is their soup base as per soup base basic range from RM 25-RM40 and there are 6 flavours for you to choose from.
Its a pretty good place for steamboat if you are willing to dig a bit more into your pocket.
